Hellboy 2 would have been smarter to move its release date to the last weekend of June that year, not only would the 4th of July weekend have helped it's 2nd weekend drop immensely, but it wouldn't have lost as many customers to Hancock as it did to TDK.

Im a bit of a Marvel and Avengers fanboy but im mega psyched about TDKR now. Already have different friends wanting to organise seeing this film. I dont get to see many films in theaters these days (Avengers was the last) but this will be an event for a bunch of us. Cant wait. I hope it comes in just under Avengers for OW but passes it domestic total wise. Or rather, I just hope its an epic conclusion to the trilogy.

On a more realistic note I met the first person that plans on seeing TASM at a party on Saturday. He is on team Marvel and loves TA. He is not very interested in TASM, and has not been impressed with commercials nor trailers for the film. However, he is very excited about the villian and will see the movie. I did not have time to ask him if he planned on seeing it OW or later.

He has seen the first two Nolan Batman films in the theater and wants to see TDKR, but he did not understand why everyone else around him was talking about TDKR. He was mystified that it was all anyone wanted to talk about in terms of Summer movies. We had been talking about Prometheus for 15-20 minutes and his wife was ready to leave, so I was unable to talk to him more about TASM and TDKR. There is an audience for TASM, but if he is indictive it is not overly enthused. So, good/great reviews will help immensely in retaing audience from the previous trilogy.

Imo I have talked to most guys and the only films they talk about is TA and TDKR and somewhat about ASM.
