Quinn is just a poor man's Doakes. The sooner he's gone, the better.

 Re: Dexter - Season 7
It's quite possibly the biggest turnaround I've seen on TV. Season 6 was a TV dictionary entry worthy example of "Jumped the shark/WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO THIS SHOW!!!". Now it's as good as ever. You're not supposed to come back from TV dead!

 Re: Dexter - Season 7
I think people jumped the shark on S6 (and S5 too). Both seasons were just perfectly fine and enjoyable as ever. But I'm glad at a turnaround. Looking at Metacritic this season has even better reviews than S4 (81/100 for S7 and 79/100 for S4).

 Re: Dexter - Season 7
I'm still fairly bored by this season, but the past three episodes have been decent since stuff has actually been happening. It's still better than season 6. There's absolutely no way it is season 4 quality though. That was a perfect season of television and the best this show will ever be. The past few seasons have yet to have a sequence as memorable as the Thanksgiving dinner scene or of course Rita's death. It can't be topped, IMO.

 Re: Dexter - Season 7
It jumped the shark on season 5. It was kind of strange because season 4 was probably the best of all of the seasons.I like this season so far and I could definately see it being back in the Emmy's race depending on how I think the finale will be like. The casting of Ray Stevenson sort of saved the show

 Re: Dexter - Season 7
Loved the last episode. It was probably one of the finest the show ever had. The Dexter/Hannah relationship is heartbreaking in a weird way and they have amazing chemistry. Can't wait to see how this plays out. I really don't hope they go the Lila route. Oh and Carpenters acting during her confession to Dex was terrific.

This past Sunday's episode was the best this season, imo. I'm really liking the story triangle between Deb, Dex, & Hannah.

Season 5 was a perfectly good season, and a nice place to take the show after the gamechanger that Season 4 was. But I'm sorry, Season 6 was awful. It's rote, paint-by-numbers Dexter. The writers were bored, and so the show was boring. You have a dull villain, a lame twist (which serves no purpose -- Gellar literally disappears the moment the 'reveal' happens), blatantly poor writing ("Have you gone in yet?" "No, we were waiting for you." -- SINCE WHEN?), etc. 6 was awful enough that if the first episode of 7 wasn't an improvement, I would have given up on the show entirely.

 Re: Dexter - Season 7
Last night's episode was really good, not liking LaGuerta at all -- hope Dex takes her out. Didn't expect Isaak (Ray Stevenson) to be killed off this early. thompsoncory wrote: There's absolutely no way it is season 4 quality though. This season is really really good so far. Not up to S4 levels, I agree, but it definately came much closer so far than I ever expected after the mediocre S6.

I still hope that Doake's name gets exonerated. Im guessing season 8 is most likely Dexter on the run and hiding which would be pretty awesome

 Re: Dexter - Season 7
I hope when they inevitably reveal Deb poisoned herself, that they at least make her explain that she crashed the car before her poisoning or something or that she never intended the crash to be that big. Because Deb heading out onto the road, intentionally blacking out and hoping she wakes up alive is dummmmmmmmb Season 6 Dexter type of writing

 Re: Dexter - Season 7
I loved the season finale, mainly because LaGuerta is FINALLY dead! It also looks like the Dex/Deb/Hannah triangle will continue next season. Re: Dexter - Season 7
Great season but the attention to detail in the last few episodes started to get S6 lazy. Like Hannah getting out of a hospital, going to her house to change and get a plant and going to Dexter's house without anybody tracking to catch her noticing. Or Laguerta entering the shipping container so stupidly and defenseless

LaGuerta couldn't call for backup after her royal fuck-up. Dexter was counting on that.

I actually finished this season last night - easily the second worst season of the show after S6. Thank god next season is the last.
