Re: Once Upon A Time - Season 1
I really like the Jiminy/Archie character. Lots of internal conflict to work with there. I actually think they could've ended the flashback without him being a cricket yet or even waiting seasons to show us how a la Kate's crime and Locke losing his legs, but it'll work
Gotta love that looking down the hatch nod to Lost
My only concern with the show is there being enough Storybrooke plot oppurtunities (I expect the flashbacks will always be awesome)
I'm guessing we find out who the Prince's first fiancee is supposed to be next time (it's his episode, guess first one was supposed to be Snow White's) - I'm thinking a Princess and the Pea rendition w/ the arranged marriage background

Emilie De Ravin to play Belle from Beauty in the Beast! http://www.tvguide.com/News/Once-Upon-T ... 40187.aspxAlso hints that Aladdin and the Genie will be on the show

That was announced a few weeks ago. So excited about it.
JoAnna Garcia is also rumored to be playing Ariel in an upcoming ep.

yeah there are plenty of fairy tale characters for them to chose. I know they would like to do Peter Pan but the rights are complicated.

Re: Once Upon A Time - Season 1
"The Shephard" was an outstanding episode. Really like the Snow White Charming storyline. And King Midas is a boss
Rumpelstiltskin is everywhere lol
I think the Princess paid someone for that dragon to be there and it's the Princess and the Pea storyline but with the dragon in the pea's place - and like Charming she never actually wanted an arranged marriage but expected the dragon would just kill everyone. She looked disappointed

She looked disappointed I think Rumpelstiltskin being everywhere shows his influence on the show and how right now he is really the main villain. And someone is dying next week, I have an idea who might be but am not 100% sure yet.

Holy shit.... best episode so far!
I never thought they would kill him off in that way, at least he remembered everything before dying.
And this is finally a victory for the Evil Queen.

Re: Once Upon A Time - Season 1
It was shocking how he died, although I knew he was going to get it from the beginning (couldn't figure out who else they would kill off). It was a great episode, can't wait for next week.

That was an excellent episode. Easily the best so far, and the most reminiscent of "Lost."

Great episode and I loved Rumple's backstory. I think this episode indicates that he will be the main villain of the show. It is interesting how he sacrificed his humanity for his son and he becomes a monster who his son fears.

Re: Once Upon A Time - Season 1
Last night's episode wasn't as great as the one preceding it with Graham's death, but it was still incredibly solid. And I like that they are making Rumple/Gold so three-dimensional with his interesting backstory last night.

Re: Once Upon A Time - Season 1
This is a good show, but I've put my finger on what's holding it back. The Lost writers were 100% about the creative team. From watching the behind the scenes they basically had Lost HQ in Hawaii where they were left alone by ABC, and ABC just had to sign off on what they came up with. I can't help but feel Once Upon a Time is more of a corporate run show if that makes sense. There's way more standalone episodes and appealing to watchers who haven't seen the whole thing, and there appears to be little interest drawing out long arcs and storylines from the supporting characters like in Lost. Even Prince Charming isn't even in the show much except for his or SW's episodes, let alone some of the other characters who've gotten episodes like Cinderella and Jiminy. Hansel and Gretal might never appear again. If run like Lost they'd all have been in every episode before they got theirs, let aone in more than 1 total. The motorcycle guy showing up at the end of the H&G episode was suchhhh a corporate "We gotta get a STUD love interest. Bam! Who's your boss daddy?" in the board room decision. Lost vs Once Upon a Time is like Homeland vs 24
It's not necessarily a terrible thing, it's just not Lost and it's unlikely it will reach its full potential. I think Lost was unique in that it was a network show that was run like a cable one. Once Upon a Time is a network show that's run by profit concerned entities, especially in a ratings starved era where the luxury of doing otherwise is probably not there. It's still better than almost all the other network shows though

Re: Once Upon A Time - Season 1
I think ABC will be a lot easier on this series in its second season, especially since its proven to be remarkably consistent in stable in the ratings thus far throughout year 1.

Re: Once Upon A Time - Season 1
Yeah, maybe it could resemble how Buffy and Angel made a huge jump from standalone episodes to overall story arcs blowing up after their first years and becoming established

Re: Once Upon A Time - Season 1
Last night was a cool episode. It was interesting to see that the Mirror was actually a Genie (not sure if was the same one from Aladdin). And the twist was neat at the end. I think Emma just needs to go with Mr. Gold as an ally, although I am sure he has some evil plan but at least it will take care of Regina. So, next week Rumple is revealed to be the Beast that is an interesting twist to the story.

Re: Once Upon A Time - Season 1
The Genie episode was good. I guess it was pre-ordained that Mr Glass would end up in the mirror but the episode worked well. The big question is - is Sidney Glass playing Emma or Regina??

Last night's episode was my favorite yet. Loved seeing Emile de Ravin and thought the twist on the classic story was well-done. I hope Belle becomes a recurring character.

Yeah it was a great episode and now we know that Mr. Gold knows he is rumple. The show does seem to be setting up a power struggle between him and Regina.

Really enjoyed the 2nd Rumpelstiltsken episode! My only complaint - Belle was a princess instead of a daughter of a crazy inventor.

Re: Once Upon A Time - Season 1
Another good episode. I'm sure Belle will become a recurring character and out of Rumple's reach for a long time.
Rumple is becoming more and more of an anti-hero. Regina is the soul-less one.

last night's episode was great and very gory for ABC. I loved the twist making Red the wolf. And we know the Queen is setting Mary up. I think next week's episode looks awesome.
