you know what else is a lame rule? the fact that we draft "defensive/ special team" units but special team touchdowns (ie, a return TD...like jacoby jones' from yesterday) are not counted. so basically, special teams are not a component of this league's defensive/ special team units.

How is a kick off return considered part of the "DEF"?? I do see an option to allow points for a DEF on KR but it doesn't make since to me to allow the DEF to get points on an Offensive Return when it would also hurt the opposing DEF

'DEF' is yahoo's abbreviation for 'defense/ special teams'. If you don't believe me, check the scoring and settings link and look at how yahoo groups the settings for such items

My point is that in our league, there is nothing to be gained from special teams play in a 'DEF' unit

If it feels inconsistent, it is. DST/ DEF units have purpose in non-IDP leagues...but in ours, because we draft individual defensive players, a DEF unit allows double rewards for the same action (eg, one player's sack). If there's double points for defense, maybe we should draft a team offense, too.

I guess here we give individual credit for a return TD. Feels odd because that TD is more a function of a 'team' effort than maybe anything else in football. Not a problem...I'm just saying

I here you about the waivers, we'll implement better rules next season, hopefully every one takes a look at the settings before the season starts so we can make changes accordingly.
