I think I did?
I said yes when you asked about the make-up of the team. And yes I am looking forward to the Yankees series. I always enjoy opening day at Fenway.

LOL...Well, I forgot you are not used to winning teams! Do I have a problem with how they've played over six games? Absolutely. Do I think they will play like this for all 162 games? No. I'll give them a month of .500 baseball before I begin to get really concerned or ask for Francona's head.

Re: 2011 Major League Baseball Discussion
I hate when people use stats like "Extremely rare for a team to start like this and even just make the playoffs".
Do you know why? Because those teams that start like that usually SUCK. Like the Pirates. Everyone, besides Grill, knows that this is one of the best rosters in the league.
Yankees 2010 went on SEVEN stretches where they lost 3 or more games in a row. TWO of those were 4 game streaks in SEPTEMBER. So...

Going to the Big A for the opening game (my first opening day game I will ever attend). Hope the rain doesn't make it too difficult.

Do you know why? Because those teams that start like that usually SUCK. On the flipside, actual great teams do not start like this for a reason. Cause great teams don't lose the first six games of the season. Whatever you say! Because you know so much about everything.

Here you go Grill: http://scores.espn.go.com/mlb/boxscore?gameId=310408102Your Yankees lost to a WINLESS team. That's worse than losing 6 in a row!

Manny officially retires. I guess he wanted to run away before getting caught again. See ya, hope the door hits you on the way out. Interesting that the Angels are the last team to face him (with Kevin Jepsen being the last pitcher to face him).

Re: 2011 Major League Baseball Discussion
If you say so, Dippy, the Clueless One. Anyway, lucky the Red Sox got to a pitcher who probably won't stay in the regular rotation. As he was the only one they hit bad. Now, as I told all Red Sox idiots, their pitching sucks. And that continued with weekend with Lackey and Clay B. Or can the Red Sox replace most of their starters. LOL. Anyway, today it is 9-4 yanks over Red Sox, so far.

My AL East Predictions
Red Sox (No Injuries and some even stronger new players, they are the team to beat) Baltimore (Gotta love them having the best record in the league the final month, and they only look to improve) Tampa Bay and Toronto and Yankees all have some serious issues this year, but I think we will once again have a cutthroat division for the most part.
Can't wait for the season to start off, especially with the new inter league match ups BAH HAH!!! O YEAH LAST YEAR THE RED SOX WERE SO DISADVANTAGED...NOPE THEY SUCKED AS I TOLD YOU ...JUST LIKED THEY SUCK THIS YEAR.... PS...WHY IS GUN ALWAYS WRONG? CHECK MY SIGNATURE! OR THE RED SOX'S 1-7 RECORD, SO FAR!

OR THE RED SOX'S 1-7 RECORD, SO FAR! They were without Beckett, Ellsbury (for the year), Pedroia, and Youkilis for significant portions of the season and 19 players in all were on the disabled list at one point. The Pedroia and Youkilis injuries also occurred right before August and killed any chances of a shot at the postseason. Despite that they still managed 89 wins. Forget the 19 who were on the DL throughout the year, but if Beckett was healthy in the first half, and Pedroia and Youkilis were able to come back in the last two months, chances are they would've won 100 games. This year though, so far, has been a different story. Their pitching has just been awful for the first eight games. Based on just last year alone though, they won't pitch like that throughout the entire year. They (everyone, not just the rotation) just need to stay relatively healthy. And if they do stay like this through at least the first half, then they need to seriously think about replacing Francona. I don't think it's going to come to that though.

The Red Sox are obviously only going to win 20 games this year.

No, I don't think you were too far off with your first guess. I was thinking 15.

No, I don't think you were too far off with your first guess. I was thinking 15. Whatever Dude, trying to joke about it..but for a team that was expected to win the World Series...as they used their $ from the Evil Empire to sign players...going 1-7 is a big concern....as the hitters aren't hitting...and the pitchers are getting hit...LOL... Anyway...like I said as an expert analyzing the team...Crawford is a concern, the pitching is a concern and the relievers are a concern. I bet alot of teams would have loved to give out all the long term contracts the Evil Empire Red Sox have given the last 2 years, to all those hand picked players. PS> Dippy is a waste, who is just a post whore

If anything Cameron should have played left...or not have been singed at all.

Grill, there is no point in wasting my time to give you a thorough post, because you won't even respond to it. All you do is quote yourself and say "w/e Dippy".

Quote: andf a player like Belte had a big year, last year...which is a big loss this year I'm guessing Gonzalez and Crawford will combine for more then what Beltre (a great surprise for the Sox) did last year. Quote: And Beckett was a big cause of them losing last year. ASs when he came back, he didn't pitch very good... 6-6 after he came back. Chances are he still had some lingering effects from the back injury that fucked with his form. I'm guessing he's still going through some of that right now. Quote: And I blame Ells injury on the REd Sox...as he should have stayed in Center from Day 1. If anything Cameron should have played left...or not have been singed at all. As much as I didn't like the Cameron move, the Red Sox aren't to blame for Ellsbury's injury. He broke his ribs while diving for a ball. He just as easily could've done the same in center.

MORE LATER AS I AM LEAVING ...BUT LOL...AS YOU ARE COMBINING 2 PLAYERS STATS FOR BELTE...AND SORRY BUT PLAYING A YOUNG PLAYER OUT OF POSITION, MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE. So I do blame them for starting Ells out of position..when he was a very good CF. Nd on Beckett, as I told Gun last year, Beckett is usually an injury plagued pitcher with a not great .600 winning % except for a couple of times in his career. And Laugh at the Red Sox young fill-ins from last year...but I remember them hitting some big homers last year and hitting 30 for parts of the season.

Grill wrote: MORE LATER AS I AM LEAVING ...BUT LOL...AS YOU ARE COMBIINING 2 PLAYERS STATS FOR BELTE Christ you're dumb. That's the point. Your point was that losing Belt[b]Re is going to hurt the Red Sox this year. My point was that these two players will more than make up for the loss of Beltre, unless they get hurt. Gonzalez alone should be able to duplicate (at least) what Beltre did. How does that hurt the Red Sox? Quote: ...AND SORRY BUT PLAYING A YOUNG PLAYER OUT OF POSITION, MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE. In making an error maybe, but not an injury that occurs when you dive after a ball. How did moving him from center to left cause him to break his ribs? He made the same decision he would've made if he were playing in center or in right. Being out of position didn't cause his injury. The impact of landing on his ribs caused the injury.
