I loved all those "Beat LA" chants the Ranger fans were shouting. Rivalry? Funny that we are not even from LA, but it is a good marketing ploy. See you next weekend, in our home.

Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Discussion
Yeah, the only promising thing to come out of this road trip for the Sox is Josh Beckett's performance which was all the more surprising considering how long he was out for. Other than that the road trip has pretty much taken them out of the division race. Even though they're as banged up as they are, it's pretty much inexcusable to lose two out of three to the Mariners.
At least V-Mart is returning tonight. He might give the lineup the much needed boost they need.

Haren was doing great, until a big bully, known as Youk, hurts him out of the day. I see Roid Rage in this team.
On the brighter side, congrats to Garza for the first no-hitter in Rays hitting. Guess they were sick of being the victims of those.

2 Homers for Ortiz, Martinez gets an RBI first game back, and Bucholtz pitched much better than his first time back. That sucks about Haren though.

Haren had 8 K's until that point. Not even through 5 innings!

And maybe he wouldn't have gotten hurt if he could field his position. Maybe he should go out there with the batting practice net. But like I said before, he is a good #5 for some teams.

Chipo DiCaprio wrote: You're a fucking idiot. Chipo my lad. Facts are facts. You brag about his strike outs. Which aren't really a great thing as the pitcher ends up throwing more pitchers, unless he lasts longer without giving up big hits. And he gave up a homer and he left while his team was losing. And a good pitcher has to set himself to field his position better.

Beckett wins 2 in a row, Martinez and Bucholtz are effective for the sweep of the Angels, and of all people Scutaro hits a grand slam.

Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Discussion
This was kinda an unfair series. The Red Sox Players (V-mart and Beckett) came back healthy by the time they played us, but their Texas played them, they were still banged up. I am sure if Beckett was still on the DL, we would have faced Wakefield (like Texas did, twice). And Youk hurting Haren, and Joel getting hurt before the game, meaning the bullpen had to play the entire time. Also in game two, the umpire kinda rigged it for us to lose (a pitch at the knees from Weaver was a ball, but the exact same pitch by Lackey was called a strike, then some of Lackey's pitches outside the strike zone was called a strike).

0.334 BA, 14 HR, 79 RBI. Delmon Young, the best hitter of the Twins so far except the injured Morneau. This season he is becoming the kind of player that Twins expected two years ago.
P.S. Still not many BBs but much less Ks.

Yankees. Still playing great. Only question is whether they will hold on for another World Series win/championship.

Phillies get Oswalt. Quote: UPDATE (1:35 pm): Basically official. J.A. Happ, Vance Worley, and Anthony Gose to Houston for Roy Oswalt and $11 million. Wow. http://www.thegoodphight.com/Love this trade, but Ruben Amaro still has a long way to go to amend for getting rid of Cliff Lee.

Yup a good trade and I agree as I said last year the Phillies should have done things differently to keep Cliff Lee - who is just a winner.

Phills pitching lineup is sick!
Now they just need to start putting up some runs.

Now they just need to start putting up some runs. Well, after Halladay/Oswalt/Hamels it drops off significantly, esp. with Moyer injury. Here's hoping they go after Lee again next year. He loved Philly and the fans loved him too.

Yankees making a bunch of trades to just shore up their bench and rest starting players through the last 2 months.
Should be interedting how it turns out.

Dam, great end to the game even if we lost, Ortiz Grandslam in the 9th was awesome. Lineup is still lacking though, we need some better players at the end of the lineup, I wish Lowell was back it would have been a perfect Pinch Hit job for him to win in the 9th.

Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Discussion
Watched like end of the Boston Game at the bar. Is Clay a baby? Didn't tip his hat to the fans when he got pulled in the 9th, even though they gave him a standing O. And then stormed off the bench and into the tunnel when Paps blew his game. As the 9th was still going on, think he should have stayed on the bench to support the team.
And in the 10th, the ump gave Boston, a 4-0 walk even though 3 of the pitches hit the lines of the strike camera. And boy was the Detroit manager mad. I can see most of the pitches but for the ump to call ball on a very close 3-0 count is a joke.
And another reason why I hate all umps.

The game only went 9 innings Grill
This is going to be an interesting week. With who all three are playing this week, I could see All 3 teams within in 3 games of each other.
