Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Discussion
Phillies should easily get to the playoffs but the key is to win the WS. Wondering how a Yankee-Phillies WS would be, Best Match-Up???

Yes, it should be very easy for them to win their division since they virtually have no competition in the NL East.

Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Discussion
As much as I hate the Yankees, that was a nice moment between Matsui and his former teammates. And I'm sick of these days off. What is this now four days off for the Sox to open the year? A little bit of consistency would be nice to start off the year. Oh, and Target Field seems like it's a gem. The only problem is that the Twins organization might want to already consider a paint job over the limestone. First game there and they already had a replay on a possible home run call for a ball hit between the left field wall and foul pole. I couldn't find a better photo of the wall, but anyways, for some reason an architect or someone involved with the planning thought it was a good idea to have the wall color almost the exact color a baseball is. Any other color except for white would've been a better choice.

Nice sweep of the Jays by the Angels. Santana was one strike away from shutout, but still gets a complete game. Three quality starts in a row too. Let's keep this streak up.

Not going to do full record predictions because it's too time consuming a boring, so I'll just rank em' in how I think the divisions will wind up.
AL EAST 1. Red Sox - If the rotation stays healthy. 2. Yankees 3. Rays 4. Orioles 5. Blue Jays - They'll have the worst record in baseball this year.
AL CENTRAL 1. Twins 2. Tigers 3. White Sox 4. Royals 5. Indians
AL WEST 1. Mariners 2. Angels 3. Rangers 4. A's -- This is going to be a fun division race to watch. The Mariners, Angels and Rangers all have a shot of winning it.
NL EAST 1. Phillies 2. Braves 3. Marlins 4. Mets 5. Nationals -- Wow. Didn't realize it until just now, but the NL East is awful outside of the Phillies.
NL CENTRAL 1. Cardinals 2. Reds 3. Astros 4. Brewers 5. Cubs 6. Pirates
NL WEST 1. Dodgers 2. Diamondbacks 3. Giants 4. Rockies 5. Padres - They'll trade Gonzalez either before or after the deadline and then they'll completely fall off the map. No Time to Debate/Explain, so will just say, Yankees should be #1. Yanks playing well and starting to roll. Sorry to Red Sox Nation but I just don't like that team. Wonder what Theo was thinking? Especially LF, CF and 3rd. and on the Sox pitching, think there biggest problem is not having a true great #1 pitcher to carry the team. Beckett must make it through the season with injury and Lester, Clay, Dice aren't close to a #1 yet. and Tampa sure looked good this weekend.

You do realize there is more than 100 games left in the season, right?

Nice sweep by the Rays. That'll teach Lackey not to mess with the monkey.

5 in a row baby. 5 quality starts in a row (not bad for a $30m combind salaries, least then what they are paying for two Yankee starters).

As the angels are the 5th highest spending team in baseball. So there are 25 teams who should be crying about the angels spending. Start with the 19 million to torri hunter and the matsui money. Anyway. Angels Yanks so let's see how the weekend goes.

Anyway, this will be an interesting series, because it's basically a rematch cause the rotation is basically the same as the last series. Hopefully the Angels can take two in this series to even things up.

Halladay against the National League is like a tank firing on little asian people with sticks
4-0, 0.82 ERA, 28 strikeouts, 3 walks, 2 complete games
The walks is the most amazing. THREE

The walks is the most amazing. THREE Yes the stats are sick but one thing that has to be remembered in him changing from the al to the nl. He probably will face a pitcher over 2 times a game. That about 75 times this year. I wonder how many hits or non strike-outs will happen in those 75 at bats.

Great game today. K-mo proven to be the Yankee killer the past two seasons. One of the best experiences I've had at the Big A, especially the altercation with the Spankee fans.

Cubs did a nice job over the weekend. I'm happy they got some offense going and maybe that will help their confidence and hitting in future games. I like the Zambrano move for now.

Wow, 3 hits for Brandon Wood. He's finally getting those nerves out of his mind.

Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Discussion
On the Yankees, not sure what happened in Angel series. Funny went out to eat and watched the 1 game they won where Petiette pitched a great game.
Guess every team has to finally lose a series, as the Yankees finally do.
But basically, there were 1 or 2 players which screwed up that series for them. So they better shape up very quickly!

Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Discussion
and on the Mets, nice to see them playing good. Like in 2005 when they should have played in WS except for Willie, the manager.
and then injuries killed them for years...but gotta blame the GM for some stupid moves....but Santana Wagner, Beltran, Reyes and others on the DL killed them in the past.
Now just have to hope that there core staff doesnt get hurt and they will be OK with some little extra from the others.
Should be interesting where they end up.......
