No, if that is so important than another reason if should have been Tex over Mauer! Yanks only were 16 games better than Minn and thus had to play 2 games in Yankee stadium, where the Twins lost both.

and again maybe if Mauer hadn't missed 53 games out of 162 the Twins might have been better!

so you can't have it both ways!

The Mariners got Figgins for a 4-year $36m deal. At least that puts Brandon Wood at third base.

Nov 2009. New York Yankees. World Series Champions.

And FYI. Oct 2010. New York Yankees. World Series Champions.

Brandon Wood is mostly a AAA player, although he has made a several Major league apperences. He hit two homeruns against Andy Pettite in one game in 2008, and hit his only homerun this year against Joba (notice a pattern). He is a power guy, as he hit 30 homeruns at AAA this year (his batting average was .290 over there). His speed and defense is great stuff too. I think he can do for third base what Kendry Morales did for first base after losing Teixiara. Good for me cause we need another power guy, and I am a Brandon Wood fan.

Yes. How awful for you to get one of the best outfielders in the game!

what is your problem with him...as long as he is good def, I am fine...as the homers will out way the low batting average against lefties. And with the other hitters on the team - he won't matter.

Halladay and his agent are apparantley in Philadelphia right now. Look for a trade to happen in the next 2 days

Rumor is it's going to be a big 3 way with the Phillies giving up Lee to a 3rd team, to get more prospects, which they'd then flip to us.

The third team is apparently the Mariners.

And the Red Sox have apparently acquired John Lackey. No money announced yet, but it's a 5-year deal. If both deals go through, it's one really bad day in Anaheim.

To Krem or the Phillies. Personally I would rather have Lee than Halladay. Especially based on the second part of last year. And just like Jason Bay on the Red Sox, don't you want the one who already did it there last year for your team.

If you'd rather Lee, you're a fool without a clue. Hamels did it for us in 2008, how'd he do in the 2009 postseason? On second thought, don't remind me.

Lee isn't a one hit wonder... but Halladay is so much better.

Apparantley we're getting the Phils #1, #3, #4 prospects (Drabek, Taylor, D'Arnaud), Philly gets Halladay and Seattle's #3 guy (Aumont) plus some Gilles guy, and like 6 mil from us, Seattle gets Lee.

I'm pretty estatic over this deal. I thought Drabek was totally off-bounds. Seattle seemed to get Lee pretty cheap too

Getting Halladay is nice for the Phils, but that's a LOT to give up. Also it kind of burns that they could've just kept Lee and done the prospects for Halladay straight up... but they essentially caved in financially. We gave them 6 mil + they save 8 mil by getting rid of Lee... so the deal is basically Philly doing their prospects for Halladay and then selling Lee for 14 mil + Aumont/Gilles. But if they go spend that 14 mil elsewhere it could make up the difference

But the deal is 100% done yet so I'll wait a few more days to really smile about it

Nice, the Angels get Matsui for 1 year/$6.5 million deal. He can replace Vlad right there as our DH. All we need is a left-handed reliever then the Angels have a complete team.

OK, Halladay probably is better. I just don't like how Halladay pitched liked crap in the second half of 2009.

and Lee, Cy Young in 2008 and great with the Phillies in 2009....I thought at least. I don't remember but didn't scheduling mess up him in the playoffs...just no one else came through on the Phillies like in 2008.

Also on Hamels, great for 2008 but to me the second year is more important! I like teams that can win it 2 years in a row...and Hamels hurt the team big time in 2009...IMO.

If the rotation stays consistent throughout the year, then the Angels do have a chance. Seattle may give us a run for our money this time. Our offense/defense looks great (1B Morales, 2B Kendrick/Izturis, 3B Brandon Wood/Izturis, SS Aybar/Izturis, C Napoli/Mathis, RF Abreu, LF Hunter, LF Rivera, and DH Matsui), and rotation has alot of depth, with Weaver, Saunders, E. Santana, Kazmir all being #2 starters, and the 5th spot will go to Matt Palmer if we don't sign another arm (after all, he did get an 11-2 record with a 3.93 ERA in his rookie year), while in the BP, we still have young arms Bulger and Jespen (with his 90mph slider), closer Fuentes, and Scot Shields will return if he is healthy. We just need to be consistent the whole year.

Also, I am both happy and sad that Lackey is going to the Red Sox. Sad that we lost him, but happy that he is at the Red Sox cause they know he has a good record against the Yankees.

LoL. I love Yankee Haters. For me. I group any of the top 5 salaried teams together as the same. Yankees just do it aliitle better based on getting the New York Benefits.

And do you all hate the New York Mets the same way.

Thinking about Eagles comments to me on cliff lee.

How many pitchers have pitched better the last 2 years than lee.

And being a lefty. That is an added bonus as hisnumbers show that he can get both lefties and righties out.
