Christ, how long this game gonna go. 15th inning already. This game would have been over 2 hrs ago if Joe West did not blow that call.

Jesus, that series against the Rays was nuts. 52 runs/ 13 home runs. The Sox have really just been amazing this year with what they have. Scuturo hits 2 homeruns with a torn rotator cuff. Lowell' has about 6 RBI's and has been playing first base with a fractured rib. Reddick and Kalish are looking really good. It's such a shame to not see this team at 100% this year. I have a feeling Yankees are gonna choke out of first and WC and CWS are gonna take it instead, that was atrocious against Baltimore. Poor managing by Baltimore, they should have stuck with their 8th inning pitcher.

LOL at Gun who is still showing that NY Hate.

And Gun, so the Yanks are going to blow 10 game lead with like 22 to go to Chicago.

Nope!

And Gun, you do realize that Boston is closer to the WC than Chicago.

Anyway, for the Yanks, the big question is how Petiette comes back from his injury.

Its not NY Hate, they have 6 games against the Sox, 7 against TB, 3 against Texas, 3 against Toronto, and 3 against Baltimore (Id give them winning that series, but after this weekend, even thats not a given) I would not be surprised if Yankees went like 7-15 during this last stretch. They certainly have their work cut out for them.

So still as Chicago are 10 losses behind, let see then if Chicago can win 18 of their last 22.

With Manny, anything is possible, they did just have a 10+ game winning streak. Its basically Yankee's season to blow at this point. And the Red Sox are not terribly out, but they really need a huge winning streak or a 16-6 record to make any waves. They can certainly stop the Yankees or Rays from getting in and another team stealing it.

I think Boston also has 4 left with Chicago. So let's go Boston. Right? As I would hope you will be rooting for your Boston Red Sox.

Of course I'll root for them. No other team has done a better job this season. They were the best team from May to July with half their starters (and irreplaceable to the roster) gone. Francona without a doubt deserves manager of the year. If they can at least come close at the end, I'll be happy and ready for next year. IF lowell retires and we drop JD Drew, that'll be an extra 27 million to secure Martinez and Beltre, and Ortiz will most likely get the same if not a little more.

Really wish you would drop the injury talk. I would rather hear how disappointing that they blew getting the WC in August as the starting pitchers and relievers blew like 6 games in August alone.

First all teams have injuries and players miss games.

so Arod, Granderson and Posoda offset Youkollis, Peroria and Martinez

and Nick Johnson with a career 400 OBP offsets Ells

and the Yankees have managed the best record in baseball all year.

and I am not even going to count Cameron as I thought he was a horrible signing and the Red Sox had a number of rookies that filled in with good/great years. And also because I thought Ells should have stayed in center so that was stupid play of the manager/GM.

and PS, from May to July the Red Sox and the Yankees played even ball....so the REd Sox were at best tied with the Yankees for being the best team in baseball...

Grill, its not even a debate. Posada is over the hill, Granderson is (Seriously??) and Arod was out for maybe 10 days? And they all have A list back ups. Not only did the starters (Who are better than most Yankee starters) be out an entire year, or at the most half the season, most good backups were injured too, we called in about 4 rookies as starters. The Yankees may not have been at 100% the entire year (at least 90% the entire season as none of the injuries were at the same time) The Red Sox have been at a disadvantage since Game 5, and have been in the 40-60% all year. You are just being ridiculous, and the pitching has been good, but your only as good as your hitting staff.

See you don't even know. Arod has missed over 30 games this year. And all I mentioned are close on games out except Pederoia has some more.

And the end result is, the Yankees planned on those players being starters with a planned lineup. And notice how you keep ignoring Nick Johnson.

But lastly you keep on making excuses on the Yankees having better bench players. So again that goes on the GM and Manager for setting up the team that way.

Especially since when I looked earlier in the year, the Red Sox had the #2 highest salary in baseball.

And lastly again, if the Red Sox didn't blow 6 games off the top of my head with their best, they would be in WC contention. So it is past the time to talk about injuries. (2 ninth inning losses by the closers and then big or blowout losses by 4 starters in a row.

PS. Look at the Mets a couple of years ago. They lost their closer Wagner at mid year and they lost so many late games. Then they missed the playoffs on the last day. Now losing Wagner definitely cost them but since they were in contention all year, I had to say the team didn't come through.

