Major championships (14 Wins)
1997 Masters Tournament
1999 PGA Championship
2000 U.S. Open
2000 The Open Championship
2000 PGA Championship
2001 Masters Tournament
2002 Masters Tournament
2002 U.S. Open
2005 Masters Tournament
2005 The Open Championship
2006 The Open Championship
2006 PGA Championship
2007 PGA Championship
2008 U.S. Open

Career records and statistics

1. Woods has won 71 official PGA Tour events, third all time behind Sam Snead and Jack Nicklaus.
2. Woods has won 14 majors, second all time, behind Jack Nicklaus.
3. Woods is 14-1 when going into the final round of a major with at least a share of the lead.
4. Woods owns the lowest career scoring average in PGA Tour history.
5. Woods has amassed the most career earnings of any player in PGA Tour history (even after inflation is considered).
6. Woods is one of five players (along with Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus, and Gary Player) to have won all four professional major championships in his career, known as the Career Grand Slam, and was the youngest to do so.
7. Woods is the only player to have won all four professional major championships in a row, accomplishing the feat in the 2000-2001 seasons. This feat became known as the "Tiger Slam".
8. Woods set the all-time record for most consecutive cuts made, with 142. The streak started in 1998, he set the record at the 2003 Tour Championship with 114 (passing Byron Nelson's previous record of 113 and Jack Nicklaus at 105) and extended this mark to 142 before it ended on May 13, 2005 at the EDS Byron Nelson Championship. Many consider this to be one of the most remarkable golf accomplishments of all time, given the margin by which he broke the old record and given that during the streak, the next longest streak by any other player was usually only in the 10s or 20s.
9. Woods has won a record 27.7% (71 out of 256) of his professional starts on the PGA Tour
10. Woods is the only golfer to have won the U.S. Amateur three consecutive times (1994–96).

Awards
1. Woods has been the PGA Player of the Year a record ten times.
2. Woods has been the PGA Tour Player of the Year a record ten times.
3. Woods has been the PGA Tour Money Leader a record nine times.
4. Woods has been the Vardon Trophy winner a record eight times.
5. Woods has been the recipient of the Byron Nelson Award a record nine times.

Miscellaneous
1. Woods owns a 48–4 record when holding at least a share of the lead after 54 holes, and 37-2 record when holding the outright lead.
2. Woods has only lost once when leading by more than one shot after 54 holes. Yang Yong-eun began the final round of the 2009 PGA Championship two strokes behind Woods and defeated him by three strokes.
3. Woods has a 33-8 record when leading after 36 holes in Tour events, including an 8-1 record in majors.
4. Woods has successfully defended a title 22 times on the PGA Tour, has finished runner-up 27 times, and third place 17 times.
5. Woods has spent the most consecutive and cumulative weeks atop the world rankings.
6. Woods holds the PGA Tour record for most consecutive rounds at par or better with 52. The streak began in the second round of the 2000 GTE Byron Nelson Classic and ended in the second round of the 2001 Phoenix Open. When including non-PGA Tour events, the streak was 66.
7. Woods' win at the 2005 Open Championship made him only the second golfer (after Nicklaus) to have won all four majors more than once. With his win in the 2008 U.S. Open, Woods joined Nicklaus as the only golfers to win each major at least three times.
8. Woods holds at least a share of the scoring record in relation to par in all four majors, and also holds the margin of victory record in two majors, The Masters and the U.S. Open.
9. Woods' victory at the 2006 WGC-American Express Championship, he became the first player in PGA Tour history to win at least eight times in three seasons.
10. Woods' victory in the Buick Invitational in January 2007 placed him 2nd for the longest PGA Tour win streak at 7 straight, trailing only Nelson's streak of 11 wins in 1945.
11. Woods became the first golfer to win five PGA Tour events five or more times at the 2009 BMW Championship. In order of his accomplishment: WGC-CA Championship, WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, Buick Invitational, Arnold Palmer Invitational, and BMW Championship.
12. Woods' win at the U.S. Open in 2008 made him the sixth person to win the U.S. Open three or more times, the first person to win a PGA Tour tournament on the same course seven times, and the first person to win two tournaments at the same golf course in the same season.
13. Woods has hit a combined total eighteen holes-in-one in the course of his lifetime—his first at the age of six.

I never said that he didn't used to be good at golf, I said he hates the game.

His psyche was likely permanently damaged by the mind-fuck his father instilled in him with his psycho training regime as a child. One might even say he loves winning (abstracted from golf), but based on his behavior on the course (cursing, throwing clubs, cheating, horking on the greens), it is obvious he hates golfing.

Further, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that his cheating on his wife was a subconscious strategy to allow him to take a break from playing professional golf, and ditto for his recent injuries. He's got plenty of money to now escape from his hated game, but is stuck on the slave ship of sponsorship. These were the only ways he subconsciously found to free himself from the endless torture he knew only as a four letter word: golf.

I hope the guy buys some serious therapy with his cash, and escapes from his nightmare, and hopefully one day finds happiness - - but based on how deeply rooted it is and the source being the betrayal by one of his most trusted caregivers, I don't expect his story to end well.

Watch almost every other professional golfer - - they smile, laugh, play a gentleman's game, generally appear to be having a great time on the links - - it's another world.

Everybody hates golfing. Tiger does love winning. So what's your point?

I enjoy watching Jason Day. He must hate golf too.

I don't give a shit if other golfers "enjoy themselves" while playing. I want to watch a golfer that wants to win, and hates losing.

Out of the blue...

...or to be more exact: on the NBC network broadcast this afternoon, I heard two words strung together for the first time...

<<<<<<<<<<Chubby Slam>>>>>>>>>>

You herd it hear second!

Spoiler: show
Note: No misspelling above, I intentionally spelt heard in it's homophone form solely for dramatic effect.

BTW... check out his stealth listing on Wikipedia - - search 'Chubby Chandler' - - and observe where it takes you...

Get used to it!

I'm rooting for him to be the next first time major winner.
He's finished in 2nd place the last two majors so he's really close.

Last 11 majors have been won by 11 different golfers. AMAZING!

My bet it'll be 13 straight after British Open & PGA Championship.
Hopefully Jason Day wins one of them.

Well, my pick Sergio didn't quite make it this time with his 9th place finish, but he's definitely back on track - - look for multiple wins from him in the next couple of years.

But I'm not really disappointed because Darren Clarke is a most deserving winner and played great golf this weekend!

Good win by Clarke. Pathetic back nine for Phil. And Sergio is never going to win. Ever.

Phil just couldnt sustain his charge, peaked too early in the round. I don't mind. I can't stand that douchebag anyways. Congrats to Clarke!

Cheetah's endless parade of dickheadedness continued today as he unceremoniously dumped his loyal longtime caddie Stevie Williams.

Quote:
Williams admits he has found Wednesday's axing difficult to take.

"Following the completion of the AT&T National I am no longer caddying for Tiger after he informed me that he needed to make a change," Williams confirmed. "After 13 years of loyal service needless to say this came as a shock.

"Given the circumstances of the past 18 months working through Tiger's scandal, a new coach and with it a major swing change and Tiger battling through injuries, I am very disappointed to end our very successful partnership at this time."

Phil turned pro in 1992 and has worked with Bones since 1993.

Stevie made MILLIONS off Tiger. Then sold him out during his scandal. Then caddied for someone else.
