The problem with gambling on your own sport it could lead to things like the Black Sox scandal. However, the pros make so much money that it is unlikely you will see it again any time soon. It is more common in college.

 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
So, the NFL is adopting the playoff OT rules for the regular season. I like the change and think it benefits the game.

I like that it carries over... I just wish they changed it to something better.
Each team should get a possession in OT, PERIOD. After one possession each, it then just goes to sudden death.

With the recording evidence becoming public, I don't see Williams being allowed to return to NFL.

Draft moving very fast so far, and a lot of trades. There has been three so far. Cleveland, though, gave up way too much just to move up one spot. I know Richardson is good but RB is always a risk in the first round.

 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
Agree Cleveland gave up way too much, especially when they could have gotten Richardson at No. 4 anyway; Vikings must have convinced them there are other teams who wanted to trade up to No. 3 and take Richardson.
Liked Cowboys trade on the other hand.

Mark Barron's stock really rose this past week. I didn't really think he was a top 10 guy.

I think St. Louis was the one who would have moved up. Vikings could have gotten Kalil at 6 too.

 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
I am slightly uncertain about the Chiefs pick. Poe has a lot of talent, he could be a great player at NT. However he hasn't lived up to his talent at Memphis. I am hoping Crennel can coach him to his potential.

 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
Bills draft looks solid. I was worrited about them not taking offensive lineman at 10, but the guy they got at 41 was in the conversation for second best o line prospect anyways. Getting one of the best CBs and best O-line prospects in the draft = good with me

I wonder if this is gonna affect Brees' decision to re-sign with them.

Sucks that other teams who signed bountygate players are being punished for this.

 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
R.I.P Junior Seau Quote: http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/juni ... ome-050212Former All-Pro linebacker Junior Seau died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest, Oceanside (Calif.) police told reporters outside his home Wednesday. “Mr. Seau has deceased,” Oceanside police chief Frank McCoy said during a news conference. “This case, at this point, is being investigated as a suicide, and a handgun was found by the body." Police responded to Seau’s home after a woman who identified herself as his girlfriend alerted police around 9:30 a.m. PT. Emergency workers were unable to resuscitate Seau, who was found in a bedroom. Seau was 43.

 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
It is weird both came out the same day especially since Junior probably killed himself because of the head injuries. It does show the NFL is doing the right thing by trying to change the rules. Probably more needs to be done or else more players are going to go like this.

 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
So apparently, McCarthy of the Packers threw a challenge flag because the returner of an interception stepped out of bounds and the refs didn't catch it. But because it was a change of possession, McCarthy got flagged for unsportmanlike conduct and got a 15 yard penalty.
What a ridiculous rule. If they're going to do that, then all turnovers should be booth-reviewed.
