Bryant? Do you mean... Blackmon?
And OKState has a ridiculous offense, which would go great with LSU's ridiculous defense. But both of their counterparts are... not good.

 Re: 2011 College Football Season
Kellen Moore is a historically great college QB. Which makes it depressing that he's never had a shot at a National Championship... :/

Iowa State upsets Oklahoma State, we are now approaching BCS chaos. Now if LSU loses everything will be perfect.

 Re: 2011 College Football Season
Embarrassing for OSU. Tragic event with the plane crash but when you are up 24-7 that event isn't what caused this meltdown. Also, I thought that fg was good. We need cameras under the damn bar so can be positive.
Poor Boise. Everything would have fallen into place but just like OU they laid an egg at home. Shame.
I hate that Alabama is most likely a rematch waiting to happen now. OU won't catch them. OR is in the hands of the voters and even then it may not be enough

 Re: 2011 College Football Season
Well Oregon plays a better team in USC this weekend, plus have one more game so they will probably jump Alabama. Alabama could lose to Auburn plus LSU have two tough games left, I wouldn't be shocked to see a few more upsets.

 Re: 2011 College Football Season
LSU could lose one game and still be in championship game since they have wins over Alabama and Oregon. As much as I don't want an LSU-Alabama or LSU-Oregon rematch, I'd want an LSU-Oklahoma match even less since Oklahoma always gets in the title game and always loses. Whenever there's chaos Oklahoma always gets the benefit of the doubt undeservingly and it looks to repeat this year.

If LSU lost to Arkansas I doubt they be in the title game. I still think they would drop 2 places regardless.

I wouldn't guarantee that yet with the way this season has gone. I could see LSU losing to Arkansas or Georgia. Not sure what happens then.

The only situation LSU doesn't get in NC is if LSU loses BOTH games or is blownout by Arkansas. I disagree, you never know what the voters will do.

I don't want LSU to lose, but rather the best chaotic scenario would be to see them beat Arkansas, then Alabama loses to Auburn, Virginia Tech to Virginia, Oklahoma State to Oklahoma, all within reasonable possibility. Then who should LSU play? Stanford? Houston? Even Boise State? What if LSU then loses to Georgia in the SEC championship game? That would be fun.

I hope LSU loses twice. And everyone else loses.
THEN MICHIGAN CAN JUMP TO THE TOP.

 Re: 2011 College Football Season
if LSU loses to Arkansas next week' are they still locked into the SEC Championship game against Georgia the week after, or could Arkansas/Alabama take its place in that game? Is the tiebreaker based on BCS rankings or other criteria? Would suck for Arkansas if it beats LSU, but the national championship game is Alabama-LSU

 Re: 2011 College Football Season
It's based on BCS ranking, and Arkansas would surely jump to No. 1 on both polls, with their computer numbers not that weak, so they should not have to worry about that possibility.

What's funny... is outside of South Carolina (who isn't as good as their 9-2 record), Arkansas has literally beaten nobody.

 Re: 2011 College Football Season
It does look like Stanford is in best position in term of the schedule they have left, but given how they played Cal the last game, the Notre Dame game is certainly no gimme. I do believe Houston would need every major conference team outside LSU to have two losses or more for them to play in the national championship. And what if Georgia runs the table? They would have a good argument too if others all have 2 losses; then again, they could easily lose @ Georgia Tech in the rivalry game.

They could probably jump Boise regardless. Also, will Houston get invited to a BCS bowl if they win out? I think they will based on the current BCS rankings.

Apparently, Houston is going to need to win it's conference to be get an automatic bid, so if they lost then I doubt they'd get picked.
Boise has got to be kicking themselves again. Everything fell as perfectly as it could have fallen but playing loosely against TCU cost them big time.

 Re: 2011 College Football Season
Here's a scenario that a radio guy brought up.
What happens if AL wins out. LSU gets to SEC title and loses to GA. Most likely LSU and AL will flip flop BCS Spots.
#1 AL #2 LSU
SEC Champ GA
He's saying that there wouldn't be a rematch since 2 teams from the same BCS conference can't go to BCS bowls whereas the other guy thinks the BCS rule that #1 and #2 must play in the title game will trump the rule about only 2 teams from the major conferences going to BCS bowl games.
I would hope that #2 gets skipped over since the SEC would then get 3 teams when no other conference is allowed 3 and one of those conferences would lose out on millions of dollars for that bowl game.

Nevermind.
The radio guy was on and then I looked it up. They'd all go to BCS games. What a windfall that would be.
