The Amazing Spider-Man is officially set to be released on 8/30. The Dark Knight Rises is still pending.

The film was just submitted for approval, so September is still more likely for a release.

Re: China Box Office (The data for the first half is release
AT BO.com forums folks from China are saying 8/30 for TDKR is 99% confirmed. Number 1 chain in China is already marketing the same. So we are going to see an epic battle. http://www.wandafilm.com/

Re: China Box Office (The data for the first half is release
I see, so it probably will be then, although have to say it's not official. It's definitely being released though as the film did pass the inspection.
Lorax and Ice Age 4 will be released on the same day too, on July 27th, followed by Breaking Dawn Part I on 8/2.

Re: China Box Office (The data for the first half is release
Wow that is some really poor scheduling IMO. I guess the new contract has a lot of movies getting approved.
I see Ice Age 4 winning the animated battle and TDKR winning the superhero battle.
Breaking Dawn Part I is sooooo late, wonder in Part 2 will be released in November itself after this being released so late.

Re: China Box Office (The data for the first half is release
Xia, i read the below in BO forums. is it true? Quote: Bad news:
TDKR canceled by Sarft. Even TASM is not locked for 8.30.
So no Hollywood films released in August (if Spidey cant make it). And probably no in Sep, no in Oct. too.

Re: China Box Office (The data for the first half is release
I haven't heard anything about TDKR being canceled, only that it's not being released in August. The only related article I read is from one from Mtime where it said the July protection month for domestic films could be extended to August, and the only current release date set for a Hollywood film is TASM on 8/30.

Xia, I saw below posted at BO.com forums. Can you confirm the dates and what is the potential of TDKR and TASM with the release dates.

Yeah, look like the dates are set. TASM is official, and TDKR looks to be the done deal too.

Re: China Box Office (TDKR and TASM dates are set)
TDKR will win between the two; I'm certain of that. At the popular douban.com, the Chinese version of IMDb, The Dark Knight currently has 110,639 votes with an 8.7 average, without even being released in China. Comparing that to Spider-Man 3, which has just 57,683 votes for an 6.7 average although it had a day-to-day release.
In term of how much each will make though, I'm not sure yet, especially with Prometheus now officially set for the early September release date.

Re: China Box Office (TDKR and TASM dates are set)
Any chance of record breaking BO. after all we will see 2 big films at box office. How many screens are there and how would imax/3d play out.
Prometheus is also in 3d. shouldn't it impact ASM big time.

 Re: China Box Office (TDKR & TASM - 8/27; Prometheus - 9/3)
Turns out TASM is moved up to 8/27 as well, so same day release as TDKR. Could certainly some record-breaking numbers combined.
Prometheus is set for 9/3.

Prometheus is set for 9/3. And Bourne/Recall are scheduled for 9/14. Chinese government is really putting the screws to Hollywood.

Thank god Prometheus moved out. These two movies would have totally killed the buzz and would have resulted in toxic legs.
BTW that's good for TASM I guess but then again its dates were finalized earlier than TDKR.
