 Re: Survivor: South Pacific
Fine with Ozzy, but I already puke at the mention of Coach's name.

 Re: Survivor: South Pacific
Love Coach. He's just so... silly. Such fun to watch.
But with the look of Ozzy and Coach, it looks like they're filming a 80s pornographic version of Survivor.

......And the "Dragon Slayer" returns! Idk, I'll give it a go this season. Can't say I'll watch 'til the end, but I will stick with it until at least Coach is gone.

Really surprised not to see the Cochran get more than 1 vote against him. They edited that well. Ready for another great season!

 Re: Survivor: South Pacific
The premiere was promising. I hope it doesn't quickly flame out like the last two cycles did.
Semhar getting the boot was unsurprising.

I watched for the first time ever last night while waiting for the "Big Brother" finale. Heh.
Might keep with it, but Wednesdays are insanely crowded as far as television goes this season.

 Re: Survivor: South Pacific
I yawned. These past few premieres were better. But a good premiere doesn't necessarily promise a good season, we've seen that. Hopefully a rather bland premiere will turn out to be a bad representation of what's ahead.

I had no idea this had started. I missed the first episode.

 Re: Survivor: South Pacific
Upolu:
Christine deserved to be voted out for a number of reasons. First, telling Coach he was a "temporary player" in the first episode? Stupid. Second, making it abundantly clear you're looking for an idol at every opportunity? Also stupid. Third, she was bitchy and always scowling and I was getting bored with it. She will probably crush Semhar in the Redemption Island duel, though.
Edna's failure to lie competently was hilarious and weirdly admirable (as in, she seems like a friendly and nice woman probably not cut out for this).
Russell Hantz's Nephew Brandon is creepy and weird. And his fixation on getting poor Mikayla voted out was even creepier and weirder. Glad it didn't work. Like, Russell is gross, but his nephew actually skeeves me out much more. Yay for rampant misogyny.
Albert is very good looking and well-spoken. He needs to go far, and probably will.
Savaii:
Ozzy found an idol without a clue. They don't even bother trying to hide those things on this show anymore.

 Re: Survivor: South Pacific
We are four episodes in and there's nothing interesting going on.
I love how Brandon's description is Russell Hant's nephew. LOL. What does he even do for living???

 Re: Survivor: South Pacific
I think they need do a season with no team division at the start - all 16 players competing against each other right off the bat. It'd be a nice fresh breath of air into the regular Survivor strategy.

 Re: Survivor: South Pacific
I guess I could sorta see the logic in voting out Elyse, but I wish these people had taken the opportunity to, you know, VOTE OZZY OUT INSTEAD. Meh.
Keith and Whitney voting for Dawn was pretty wimpy, though. Like...who cares if you piss off Ozzy...you don't need him anymore. And it probably would just piss Dawn off if they didn't tell her beforehand. I can take or leave Cochran, but Dawn is really likable and Jim is surprisingly fun (and oddly semi hot with scruff). Oh, and Ozzy still doesn't really know how to play the game...the bad social game looks to return in full force.
Blessedly little of creepy and weird Lil Hantz.
Stacey kind of brought the funny but is so typical of the female African-American representation of this show. With few exceptions (Cirie and Taj), they are portrayed as loudmouthed, surly, and/or idiotic. Christine is apparently the Redemption Island Challenge Monster of the season.
The immunity challenge was quite possibly the grossest in 24 seasons.

 Re: Survivor: South Pacific
It is like they think voting off Ozzy is against the rules or something. I guess their thinking is the want to keep him for strength and the fish... but want to make him powerless?
Agreed on Keith and Whitney voting for Dawn was wimpy. You still betrayed Ozzy either way. I'm kinda excited to see how he reacts to this all next week.

Such a gross challenge.
LOL @ Cochrain's description of Ozzy.
This episode was good. Things were going on at least.

