Didnt see a thread on the show, only the one from 2 years ago. The trailer looks really awesome and I only read up to #10 of the comic books

I still dont know how much gore AMC could get away from it since its not HBO or Showtime

Solid premiere. Since this is the set-up used in seemingly every zombie movie it took a while before I was that into it. Could have gone without a horse being brought into it only to be viciously eaten by zombies. Poor horse :P. I prefer my zombies to only eat people. This happening towards the end left a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth. Still a good episode though and I'll keep watching. It's a well-made show. I expect record ratings for the premiere.

It's cool to see Andrew Lincoln getting work. I loved him in LOVE ACTUALLY. He's a cutie.

Solid show so far but I still think it should belong in HBO/Showtime. So far they didnt deviate much from the comic book in story and gore so we would see were it goes ( I do somewhat recall the horse eating was more brutal because the comic book shows it being alive when being eaten including the whole disembowment)

First episode was great, seems like this is the new show to follow after how dissapointing Boardwalk Empire is turning out.

Biggest debut for any cable show this year.

Imagine if the first episode wasnt leaked in the net few weeks in advance, it probably would have been significantly higher

As far as new-age zombie stuff goes, this was pretty good. It felt like one of the first times a piece has ever focused on the idea of what being a zombie actually means in the metaphysical/spiritual/psychological sense, which I know sounds super lame but was actually pretty impactful. Darabont is still a hamfisted cheese-monger, though.

Loved the pilot. So many little things I enjoyed, including (but not limited to): Rick's breakdown at home, Morgan unable to shoot his wife in the head, the overall grim, hopeless feeling of the situation. It felt grim and hopeless without feeling too dark.

I have to admit, however, that I enjoyed it more when it was Rick, Morgan and his son. I hope the additional characters don't make it feel cluttered.

I really don't think it would have made a significant difference.

I'm going to watch tonight's episode, but if there's more animal violence I may just stop watching this show :P.

Sorry, but that's not entertaining to me. Too disturbing. Besides, the first episode wasn't that great anyway. So it remains to be seen if it improves. I'll check out the new one at midnight tonight when it airs again.

Tonight's episode rocked! Definitely better than the pilot. Now I can't wait for next week's and am disappointed the first season is only 6 episodes.

This is definitely AMC's first miss acting-wise, but it's paced like a motherfucker so it hardly matters. The second ep had too many stupid moments and stupid characters, though - the pilot was superior.

The pilot was ridiculously better than that pretty "meh" second episode. The tone, visuals, characters, story--everything saw a rather large drop-off from the first to second episode, I think, but I hear things improve again with the third one.

Michael Rooker's character in the second episode was kind of awful. That blatant setup with the saw being set free near him screams "RETURN!!" and I could really do without that. All those department store survivors were played by a bunch of people not too skilled at the acting. Glenn and his "funny" lines were a bit too much, as well. I prefer the solitary somberness of the pilot to the rather generic zombie action of the second episode, but I'm not going to jump ship or anything. Oh, and that batch of survivors with Rick's wife and ex-partner is "meh" so far as well.

Also, I wish the living people looked crappier than they do. For a zombie apocalypse everyone seems to still find time to do their TV friendly hair & makeup ;)

I'm just liking the show more in theory than I actually am on an enjoyment level so far. As long as by the time S2 comes around they'll have figured out what works and what doesn't I'm good.

Yeah, this show is better in theory than it is in practice. It's a cool idea for a show. I liked the first episode a lot, but not a shit ton, and the second ep way less so.

And I hate the way they are having him get to the camp where his wife and son are at. He just happens upon a group who'd come into Atlanta to get shizz? He saves dey asses and then gets to the camp, where OMGZ BABEHS ITZ U!!!!!

Please. I want to like the show, but I dunno. It could be good. Glad it was renewed.

Another excellent episode tonight. They need to hurry with Season 2. The first season is way too short.

I liked this better. I wish the black dad and his son would come back soon, tho. I still don't know like, anyone's names.

But I gotta tell ya'll all right nau. 6 episodes are not a season. That is bullshit. Not even for a cable season. I don't curr if you planned it like that. I wouldn't buy a 6 episode season set on Blu-ray for $15.

9 episodes is a respectable cable season. 6 makes me go "LAWL. That's all da ideas u had?"

that or its on AMC that has a limited budget and didn't want to risk a ton of money on a high concept show that had huge potential to bomb.

That's ridiculous, considering new movies that are only an hour and a half to 2 hours cost more than that. This is still 240+ Minutes of entertainment for less money.
