What the fuck? I went to watch an NBA All-Star Game last night and a competitive basketball game broke out.

 Re: NBA 2009-2010 season
Cavs get Jamison!! http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2010/02/report_cavaliers_in_3-way_trad.htmlQuote: Sources: Cavaliers agree to 3-way trade with Wizards and Clippers; receive forward Antawn Jamison and guard Sebastian Telfair By Brian Windhorst, The Plain Dealer February 17, 2010, 6:42PM UPDATED: 7:04 p.m.
Frank Franklin III / Associated PressAntawn Jamison (above, against New York's Wilson Chandler) is reportedly very close to becoming a Cavalier.CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Cavaliers have agreed in principle to a 3-team trade with the Washington Wizards and Los Angeles Clippers that brings forward Antawn Jamison to Cleveland, sources said Wednesday night.
The Cavaliers are sending Zydrunas Ilgauskas to the Wizards and this year's first-round draft pick to the Clippers as part of the trade. The Cavaliers are expected to receive Clippers point guard Sebastian Telfair as part of the package.
The Washington Post first reported the trade.
The Cavs made the move after they were unable to complete a trade with the Phoenix Suns for Amare Stoudemire. After nearly a week of talks the Cavs pushed for an answer Wednesday afternoon. Either they were told no or told to wait by Phoenix, who was hoping for better deals to mature.
So they moved on to Jamison, who has been one of their top trade targets since the fall.
Jamison, who is averaging 20.8 points and 8.8 rebounds for the Wizards, is the good-shooting power forward the Cavs have been looking for since last summer. He has two years and $28 million left on his contract, which prompted the Wizards to look to move him as part of a rebuilding process.
Telfair has played in 39 games this season, averaging 4.3 points and 2.9 assists. So, assuming Z will be bought out, we just got Jamison for nothing but a 1st round draft pick! What a steal!

 Re: NBA 2009-2010 season
Most shocking trade so far: Houston trading McGrady and Landry to Sac for KMart. It seems like Houston is pretty much sacrificing this season by giving away Landry, but now it's a sure bet they will be targeting a superstar PF for the 2010 free agency.

Great deal for the Cavs. Got Jameson for nothing except his long ass contract. Z will be back in 30.

 Re: NBA 2009-2010 season
I like the trade for the Rockets. Martin is an all-star and locked up for several years, just in time for Yao's last couple of hopefully productive years. With the two as the foundation and all that cap space, Rockets could make a big run at the free agent and contend the next couple of years.

 Re: NBA 2009-2010 season
The trade parameters changed from yesterday now that New York is involved. Yesterday the deal was a steal for Sac and Houston gave up too much, but today Sac is getting hosed for not getting any of the assets that New York is providing. Assuming yesterday's deal was already agreed upon, I don't get why Sac is agreeing to change to today's deal with New York. Essentially, Sac is sending away TMac, Kenny Thomas, Hilton Armstrong (all expirings)just to get Larry Hughes from NY. While Houston managed to parlay Sergio Rodriguez into Kenny Thomas, Hilton Amrstrong, Jordan Hill, Jared Jeffries, NY's 2012 pick, and right to swap 2011 picks with NY. Some of these NY assets should be going to Sac rather than Houston, as TMac's value even solely as an expiring contract is much greater than Larry Hughes. EDIT: Okay, Houston is sending cash to Sac, I guess this is a money deal for Sac, details here: http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/spo ... 72624.html

 Re: NBA 2009-2010 season
I'd do Martin/Landry swap straight up without problem, and now it's extra beautiful that they're getting Hill and draft picks. Landry's value is inflated this year with Yao being out, and someone will overpay him after the season. Rockets has more need on the wing who could score from outside, and Yao/Scola/Martin will be a very nice combo to send out each night.

 Re: NBA 2009-2010 season
I knew getting rid of Landry means they're upgrading to an all-star PF, Houston almost got Amare as well but backed out at the last minute due to health concerns. I am positive that either Amare, Bosh, Boozer, or David Lee will become a Rocket during the offseason. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4924306Quote: One source told ESPN.com's J.A. Adande that the Rockets -- fresh off constructing a three-team blockbuster that sent Tracy McGrady to New York and landed Kevin Martin in Houston -- offered veterans Shane Battier and Luis Scola, multiple draft picks and the expiring contract of Brian Cook for Stoudemire. But the source said Phoenix wanted to waive the requisite physical examinations for the players involved to make sure the trade went through in time, only for Houston to refuse because of Stoudemire's injury history.
Yet another source with knowledge of the talks disputed that account, telling ESPN.com that the Suns initiated the conversation by asking for Battier, Scola and draft

Can the playoffs start already so the Celtics can be put out of their misery? I can't take another month of consistent inconsistent play.

I watched that Bogut injury once and that was enough. Holy cow. He should have tried better to hang on to the rim. That was sick!

My latest facebook update: Quote: Toronto raptors 09-10 season reminds me of the movie Vanilla Sky. First third ok but confused, second third Penepole Cruz sex, last third off the rails nightmare and Tom Cruise realizes he's dead and his face is destroyed. Cruise jumping off the roof = Chris Bosh signs elsewhere this summer We were at 31-24 and have lost 18 of 25 since then... epic meltdown. Just epic

 Re: NBA 2009-2010 season
Apparently there's been some talk that Doc Rivers might retire after this season. To be honest, it might be for the best. Tom Thibodeau has been waiting in the wings for a couple of years now, and considering he has been the mastermind of the Celtics defense, I don't think there would be much of a drop off. That and the sooner we get rid of Rasheed Wallace, the better.
