It's just like a few years ago when people said the Mich/OSU game could be the Title game if it was close.

 Re: 2009 College Football Season
This idiot on espn just claimed that TCU hasn't played anybody.
He claimed that TCU's big win was Virginia. Who is this dumb twat? Clemson, BYU, Utah...hello?

Maybe I'm alittle harsh calling him an idiot, but still it was ridiculous.
Apparently, I'm watching sportsnation on espn2 with Colin and Michelle.

 Re: 2009 College Football Season
Is June Jones a miracle worker or what? I may actually watch this bowl game if I can now. http://sports.espn.go.com/dallas/ncf/ne ... id=4704063Quote: UNIVERSITY PARK, Texas -- SMU celebrated its first bowl bid in 25 years in style Monday, accepting an invitation to play in the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl on Dec. 24.
President Gerald Turner, athletic director Steve Orsini and coach June Jones, wearing leis, officially accepted an invitation at a festive, Hawaiian-themed event inside the student center. The announcement caused the crowd of a few hundred -- fans, boosters, administrators, players, cheerleaders and band members -- to break into wild applause.
"We've proven there's life after death," Orsini said.
It is SMU's first bowl invitation since beating Notre Dame in the 1984 Aloha Bowl. In 1985, the program was placed on three years' probation. In 1987, the SMU football program was given the Death Penalty by the NCAA and was shut down for two seasons -- the harshest penalty ever given to any major collegiate program.

So, Cincy is coughing it up. That puts Boise at #5 should they win

Should Cincy lose I don't think the Big East would get that extra BCS team, so barring a Texas loss has Boise St secured a BCS spot?

 Re: 2009 College Football Season
What am embarassment for Pitt.
Idk about ya'll but I though the RB should have taken a knee at the one because they would have had first and goal there but that's too OOTB thinking for 99% of football teams.
That missed XP. The freaking holder couldn't handle it but that isn't what ruined this game for them. It was their bullhonkey defense that couldn't stop anything in the 2nd half.
Just embarassing.
**and this team has no business being considered ahead of TCU even with this ONE point win. They've had extremely close wins down the stretch and have shown they aren't really that good of a team but they are accomplished.**
Just sick.

 Re: 2009 College Football Season
TCU deserves a shot at the National Championship even if Texas wins. Of course they won't get it since people are too afraid they will actually win which would open the floodgates. Give me any reason why they are not the best team in the country? And don't use that Uuuh the SEC is so strong nonsense. That's just an Urban Legend coined by PR.

They still have the 2 highest strengths of schedule in the top 10. I'd I remember right Boise had the lowest

 Re: 2009 College Football Season
If teams don't want to play them, what can they do? Why is the SOS for Florida and Alabama so high that they don't need to face a team like Boise? Because pre-season ranks give a ridiculous advantage to established conferences. The only reason the Top 3 is the way they are is preseason-rankings. Has nothing to do with how good they played the season. They need to blow this system up. Fast.
