This movie isn't going to end up as big as you think it will. Aot of problems with this movie already as it stands with a studio's refusal to address or fix any of the problems and that's not good, plus, it's not even on Intertops list of movies for the summer.. Hell, the fucking Three Stooges made the list, but not TDKR... Quote: From Intertops.com
BATTLE OF THE BLOCKBUSTERS 2012 Which film will have the biggest opening 3-Day weekend, Friday to Sunday for 2012? U.S. & Canada box office sales only.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 -175 Marvel's The Avengers +120 The Hunger Games +700 The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey +1200 The Amazing Spider-Man +2500 Prometheus +5000 Snow White and the Huntsman +5000 Men in Black 3 +8000 Pixar's Brave +10000 Skyfall (aka James Bond 23) +20000 G.I. Joe: Retaliation +25000 Ice Age: Continental Drift +25000 47 Ronin +30000 Battle Ship +30000 The Bourne Legacy +40000 The Dictator +40000 Wrath of the Titans +40000 Frankenweenie +50000 Paranormal Activity 4 +50000 Red Dawn +50000 Resident Evil: Retribution +50000 The Expendables 2 +50000 The Three Stooges +50000
The only reason TDKR was left off the list is because they didn't want everyone to vote for it and make an extremely one sided poll. It's more interesting to see how the other films stack up to each other. You'd have to be a complete and utterly moron to think that films like GI Joe and Frankenweenie have a chance in hell of beating it. The whole Bane audio crap isn't any more detrimental to the trailers than Joker's skin NOT being bleached Perma-white, an aspect fans complained about before the film came out. Yeah, Ok Newb.. Whatever helps you sleep better at night.. Will let you keep this as your little secret, but the truth of it is, is that TDKR is going to get seriously trumped this summer and so much that WB will feel stupid for not releasing TDKR in 2013 with The MAN OF STEEL than up against MARVEL'S soon to be Juggernaught, The AVENGERS.. Hell, at this point, there's more exciting news coming out of that movie than TDKR.. I'd say we kind of know deep down which movie will really be the crowd pleaser this summer and it's not going to be the overly dark and depressing TDKR complete with shitty audio and 2nd rate villain to boot.. Ouch Batfans.. That's gotta sting..

Does anybody else find it cute that BKB keeps saying WB should release The Dark Knight Rises against its own other comic book movie?

There is NOTHING about the upcoming Marvel circle jerk that indicates that it will be anything beyond another generic Comic book film. Just a bunch of stills resubmitted 1500 times on numerous websites. This emphasis on a crossover will hurt the film come May, mark my words.

Putting a ridiculous smiley isn't going to change the fact that characters that are Marvel Studio's property are nowhere close to being as popular as Batman or Spiderman. I'm reminded of another film that people said was going to take in a shocking amount of money. They stated that its light-hearted, more "family friendly" tone would be a huge benefit. Predictions ranged from "Taking The Dark Knight's opening weekend record" to "surpassing Spiderman's domestic worldwide gross". Nobody thought it would come up short to its predecessor's DOM total. That film was Iron Man 2, and to say that it failed to meet those expectations is an understatement.

It's because you never bet against a Batman with prep time...4 years worth this time around! Some may call that unfair, but I ask have you ever seen a penis?

Newb, I'm done with you and I think many of folks are done with you in listening to the same shit you keep spewing and it still doesn't change the fact that your simply going to be wrong and eat alot of crow and shit from me this summer to the point where you'll want to bury your head in the sand just to get rid of me and that goes for everyone else for that matter.. All you keep doing over and over is IRONMAN 2 made this, IRONMAN 2 made that, therefore this will make that, is really a flimsy fucking argument when you consider how shitty BATMAN and ROBIN was, then Nolan came around and took a dead franchise and made decent movie and the point is, is that just because IRONMAN 2 didn't light up the fanboy world and had it's share of flaws( as though no comicbook movie does that: cough TDK cough) doesn't mean that it didn't make alot of $$$ cause it did and I'm not even bringing up the goofy Worldwide Number.. I'm talking DOMESTIC, the movie did just fine and enough to get a 3rd movie.. Hmmm.. Wonder if GREEN LANTERN: Another DC property will get a sequel?? Oh wait: It won't cause it BOMBED, so so much for a JUSTICE LEAGUE movie Newb..

I'm betting against it and strongly so to the point that what they've shown thus far, both in the goofy Prologue and the trailer, didn't exactly light the world on fire action wise and let's not even talk about the inaudible dialogue from a 2nd rate villain like Hardy's BANE.. Hardy's not a draw and neither is Anne Hathaway for that matter and thats' where this movie will suffer, plus the female demographic won't give a shit about TDKR either like they will for the AVENGERS in chicks being drawn to Hemsworth..

The avengers could have been a bigger hit in the middle of the last decade.
Superhero films were very big and popular.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises $200+ million OW Club
Batman Begins was registered in a completely different universe than Batman and Robin. Iron Man 2 is within continuity with the Avengers. While it easily made enough to warrant a sequel and further connected the other films to each other, it didn't break box office records. In fact, it grossed less than the first film despite having a 30 million dollar head start with the opening weekend.
This doesn't mean than the follow up films will drop drastically, but neither does it indicate that there will be any significant increase, if an increase at all.

Hiddleston, Hemsworth, Evans, Ruffalo, Johansson, none of them have been in big hits outside of Comic book films and only a few films some have been featured in have actually been profitable.

After THOR, Hemsworth is a draw and a draw for the female demographic as well, something that will be sorely missing from TDKR: A movie that appears to cater strictly to little boys and nothing more, especially with a villain only little boys have heard of in BANE..

Superhero films were very big and popular. Could have been??? Hate to say this, but your looking at a movie that's going to be pretty damn big in 5 months, last decade or not and besides, if they had tried to release something like this 10 years ago, it would've been shit on like it was for The HULK 2003 with FX that weren't quite there yet...

I judge this movie based on how many of these I see in the thread: Quote: This post was made by STEVE ROGERS who is currently on your ignore list. Display this post. The more of those, the better for TDKR.

In the end, it's pretty obvious you follow me around to get attention and you can thank me for the increase in your post count since you follow me around like a lost puppy.. As for my so called "failure rate"?? Who cares??? Who really gives 2 shits??? It's supposed to be all about FUN, not an exercise in box office predicting as though you think you get paid to do this shit.. In the end, you and everyone else take box office predicting a little too serious for your own good, so lighten up kid..

OMG virtually every thread has been made TDKR vs Avengers battlefield by BKB. I really don't want to say it but can someone ban him for a couple of months ?

BKB's statements (when they are about TDKR vs. Avengers) are funny because of his idiocy,,, I support your decision Trixter, but let him come back in a week or less, some people like to laugh about his crazy posts

No way! More like $170m. If it breaks the OW record is a 50/50.
