 Re: "Smash" (Season 1)
The season finale was EXCELLENT and the best episode of this series since the pilot. The final musical number was quite the showstopper - and what a cliffhanger regarding Ivy.

 Re: "Smash" (Season 1)
FANTASTIC finale! Went out with a bang. Damn you Ellis for promising this wasn't the last we'd hear of you. I want him gone permanently. Man I hate him . I also wouldn't mind if they sent Debra Messing's son away to a private school and we rarely saw him. These are a couple of the shows main problems. Other than this I love this show. For me it got progressively better throughout the season. I am so annoyed we have to wait until mid-season for the second.

ATTENTION NEW SHOWRUNNER YOU HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY AFTER TONIGHT, DON'T WASTE IT
1) Do NOT, under any circumstances, follow up on tonight's hint that Debra Messing is carrying that douchebag's love child 2) For that matter, do NOT, under any circumstances, ever show us her family again 3) Do NOT, under any circumstances, keep Ellis' promise to return 4) Do NOT, under any circumstances, reunite Dev and Karen
And while I'm thinking about it please never, ever set a scene in a church again

 Re: "Smash" (Season 1)
Jesus. This show.
On the plus side, I actually bought Kat McPhee as Marilyn for the first time all season.
On the negative side:
Julia is probably pregnant with Creepy Stalker's baby. What an insultingly lazy plot devlopment. Did Debra Messing pee in the writers' coffee pot or something?
And...Ivy is gonna attempt suicide with pills? COME. ON. Megan Hilty is so much better than the material she usually has to work with.
I hope they figure out their many, many, many issues when this returns for season 2.

Johnny Dollar wrote: And while I'm thinking about it please never, ever set a scene in a church again I love the sexual tension between Karen and Derek. You know they'll eventually hook up, and it will be hot, but I want them to hold off for quite a while. After it happens it will just be boring. The thrill is in the anticipation. And I do not want Dev and Karen to be reunited.

Well, at least they're listening to people about things that didn't work.

 Re: "Smash" (Season 1)
The massive backlash against Ellis must have been the reason for the character being written out - I remember reading an interview with Jaime Cepero who said the writers had big plans for his character in season 2

 Re: "Smash" (Season 1)
LOL! Everyone hated him. Even this one recent article in Entertainment Weekly listing the problems with the show mentioned him as one of them. Another was Messing's wardrobe . But they said it was almost fun tuning in every week to see what crazy thing she'd be wearing next. And boy do I agree. They dress her like they're trying to hide a baby bump or something.

 Re: "Smash" (Season 1)
Will Messing's husband not be returning at all? How is that possible? Or will he just not be around much?

 Re: "Smash" (Season 1)
Jennifer Hudson just signed on to appear in a multi-episode arc in season 2. This season is sounding great thus far. They really listened to the complaints people had and are trying to fix them.

 Re: "Smash" (Season 1)
She did dress terrible, though I liked parts of her outfits sometimes. I don't want them to do a total makeover on her. Just stop dressing her in baggy clothes that made it look like she was trying to hide a baby. They could keep some of the things, like the scarves. Those weren't so bad.

 Re: "Smash" (Season 1)
Extended trailer for the second season (4 minutes to be exact), very prominently featuring Jennifer Hudson. A shorter version aired during "The Voice" tonight (where Hudson was a guest mentor). http://tv.yahoo.com/news/exclusive-vide ... son--.html