 Re: Survivor: South Pacific
Everyone on Upolu sucks except for Albert and Sophie. lol. It's so frustrating when logical, normal (and, in Albert's case, extremely hot) people like these two make valid cases, and then the cowboy dude decides to just ignore them and vote with the nutcases.
I hate Coach when he gets in power like this and turns into a stupid sexist douche. And let's not even talk about the horror of Lil Hantz, who is so annoying that he actually makes his uncle seem reserved in comparison. Camp life with these two must have been intolerable. I wasn't really that fond of Mikayla but a part of me hopes she comes back and makes them regret not voting out Edna.
Also, seeing Ozzy hilariously shoot himself in the foot and then crawling back was amusing.
Christine is still basically a walking scowl but her Redemption Island performance has been very impressive. She's gonna have her biggest competition yet with Mikayla, though.

I'm still waiting for this season to become interesting. This is so far the weakest season ever I think.

It's always so awkward when they screen an upcoming movie. The obviously superimposed clips inter-cut with the forced laughter...

 Re: Survivor: South Pacific
Well, those last 15 minutes were weird as hell.
I bet Ozzy loses at Redemption Island.

 Re: Survivor: South Pacific
Dear lord. I sincerely hope Ozzy loses to Christine the Redemption Island Challenge Monster and proves what a foolish move that was.
Other highlight: Sophie looking visibly bored during the screening of Jack & Jill...I love her.
This season would be redeemed if Sophie, Albert, Jim, Dawn and Keith formed some neat alliance, since they are the least offensive people. And Albert was mostly naked the entire time.

 Re: Survivor: South Pacific
Definitely the most dramatic episode so far this season.
I actually felt badly for Christine when she (finally) lost a dual. At least she went out smiling and not scowling like usual.
Cochran...hmph. On the one hand, I feel like he probably just went from being sixth in an alliance to...seventh. On the other hand, he did shake things up a lot. And really, what was Savaii expecting when all of them have treated Cochran like crap from the beginning other than Dawn? We'll see.
I still like Sophie and Albert the most.

 Re: Survivor: South Pacific
Great episode. Ya Cochran's at the bottom of the totem pole on either tribe, but at least this way he got to make a play and isn't stuck with people he doesn't like.
Brandon miraculously had somewhat of a redeeming moment standing up for the guy during Tribal Council.

 Re: Survivor: South Pacific
For a Survivor, as he claims to be, Cochran just lost 5 votes in the jury if he comes to the finals. LOL. How dumb must you be to piss people off this much?
And I feel sorry if Cochran feels the new tribe is more receptive to him. They're playing a game and once they all settle, he will annoy the hell out of them too. I know I cringe whenever he has a confessional. He really looks like a douchey geek. Those are the worst.

 Re: Survivor: South Pacific
The thing is with Cochran, he knows if Ozzy's team had the numbers to play a little, they'd ditch Cochran. But I think he knows he's screwed either way, so he'd rather make a big move for himself than slip away in two or three TCs.
I can't help it, I'm rooting for Coach. I think, unlike last season's Rob vs. Russell, this is a classic Survivor showdown between two players playing for their third time. Ozzy has learned absolutely nothing after three plays. He could still win, but it'll be pure luck. His entire "send me to Redemption" plan was the worst idea from the start, and it may have took until the next TC, but it finally blew up in his face.
Coach, meanwhile, has been so much more ingratiating. I know he still has weird Coach moments but the guy has taken a bad situation (No one wanted him on their tribe) and has formed a strong alliance. He could be (and probably will be) one of the first to go from it, but it's such a 180 from his first year where he spent more time creating a character than actually playing.
The only other people I genuinely like are Albert and Sophie. Keith is a mimbo ("I don't think Ozzy turned on me... why would he play the idol if he did?"). Jim is arrogant and unlikable. Edna is eh. Whitney is ...? Dawn is okay. Rick is a mystery. Brandon is creepy. And Cochran is completely a Survivor character. I don't really like him, but if I didn't know any better, I would think the producers created Cochran.
