 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
Titans and Manning could be good idea, especially with Britt back.
Though I actually liked Hassleback on the Titans, the man can't catch a break. Maybe he'll head to the Cardinals

Though I actually liked Hassleback on the Titans, the man can't catch a break. Maybe he'll head to the Cardinals I actually agree with that. The Titans do have good to very good offensive weapons. Chris Johnson should be able to have a very good year if Peyton is running the helm. Plus, they have had success in the recent pass and been to a SB unlike doormats like Miami and Kansas City. Too bad he didn't want to go to Arizona or Seattle. I thought those would have been nice places to be and a winnable division.

They have the division 4 times in the last 12 years. And were a very competitive team in the 1990s. It has only been in the last couple of years they have struggled. What helps the Chiefs is the AFC West is generally always in flux so all four teams have a shot at winning it. Now the big news, the 49ers are in the mix. They would make the most sense for Manning. Alex Smith sucks as a QB, and the Niners could go to a SB with Manning.

Alex Smith is visiting with Miami. Looks like the Niners might be one of the front runners.

Mario Manningham signs with the 49ers, Brandon Lloyd with the Patriots.

 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
Manningham's signing makes me think the Niners are very serious. However, if they don't get Manning they could lose Smith. It is a huge gamble they are playing right now. I think the Niners have the advantage over the Broncos (great offensive line better team) but maybe not the Titans because of the homefield thing and what Bud Adams is offering him.

The Lloyd signing was inevitable. The 3 yrs, $12 mil part is the exciting part.

Flynn signs with Seattle. Now Miami is screwed, and I don't think Smith is the answer for them.

No way Miami wins 6 games next season.
Hell, NE might win the division by October.

 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
Tebow will go to Jacksonville, but does anyone want Gabbert? Draft "experts" had him ranked higher than Cam last year. Could he turn it around on a new team?
And Denver proves that NFL stands for No Fucking Loyalty.

And Denver proves that NFL stands for No Fucking Loyalty. Jacksonville already signed another QB so they won't trade for him now. He will go to Miami most likely. I think Manning was stupid. The Niners had the only chance at the SB. The Broncos have no WRs and a poor OL. As a Chiefs fan, I hope Derrick Johnson and Hali take his head off (not literally). Edit somebody posted on the internet he is going to get 95 million for 3-5 million. Now if true that is insane. Nobody is worth that and it will blow up Denver's cap. I hope this comes back to bite them in the ass. Also, it sounds like they are giving him complete control of the offense which the Niners and Titans weren't willing to do. I still think he is stupid and they are too. Winning is more important but I guess he cares more about money and power right now.

Apparently the Broncos "do not care" what they get for Tebow.

 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
Why is 95 for 5 outrageous to you? Isn't that similar to what he would have gotten before he was removed from Indy? I'm sure it will be very incentive laden in order for him to earn all that money.
I would have preferred Manning go to the 49ers of the three just because of all the weapons at SF and the excellent defense, but if he can't run the show their then it wouldn't have worked. He's an offensive coach on the field everyone knows that.
Sorry for Tebow. I really want to see him play a full year with a team and he had something going with that team, but maybe he'll get another chance with another team.

I really want to see him play a full year with a team and he had something going with that team, but maybe he'll get another chance with another team. 95 is insane for a QB of his age and his risks. He is getting more than Brady or Rodgers. Only Brees will be paid more than him. Also, it hurts the team's cap, in the NFL you can't tie up that much money in one player because you have other holes to fill. I am actually glad the Chiefs didn't sign him for that. The risk is too high, and it could blow up in your face and set the franchise back for 5 years.

 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
As for that contract, apparently Denver will be safe if for some reason he gets hurt again because of his neck. Besides, the way they are talking it sounds like they have money to spend so they can attempt to fill in any offensive holes. Also, I guess 36 is old for a qb but Manning isn't a run of the mill journeyman qb.

Also, I guess 36 is old for a qb but Manning isn't a run of the mill journeyman qb. What players are they going to sign? All the good WR are gone unless they are willing to give up two first round picks to KC for Bowe (besides the Chiefs can match the offer) or a first round pick to Pittsburgh for Wallace. They would be really crazy to make either one of those moves. I guess they could sign old Dallas Clark, but the good receiving options are gone this year unless they are going to draft a WR. that is their only option. I still like the Chiefs in the division. The Broncos have a brutal schedule next year (the Chiefs have an easy schedule) and the Chiefs have made improves in their OL, RB, and defense. I still am not comfortable with Cassel but they can win the division with him but only because of their RBS and defense.
