... Go Browns!

Not Mike Browns though. If there were an entire team of Mike Brown's I don't think they would ever win a game.

Lebron is talented but doesn't have the mentality to lead a team to a championship, the preassure clearly got to him this year.
The thing that made Jordan the best ever is that not only did he play at a godly level in the Regular season but that in the playoffs he upped to an even higher level of play and made his teamates better than they really were.
Lebron's teamates play very well during the RS as their record show but fold in the playoffs and thats the mark of a mediocre leader.
Going to chicago? Nah, Lebron would crumble under MJ's shadow.

There's a story floating around Delonte has been sleeping with Lebron's mom and it came out before Game 4... probably fake but still... lmao

If he wants to win a championship, Chicago by far makes the most sense. Looking at the Lebron contenders:

New York: Can get Lebron and one other heavy hitter, but that's it... the rest of the team is really weak. I don't see a team like that winning anything.

Cleveland: Not enough young talent. Too much money tied up in over the hill players that are only going to get worse, and they have no room to move. Cleveland looks doomed to failure for at least 3-4 more years.

Chicago: Good young supporting cast, and Rose and Noah would be more than able to take some heat off Lebron. The cast has proven to be pretty scrappy and talented. They look like a Lebron away from serious contention. The MJ pressure would be the only hitch, but that's only going to be a problem if he can't get a ring there.

Miami: Never will happen. Too much ego at play, and Miami will always be more of Wade's team. If Lebron wins there, it'll look like he rode Wade's coattails.

New Jersey: No way in hell does he go there. Far too many issues.

LA Clippers: Decent-ish supporting cast and a good potential rookie, but I just can't see this happening.... it's the Clippers.

If I was Lebron, Chicago would look like the best option, by far.

If the Hawks win, I'll be 7-1 in the first round, with the Nuggets being my only downfall.

My adjusted 2nd round pick:
Lakers over the Jazz in 6

And then Suns over Lakers in 7 for the next round.

I was 3-1 in round 2, so I'm 10-2 so far.

Adjusting the next round for the Celts victory, which I did not predict correctly:

Orlando over Celtics in 6 (I initially had Orlando over Cleveland in 6)
I still have the Suns over the Lakers in 7 (I originally had Suns over Nuggets).

So my pre-postseason Finals prediction of the Suns over the Magic in 6 is still going to happen!

Bynum said today his knee is getting worse, not better. At this point I feel pretty confident a Bosh Bynum S&T is going to happen, I don't see any way LA prefers Bynum to Bosh with all these injuries now and I'm fairly confident Bosh would love to play on the Lakers... they have the team, coach, and Bosh is big on his media brand so there's no better market for that. For us I'm pretty sure Colangelo will take a super injury risk Bynum over anything Chicago or Miami can offer like Michael Beasley or Taj Gibson, it sucks that he's a Mr. Glass but our backs are against the wall for getting any real value out of this, it's still the best we can get by far. Colangelo is big on selling fans on flashy summer moves so you'd have to think Bynum would be 1000x easier to swallow for casual fans than Beasley

Any chance Cavs trade for Bosh? Bosh doesn't want to stay on Toronto...maybe they could be fooled into taking Boobie, Hickson, Jamison, and a future draft pick.

Bosh plus a new coach could keep LeBron. I mean, he pretty much gets what he wants as is -- and that'll be true wherever he goes, but I still think it's a long way to a 60-wins season anywhere else except maybe Chicago.

A win is a win and to get the first win of the series, on the road, it's big. And it's a good thing we got this one because it seemed like the Magic got back into full game form in the 4th. The Celtics too have a much better game in them. If they play like they did today in Game 2, the series will definitely be tied coming back to Boston. But, we got the win today and that's all that matters.

we will have to see how the series turns out as that 4th quarter might have given the magic confidence and a new life that they didn't have after the first 3 quarters.

I think we'd rather let Bosh sign to a team with capspace straight up, than take back Jamison. With that said there's a camp of people who think these max FAs can choose wherever they want to go in the whole league and the GMs will have to cooperate or they'll be agent blackballed... but I don't really buy it, or else there wouldn't be the fuss in NY and Chicago about dumping those contracts at the deadline.

In short I think the chance of Bosh getting dealt to Cleveland is more or less the same as Lebron or Wade going to Orlando for Vince Carter's contract... probably not impossible, but unlikely. Bosh will probably go to

LA
Miami
Chicago
Houston
New York (if he has a wink wink with Lebron)

As much as i dislike the Celtics for knocking out the Cavs, i LOVE that Dwight Howard is having that cocky, shit-eating grin wiped off his face!

Uh, based on what happened with the Bruins, I wouldn't be ready to declare a Finals match-up just yet (Magnus... :disgust: ). But, there's no way around it. This was a big win for the Celtics and an even bigger loss for the Magic. And still, I don't think either team has played up to their potential just yet. And if the Magic have with both of those runs in each game...well, they're going to have to find another gear.

And how the hell is it considering the Celtics history, that they've never opened up a series on the road and won both games, until tonight? It seems odd considering their success.

Kobe has the most to gain from these playoffs. Five rings puts him above Shaq and TD and I think makes him the clear-cut best player since MJ. I also think it probably secures himself as a top 5 player of all time (Russell, Bird, Magic, and Jordan would be the only ones I would rank ahead).

I also think that beating the Celtics would be huge because of course, it's the biggest rivalry in NBA history, but also because most would view this Boston Celtics team to be a much better team than the Orlando Magic team from last year.

And also because this Celtics team might be better than the one that won in '08. Rondo wasn't anywhere near as effective then or as good as he is today.

The '08 team had "The Big 3" a good center, a decent point guard (who couldn't shoot), and a veteran supporting. The '10 version really has a "Big 4" now including a point guard who can do pretty much whatever the hell he wants, (except shoot free throws very well consistently) with a very good center, and a veteran supporting cast that has won previous championships with other teams (which is at least as good as what the '08 team had, especially if Wallace continues to play like he has).

If the Celtics and Lakers do meet each other in the Finals once again, it'll be a nice advantage for Kobe and the Lakers to open up at home. Then again the Celtics probably wouldn't mind considering their 5-2 on the road in the playoffs this year, and 4-1 against the Cavaliers and Magic. This is another way in which the Celtics of 2010 might be better than the Celtics team that won two years ago. The '08 version had to win at home. They had a 3-8 record on the road during those playoffs.

First round in Atlanta - No wins (Celtics win series 4-3)
Second round in Cleveland - No wins (Celtics win series 4-3)
Third round in Detriot - 2 wins (Celtics win series 4-2)
Finals in Los Angeles - 1 win (Celtics win series 4-2)

So looks like this could be a great finals. And kobe has home court adv, wants a 5th ring and wants revenge for 2008.

Can't wait for the finals. As long as neither blow there 2-0 lead.

Suns will win both at home.

Also, the 5 bad turnovers in the 4th resulted in a 20 point swing. Suns had all the momentum. Just BAD turnovers.

Also, plenty of bad calls against both teams. The officiating is getting worse as the games get more important.

Looks like the Celts want another ring. I was unsure of just how much they wanted it entering the playoffs, but after what they did to the Cavs and now the Magic (especially last night...Rondo), it's clear they really want another one.

Can't count out the Lakers though (or the Suns). Like the Celtics, they're better than the '08 version. It should be a great series, barring a massive collapse by the Celtics (I don't see how the series goes back to Orlando at this point) and the Lakers faltering (although it could happen, I don't think that series is heading back to LA.
