That will have no bearing in Asia. What Avengers needs to worry about is Battleship...especially in Asia.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises $200+ million OW Club
Avengers will likely get 400 or so million overseas due to 3D.
Pretty much IM2 + 3D. Thor was a decent hit overseas so he has some added appeal.
The opening for the avengers will not be that big, but it will likley have a Saturday around 10% within TDK2.

Saying this movie isn't going to open big when, Gee, It opens in May and caps off the summer is about as smart as Nolan and WB not fixing the audio problems in TDKR.. The movie is gonna be HUGE: You hear that?? H U G E.. I get so tired of this bullshit with "Well, THOR Opened to this, CA opened to this, therefore, that must mean the AVENGERS will open to this number is beyond ridiculous.. It's the 1st ensemble superhero movie that's never been done before(and don't bring up the X-MEN bullshit either cause that's not the same as "A List superheros and villains on 1 screen.. Got that?? Were not dealing with inaudible, 2nd rate villains here like BANE, ok??? Good

I meant not that big meaning 150+.
Avengers should have no trouble opening between 120-150 million.

STEVE ROGERS wrote: I get so tired of this bullshit with "Well, THOR Opened to this, CA opened to this, therefore, that must mean the AVENGERS will open to this number is beyond ridiculous... No, it's completely logical. Iron Man is by far the biggest name in the franchise right now, and seeing as how no other Avenger film has opened anywhere near the two IM films numbers or final DOM totals DESPITE having at least 95% of their audiences come from Iron Man's audience, it's safe to say that the Avengers will likely contribute very little beyond IM2 OW numbers. STEVE ROGERS wrote: It's the 1st ensemble superhero movie that's never been done before Freddy vs Jason was the first time two horror movie icons shared a film together, but it didn't exactly set the Box office world on fire, same for the AVP films. A great deal of the audience still sees it as nothing but Iron Man 3 featuring the Avengers cast. STEVE ROGERS wrote: "A List superheros and villains on 1 screen.. Got that?? Good Bane is a higher brand name among the general populace than any Avengers villain, and Batman's name clearly thwomps the Avengers cast. As far as I'm concerned, the only way MArvel could even hope to reach TDK OR TDKR's numbers would be to do an adaptation of "SECRET WARS".

Re: The Dark Knight Rises $200+ million OW Club
I think its proportional, Freddy vs Jason made alot more money than the previous Freddy of Jason film and likewise with AVP which made alot more than the last Alien or Predator film. Therefore, the combination of superheroes should certainly elevate Avengers above the recent Marvel films (incl. Iron Man 2).
Regardless I hate the TDK vs Avengers discussions. Two separate franchises - we should be happy with both.

CASTING SPOILERS: http://batman-news.com/2012/01/19/joey-king-reveals-the-dark-knight-rises-character/This pretty much confirms to me Marion Cotillard is adult Talia, since they're so similar. I'm also starting to wonder if we're in for a big swerve, where Bane is a feint and not the true villain of the movie.

The Dark Knight Rises will be the only CBM that year that appeals to the general populace due to the two previous films and Nolan's Inception film. You can complain all you want, but the whole "X film made this much and Y film made that much = Z film making this much" IS a valid argument.

Plenty of people are interested in The Avengers, it just so happens none of them weren't also interested in Iron Man 2.

Well the film is all but guaranteed a top 3 finish for the year.
It should do 300 million with ease especially with 3D added.

The AVENGERS is going to make an absolute fortune and I'm gonna make al of you feel stupid when it hyappens and for allowing this to go wayyy over your heads cause you and everyone else were to busy Nolan penis slapping to everything and anything that's TDKR...

What??? If TDKR doesn't even come a fraction close to 533 Million domestically, will you finally believe it then or will a bad case of denial hit you over it cause deep down, it was true???

One would ask you the very same thing, but the answer from me is simply it's not happening and at this point, it's a done deal once May approaches and the hype kicks in, which should begin Feb 6th at the SUPER BOWL.. Hmmm.. Funny how WB doesn't have the confidence to put out more footage of TDKR at SUPER BOWL, but then again, it would get ass raped even worse than it already has off Mumbles McBANE and his inaudible dialogue newbie.. As a matter of fact and it's been said at the very least 100X over, but as always, Nolan loving penis huggers such as yourself, the AVENGERS has way more going for it right now by MARVEL not shoving shit down our throats like selling tickets to a movie 7 months early like WB did recently for TDKR, but as always, when Nolan's penis obstructs your airway, you have a tendency to gloss right over this issue now don't you??? And like it or not(and in your case and everyone else) Ledgers death WAS the sole reason for TDK success, not the reviews asshat, just like the Posthumous Oscar Ledger won to: It was because it was more out of tribute than the movie he starred in itself and you know it.. Either way, I'm really gonna have the last laugh before I bolt from this taco stand along with Shawn's BOT Baby website that caters to newbs like you: BABY'S..

The only reason TDKR was left off the list is because they didn't want everyone to vote for it and make an extremely one sided poll. It's more interesting to see how the other films stack up to each other. You'd have to be a complete and utter moron to think that films like GI Joe and Frankenweenie have a chance in hell of beating it. The whole Bane audio crap isn't any more detrimental to the trailers than Joker's skin NOT being bleached Perma-white, an aspect fans complained about before the film came out.
