So Yanks n Mets pretty Sweet.
And Halladay sure didn't look like the best in baseball. But that was against a good team as Yanks homer the sht out of him.

So amazing to watch teams when they are playing great or shitty.
Watching the Mets who are rolling right now and a game out of 1st. It looks they are taking batting practice during the game.

Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Discussion
Can't believe the clueless Red Sox fans at Fenway who dare boo Manny.
Who only was the major reason for both Red Sox Championships. Or the Red Sox would be like 0 for 99 and looking for their first win in 100 years.
And Manny shows them, with a hit, stolen base and a run scored.
Nice going Manny.

Wow, these Cubs are a joke. Can't hit, can't play defense and a lousy bullpen. No wonder why my Angels pound them hard today.

Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Discussion
Manny Homers. Very Nice.
But truthfully a homer or even a hit in Fenway isn't that hard. The Green Monster stands 300 feet away where even a average hitter should be a great average hitter. And even the right field pole allows a 300 foot homer.
Think I will have to get back to Gun on the best hitter ever as any hitter that has ever played in Fenway has to be downgraded.

Fenway Park LF - 310 LC - 379 CF - 389 to 420 (triangle) RC - 380 RF - 302
Yankee Stadium LF - 318 LC - 399 CF - 408 RC - 385 RF - 314
Grill, when you go over those Red Sox hitters be sure to also downgrade every Yankee to have played at both Yankee Stadiums.

When you go over those Red Sox hitters, be sure to downgrade every Yankee to play at both Yankee Stadiums. Not sure what your point is expecting proving that Yankee stadium is bigger except for the point of the triangle. And sure hope that you admit that the Green Monster unfairly adds to batting averages.

Dustin wins it for Boston. He sure is a tough player.
And Fenway sure didn't want to see Manny bat in the 10th.

Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Discussion
It's interesting how 95% of baseball stadiums are about the same size.
Boston is in that 95%.

And sure, the Green Monster unfairly (?? has it been banned by baseball yet? ) adds to batting averages, just like it "unfairly" takes away from power numbers. Most balls that go halfway up the wall are gone at Yankee Stadium. The difference in length from left to right in Fenway is a "whopping" 28 feet (whopping if both parks were formed on straight lines). From right to center, Fenway has the advantage by 17 feet. And both foul poles aren't vastly different from one another. So basically, Yankee Stadium(s) is bigger than Fenway by only, and when you compare both to other stadiums across the league like Chip points out, most equal out.

You talk like 15 to 28 feet are no big deal. Well if you watch baseball games, then balls in front or on the warning track become homers at Fenway. And the green monster is famous for the pop out homer that is an out at another stadium aka like the famous Bucky Dent homer. And there are the famous stories where some people claim that the green Monster isn't as far out as the number says.