Yanks in Texas. I wonder if the Yanks are so scared as Gun thinks.

Also, Petiette is supposely having a great rehab so it will be nice to get back the Yanks #2 starter who has been out since the All Star break.

Ha, I'll have some fun since I'm just bored right now, I know you don't take anything like facts.

Losing one player for a season, or 3 good players at different times in the season is nothing. Teams are prepared for that. The Red Sox had 12 starters and Backups gone for the majority of the season, and even some of starters (Beckett, Lowell, Scuturo, etc) are hurt and still playing. To even grasp what a Yankees June or July would have been like for comparison.

You would Need Jeter, Cano, Gardener, Posada, Cervelli, CC, Pettiette, Jaba The Hutt, And then while these players are gone for months, you also lose Phil Hughes, AJ Burnett, and Arod for a few games each. Your hatred for the Red Sox is blinding you from how amazing that they are still a 4th place team in the AL is beyond coaching, and if a team chokes they even still have a chance. Grow a pair Grill and stop being so cliche.

Gun for the Yanks it was 1 plus 3 players. And Petiette for starters.

And you say for the majority of the season. Half the RS players have only missed 1/3 or about 40 games.

And again you don't mention how great the RS fill in players did. That is what is suppose to happen.

And you don't talk about the RS pitchers who blew it in August when the WC was on the line. They could have been in front of Tampa.

And since you won't say it. I will.

Bard and Paps for blowing back to back saves.

And then those horrible starts in a row where they got blown out every game by Beckett and Lackey and Dice and yes even Lester.

PS. Aren't the Red Sox still like 6 behind Tampa.

Sorry but even with the injuries, the Red Sox had a chance to win this year but there veteran and star pitchers let them down.

Now that is a fact, Jack.

And Gun, I see Boston had another starting pitcher get bombed. So again the Red Sox players have been replaced by decent fill ins.

But as the Red Sox were supposedly built this year on pitching. LOL. It is a joke that the starting pitching has been so horrible. And when I checked weeks ago Boston team ERA was 22nd in the. League.

But this is no surprised to me. As I said before Clay and Lester are too young and unproven to be the #1 stars of the pitching staff. You should have a veteran as the #1 but Beckett, Lackey, Whitfield and Dice sure haven't done it.

And on Beckett it is rare that he ever makes it through the season with that injury ridden body of hers. So it was laughable that you said if he came back from injury and won 8 straight....lol... As how many times has he done that in his career.

So in ending, I think it should be you who needs to be more objective about the Red Sox's shortcomings.

I never said they didnt had a chance, and they have blown them, you're arguing a point that is known by everyone. My point is that you need to acknowledge the sox have been the most disadvantaged team all year and have still been a top team. PS, Lackey and Lester were extremely overworked when Beckett, Bucholtz, and Dice, and a few relievers were hurt, Wakefield is not a reliable starter anymore. Now they are still trying to recover. The pitching staff is easily the most disappointing thing for the Sox this year, but not terrible. Just not great enough for those really clutch situations.

Oh and good job Yanks- 1-4 so far for the last month, Rays and Sox 2-3, White Sox 3-3

Gun, Gun, Giun. So boo hoo for the poor Red Sox.

So again a question for Theo, why is Wakefield still on the team. But anyway, I find that point to be BS as all teams have questionable pitchers on the team at 345. I know the Yankees have the best record in baseball with 2 great pitchers. 1 that has been on the DL half the year and lots of other so so ones.

And these over worked pitchers. Did they go on early rest? Cause I looked and the Red Sox don't have any pitchers in the top 15 of innings pitched.

Maybe, it goes to the point that I made about the young pitchers not being ready to carry the load.

Look back to August when the Red Sox got bombed with Beckett and Lackey on the mound. They needed a big game from Lester. And Lester gave up 8 runs in 2 innings.

and Gun, just like the Yankees, big market teams have to play through these injuries!!!! How many small market teams would love to pick up as many high market stars as the Red Sox. Which the Red Sox have been doing since 2000 when they signed Manny to 20 Million a year!

and that is why the great New York Yankees have made the playoffs 14 out of 15 years, you have to field a 25 man team, not a 9 man team.
