 Touch
The preview episode was on tonight, and I thought it was fantastic. Kiefer was great as always, but what was really wonderful was all the connections they made between the characters. I thought it was brilliant storytelling especially the big shock towards the end. Too bad we will have to wait until March. I do wonder which show is Fox moving or putting on hiatus for Touch?

Okay that make sense I think Fox is hoping that Touch and Alcatraz will do good ratings and will be there Monday night block next season. Looking at the IMDB boards most people seem to really like the pilot so that would be a good sign.

 Re: Touch
Uh-oh, conflicting opinions!
I'm watching this tonight in time for my Ecks Factor column on the main site tomorrow. Can't wait for more Kiefer!

It got 11.9 Million viewers last night so we'll see how it holds up/if people remember it when it returns in March. I'm going to give it another episode or two but I found the pilot so cheesy and dull. Enjoyed "Alcatraz" a lot more.

 Re: Touch
I liked the pilot. Sure, they were reaching in some areas like the social worker's near 180 degree turn in attitude but it was an entertaining, well-acted 45 minutes.

 Re: Touch
It got off to a good start but yeah I agree we shall see how it holds up in March. Of course it just needs to do Alcatraz numbers to get picked up for next season. Most seem to think that House is gone and it comes down to Alcatraz, Touch, and Terra Nova. Right now I think the latter two could get picked up over Terra Nova.

 Re: Touch
I loved most of it, but the terrorist sub plot was terrible "Are you sure you can get me an oven? Or I'll kill myself now!" It reminded me of a short film I did once. It was a kidnapping film starring nothing but toddler's and the ransom was $5 Other than that Kiefer is actually a very likeable character here, and not just another Bauer clone. I hope this does well and works out some of the minor kinks the pilot had

 Re: Touch
The oven thing was so awful and ridiculous.
Also everyone just remember this is from the creator of "Heroes," which started great and then...well...you know the rest.

 Re: Touch
Tim Kring created very rich, interesting characters though. He just completely F'd up how to use them properly. And he had no business writing a show about superheroes with no real personal connection to superheroes in general. Reminds me of when Kevin Smith told the story about how Tim Burton, director of TWO Batman flicks, would "never read a comic book". It's not a prerequisite, but it should be encouraged to have a connection to the source material.
I liked the pilot. Kiefer is great, as always. Shades of Bauer in there, but not as much as I expected.

 Re: Touch
I thought the first 15 minutes were boring as hell, but then it picked up steam and got great. The moment when the picture of the daughter came on the big screen in Tokyo was incredibly good

 Re: Touch
I liked this quite a bit. I would watch anything with Kiefer Sutherland (although seeing him play this timid guy who is the exact opposite of Jack Bauer was kinda funny), but this was interesting if a bit too...neat. But it's a pilot, so I digress.
I do have to agree the suicide bomber/oven mini-plotline was terrible, though.

 Re: Touch
I think it will be hard for a lot of people to watch Kiefer and not think of him as Jack Bauer.
I still see Ed O'Neil as Al Bundy albeit a much older Al Bundy.

 Re: Touch
Finally watched the pilot. Though it was great. Bit slow at the start but once the pieces connected I thought it was a very cool pilot. Though a lot will depend on how well they plot the show. But so far this is the best drama pilot of the season by far.

I didn't think the second episode was very good. I hope they tone down the mawkish sentimentality.

 Re: Touch
FOX bumped second season premiere of Touch for January 2013. Which IMHO is a death sentence for it. Audience already stopped caring and such a long pause will only kill it.
I felt like the show had some cool idea it was going to play out, but so far it didn't really develop as I expected it to.
