I assume you're joking about that one review, but if it's actually a superhero film for the Twilight crowd, then that's a damn shame the marketing hasn't been reflective of that. Which, of course, is my point about Catwoman. I'm not joking, the guy who wrote it was dead serious. So now we have The Amazing Twider-Man. Will LMAO when Twihard Baumer ends up loving it after bashing it for years and predicting it to flop.

No surprise here, TDKR is projected to be one of the greatest films in cinema history

the crazy high expectations will be very problematic for it though
critics will expect a lot--so a lower RT % can easily result (like Brave/Cars 2 and Pixar) and a lot of the audience might expect the same-causing WOM to be not as good
definitely for the fanboys though--if they expect the greatest thing ever and it isn't that--there goes the repeat viewings needed to be a 450m+ type movie

BMP wrote: No surprise here, TDKR is projected to be one of the greatest films in cinema history It's not too suprising IMO. We have been hearing for months that TDKR was said to be on par if not better than TDK. Also, this is around the same time that early word leaked out on both Inception and TDK, so it's a great sign. If general audiences feel the same way then you can pretty much gurantee that TA will have to kiss it's 2012 dominance goodbye.

"just like Iron Man and Iron Man 2 said goodbye to its dominance when The Dark Knight and Inception got released " Did not stop Iron Man from being seen as a good film, so I do not get your point. As I said unlike people on this board, people can like more then one film at a time. That is why I get annoyed by you guys sometimes and Nolanites... Its like Duh TDK is better then Iron Man... Does not mean Iron Man 1 sucks... Using that logic one can say The Godfather is better then TDK, so TDK sucks... See how stupid that sounds...

Manny speaks the truth. The Internet age's blockbuster tribalism is grotesque and the enemy of real, nerdy enthusiasm.

To use logic, people have to read closely what someone's write, where did I say that any of the Iron Man films suck? (but being honest the sequel was bad ),,,,,,,,however TDK and Inception are obviously better films, no doubt of it!

I too agree with Manny. I love Batman movies and Nolan but I am clearly not biased with whatever he makes specially when I haven't seen it. People here are too presumptuous and try to bring down other movies just to prove their point. The substance of Batman movies really appeals mass crowd in US and more than half of this forum but that does not mean that is the only movie in the whole wide world. Imagine if we have only one movie for the whole year that would be boring.
Don't take me wrong this does not change my perception of Batman beating the OW record and crossing $200m.

That's exciting, but to be fair, we have to treat this as bullshit, just like what the other Twitter dumbass who said the other day that the ending to TDKR was awful.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises OW Record Club of Tickets Now on S
I was just saying that of course as of now TA is seen as the movie of the year by domestic audiences...
That will of course change in a month but considering TA will sell as many tickets as the orginal Spider Man....It will no doubt remain a very popular and well liked film
I do not think just because another big all time time hit film is coming , that everyone forgets about the other well liked film.
I liked TA it was fun and entertaining, but I am looking forward to TDKR for the story and the characters.

With an expected $200m+ OW it would have to suck really bad for Batman to not make $600m very unlikely and then it will have summer weekdays to boost its gross.
The batfans are so crazy I don't think Avengers will be unreachable.

I heard the same when Iron Man broke out in 2008, most people claimed that TDK didn't have any chance of challenging it, 2 months later TDK exploded and buffeted all unbelievers

Anyone see the news about Bourne Legacy? Hilarious. Universal moved it to a week later and admitted in their press release that they're scared of TDKR. http://www.slashfilm.com/the-dark-knigh ... gacy-week/This is the second time they've moved a film because of Nolan. The first time was with Adjustment Bureau and Inception. They should have moved Hellboy II in 2008, but it got completely screwed against TDK. They're making a smart move here for Bourne, so it looks like they learned a valuable lesson from it.

Total Recall should move too. And ASM...
You know, aside from The Hobbit, there's actually a lot of room in December.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises OW Record Club of Tickets Now on S
I definitely think Spidey should move to June 29th. It seems a bit late for it. But then again if G.I. Joe can spend $3m on a Super Bowl spot and still be moved to the next year less than a month before release, then anything can happen. Total Recall should definitely move as well. We'll see how arrogant Sony really is. That movie has bomb written all over it. $200m budget and nowhere near that kind of potential in the U.S.
