 Re: Alcatraz
That sucked, I'm not watching again
Didn't even make it all the way through episode two. Switched to a wife swap rerun. WIFE SWAP RERUN.

 Re: Alcatraz
I liked it overall. It has an interesting premise and Sam Neill was great in it. They probably need to reveal the how this season to not lose people. They could drag out the why for seasons if they want.

 Re: Alcatraz
I saw the pilot a few months ago through work and it was one of my favorites of the new season. Haven't watched episode two yet.

 Re: Alcatraz
It did better than "Terra Nova" with a lot less hype and a smaller budget.

 Re: Alcatraz
Man, the girl is kind of annoying. It would have been so much better with the doctor being played by a girl and the cop being man. She is very average on the acting, and action at best. Sam Neil and the premise though completely preposterous and at many times completely predictable held my attention.
I'm more inclined to drop this in favor of the Jack Bauer meets Knowing show next week.

 Re: Alcatraz
I thought it was pretty solid. I enjoyed each twist and I like the idea they're just going to keep compounding prisoners each episode (which could get pretty ridiculous cast-wise).
I didn't mind the main girl, but I'm sold with Sam Neill and Hurley.

 Re: Alcatraz
Good show. The blend of Lost style mythology and procedure-centric cop drama feels right. The lead actress is gorgeous. Boner alert. And Hurley is charming, and Sam Neill lends gravitas. Easy to watch.

 Re: Alcatraz
Last night's episode was pretty good, especially since they focused on Robert Forster's character. I think they need to find ways to get him more in the story.

 Re: Alcatraz
I'm really enjoying this so far despite its procedural nature (I usually hate shows like that). There's enough mythology at work to keep me engaged.

Magnus wrote: stopped watching. its getting cancelled right? maybe or maybe not, most people think that Fox will have to make a decision to keep two of the following shows Terra Nova, Alcatraz, or Touch. I think this is the case since House is ending and they will most likely cancel Fringe. I think Touch will make it and they will probably keep Alcatraz because its cheaper than Terra Nova and put it on Friday night to replace Fringe.

 Re: Alcatraz
I think this one is already Lost. After 6 episodes two of the main characters are less fleshed out than the usual CBS procedural characters. The flashbacks really hurt this show. They tell way too much story and background about "prisoner-of-the-week". Only Guy Hastings episode progressed the storyline so far and it's funny that the only character that had the use from the storyline is a supporting character. The leading lady and the doctor are still cardboard cut-outs and I could easily do without that. Sam O'Neal steals the show. I think they mashed Fringe's case-of-the-week and Lost's flashbacks, but those two didn't mix as well as they hoped they will. Also the big "revelations" are already showing signs of convulted mess a-la Lost Season 4-6 style. Wow, two mysterious keys! What do they open?????? They open A DOOR! No shit Sherlock.

 Re: Alcatraz
I don't see FOX going with Terra Nova. It didn't set fire to the ratings and it costs a bundle.

I can't see them cancelling both along with Fringe. As I said I could see them keeping Alcatraz and putting it on Friday nights. I think Touch will probably be the new 8pm show replacing House.
