They aren't listing any showtimes online yet. I just called in, an the receptionist said that they don't know whether they will have a midnight show, so we'll find out in Monday

So no comment on the fact there is a big problem over its release in China?

That really hurts it chances of 700 million overseas.

That means ASM could match it overseas then.

It doesn't really matter that it lost China. TDKR never had great overseas potential anyway. In this day and age, you absolutely need 3D if you want your movie to gross $700M+ overseas. Honestly, I think even $500M isn't a lock.

The big overseas grosser recently would have still made a ton of money without 3D.

TA would have still gotten 1.1+ billion without 3D.

Pirates 4 would have made 650+ million without 3D.

TF3 would have made 600 million without 3D.

China is a big loss because of how well Inception did there.

Remember guys Inception did around 520 million overseas...

So without China, I think Overseas its going to now likley lose to ASM. A bit sad...
It appears TDKR will not become a global Phenom.

It's a big deal for WB,but not for you, me, or anybody on this forum. TDKR was never going to do incredibly business overseas anyway. With 3D, it might have.

I still think it would have done around 600 million overseas...

TDK and Inception really established Nolans name overseas.

Both Sydney and Melbourne IMAX sites crashed.

Sydney IMAX CEO compares demand to Potter, says they may add extra sessions including 3:30am.

"It was a frenzy," he said.
"You have the die hards who have to see it first, the crazy ones where nothing but the midnight sessions will do."
