In a way, I'm glad that this season is going to be the last because the show is going to end on a very high note.
And I agree that D.B. Sweeney that Jack killing D.B. Sweeney was more shocking (and more badass). "You can't kill me from that angle! It's too dan-BANG" Amazing kill. Some of the best kills of the series for sure, not sure if Axe kill or taking knife from own wound and throwing into a guy's jugular was better.

The same thing was done in Taken, though, so I don't think it was that surprising.

Jack killed the fewest people on Day 1 (10).
Jack killed the most people on Day 6 (50).
Jack killed the most people in a single episode in "Day 6: 5:00am-6:00am" (14).
Jack has killed more people between 10:00pm and 11:00pm than he has in any other hour (29). With the exceptions of Day 1 and Day 2, Jack has killed at least one person during this hour in every season.
Jack has killed fewer people between 8:00am and 9:00am than he has in any other hour (only 1 person, near the beginning of Day 2).
Jack has killed at least one person in each of the 24 hours in a day (when counting across all seasons).
The longest run of consecutive episodes where Jack killed no people is the 10 episodes starting with "Day 1: 1:00pm-2:00pm."
The longest run of consecutive episodes where Jack killed at least one person in each is the 5 episodes starting with "Day 6: 6:00pm-7:00pm."
Jack's 100th kill occurred in "Day 5: 7:00am-8:00am," the show's 97th episode. This makes Jack's kill average slightly more than 1 kill per episode for the first 100 episodes.
Jack's 200th kill occurred in "Day 7: 9:00am-10:00am," the show's 148th episode. This makes Jack's kill average slightly more than 1.3 kills per episode for the first 150 episodes.
According to George Mason's summary of the report from agent Karris, Jack killed four other terrorists during "Day 1: 11:00pm-12:00am" but these were not on-screen kills.
Only three of Jack's on-screen kills (approximately 1%) have been women: Nina Myers, Nicole, and Dana Walsh.
Day 1 is the only day where Jack does not kill someone by breaking their neck. I can't remember Nicole, who was that? Any stats for the TV movie as well? Also Jack has killed at least two good guys, Chapelle and Curtis and both names start with C, Lets hope Cole or Chloe isn't the last. I hope they don't kill Jack, that would be major stupidity and disrespect, I get the whole (No peace in life POV) but Jack deserves some sort of happiness other than his daughter and grandaughter, maybe Audrey will return. He killed 13 in the Redemption Movie (Prequel to season 7) and those kills are included in the kill count.

Nicole was a fake FBI/CIA agent from Season 4 and was working with Marwan. She was involved with the fake pilot/Mitch Anderson/shooting down Air Force One subplot.

That was a terrific episode. Jack's "Nina" moment at the end was awesome. It was also quite tense throughout...and damn, I love Gregory Itzin as Logan!

Well, that was certainly one of the more squirm-inducing torture scenes, if not the most ever, on this show in a long time. That was not pretty at all. I found it interesting you weren't really supposed to be cheering Jack on, since the torture didn't even work and even Michael Madsen looked uncomfortable.
Logan should be very afraid now.

 Re: 24: Season 8 Thread
The President brought all this on herself. She makes a deal with the devil and it's gonna take her down with the ship. She does deserve everything she gets coming though for all her extremely terrible personal choices.
I was happy to see Arlo step up and be a man and help Chloe in this time of need. Chloe has figured out she was just a middleman doing her job incorrectly and now she's working to help Jack. Good job.
Cole stuck to his guns. He feels like he's been played every which way.
I clapped when Madsens character surprised the russian. That was fantastic.
The torture was crazy but what else is Jack supposed to do. He had no choice.
I hope that reporter gets that news out and that it just doesn't get swept under the rug somehow in the end.

Updated Jack Kill Count- 5 killed last night 31 in Day 8 260 overall in 8 Days I guess they are just going to keep jumping the shark higher with all the remaining shows I thought they would at least become a little reasonable with the plausiblity and sympathy for Jack but all they are doing in making me hope someone anyone takes him down. Come on Cole!! As for next weeks preview, so Jack gets body armor head to toe and takes on an entire Secret Service detail and is able to take Logan alive?

Another great episode. The torture scene was a classic Jack Bauer moment.
And finally, Jack vs. Logan again! I wonder if we'll ever find out how exactly Logan knew of the conspiracy.
I can't believe that I am again really looking forward to any new episode of the show. Hasn't happened to me since the beginning of Season 6.

 Re: 24: Season 8 Thread
How many viewers will the series finale get, what do you think?
I'd be happy with anything around 12 million or higher (considering its current performance).

 Re: 24: Season 8 Thread
I think it could and should jump higher than that. Finale's to consistent viewer holders are known for big bumps. X-Files managed over 13 despite a sub 9 average for the final season. 24's average is about 9.4 for the final season so far. I'd love for it to be one of those shows where it has a finale with its highest viewers to date.

Yeah, he's totally pulling a Tony.
Thought Logan might really be dead in that last scene. Itzin deserves an Emmy nod just for that panicked performance.

How many people did Jack brutally murder this episode? Jesus Christ.
So Subarov's the ultimate baddie, eh? Maybe Jack will go after Aaron Pierce as vengeance for protecting that convoy in Season 5!
Loved tonight. Completely and utterly stoked for next week.

 Re: 24: Season 8 Thread
I loved seeing the freaked out look of disbelief on Logan's face when Jack was assaulting his convoy. That was great stuff. I can't believe Jack let him live but as I just saw Jack was a step ahead of the game with that listening device.
Why didn't that reporter copy the damn evidence. She had it for less than one hour. Understandable, but head to a freakin Best Buy and buy a sd card and use one of the computers there to copy the material.
I don't like how Ortiz is putting the blinders on about what Jack is doing. Yes, it's revenge but it's also about exposing this massive coverup that a state leader got killed for. He says he's gonna take him down if he has to? Ortiz needs to read Jack's file before making a dumb statement like that.
