Way too many nomination slots for best drama and comedy like 10. Its probably how Fringe slipped inside of there although it really is a good show. Well deserved placement for John Noble(Fringe) but sucks that Peter Dinklage(Game of Thrones) was left out. Well deserved for Timothy Olyphant,Walter Goggins, Margo Martindale and Katey Sagel

These are amazing. The Good Wife! Community! Modern Family! The Big Bang Theory! Noms for Courteney Cox and Busy Philipps! omg. Why can't the Emmys be like this?

The lack of any "Parenthood" love plus the ignoring of Emmy Rossum (who carries "Shameless" entirely on her shoulders and is far more impressive than William H. Macy) invalidates these, IMO.

I agree Parenthood should be nominated but to say its absence invalidates the awards is ridiculous. There's lots of good stuff here.

Nice noms for Justified and Modern Family. Big Love leaves television still being forgotten (except for Chloe's supporting actress nomination).

What the hell is with the lack of Parenthood? This show is always ignored by TV Award Shows.

Parenthood is decently acclaimed in its own right. It just suffers from the same problem Jason Katims' other show Friday Night Lights always has in regards to Emmy nominations: subtlety. Peter Krause and Lauren Graham will hopefully get nominations at some point like Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton finally did.

In all fairness, FNL does get quite a few TCA nominations in the past and has a very good metacritic score from previous seasons. I cant speak for Parenthood but season 1 was hardly fresh with a 61 metascore. I fully understand that the first seasons of any show is usually judged more strictly because of a much larget pool of reviews but I cant tell if theres a huge improvement over its season 2 quality since theres only 4 professional reviews for it. From looking at the golden derby forums, the consensus seems to be that Terriers, In Treatment, Treme, Southlands, and Blue Bloods round out the top 15

Parenthood lacks any kind of buzz. It goo but not great to have critics rave about it, and it's good, but not great to have just a decent audience for NBC.

I dunno, it has its fans. It was all over EW's "wish list" or whatever for the Emmys, for example. Not that it will get a single nomination. But it's a quality show, which became readily apparent in season 2, and at least some people have noticed.

So is the consensus that the emmy nomination locks for best drama are Mad Men, Boardwalk Empire and The Good Wife with Dexter most likely getting in while the last two slots being fought between Friday Night Lights, The Killing, Justified and Game of Thrones?

I don't think The Killing has any chance at all. Too much backlash from the horrible finale.

That probably sounds right. Mad Men, Boardwalk Empire and The Good Wife are 100% locked.

No Game of Thrones either. I don't care how much the people love their show, it's not an Emmy show. Just ask fans of The Wire, Battlestar Galactica, Buffy, etc etc etc. The Emmys have a strict "dress code" of dramas, and Game of Thrones is way overdressed. Or under-dressed.

The difference this time is that GoT is based on highly acclaimed series of books - it's not making its case from the scratch. Before LotR the case would be that Oscar has a strict dress code too. Look what happened. I think GoT is a serious dark horse in his race.

Maybe... I picture it as a Golden Globe contender. Too many traditional dramas that are good traditional dramas for the Emmys to nominate GoT out of left field.

We'll see. I am all for "outside the box" nominees. Love "House". Don't want to see it nominated again.

House is definitely not getting nominated after the poor reception the last season got. I expect The Good Wife to be the only network drama nominated.

Yeah, I feel like this season of "House" was pretty universally hated.

Care to explain True Blood last year? I think the difference is that GOT doesnt play at all like a fantasy drama. There were only two instances of CGI being used like in the first episode and the very last episode. If you were to compare it, its more more similiar to say historical epics like Braveheart, Rob Roy and Gladiator than Lords of the Rings. Im not saying its any lock it will be Emmy nominated but every episode definately blogged quite alot from major entertainment sites like Variety, Entertainment Weekly and zapittv just like Lost was back then

House is like in its 6th season. Hardly any shows that go on for that long gets any entry.
