Aviator lost almost 500 theatres from last week and it still only dropped less than 11%. Wow...

Fantastic for Hitch. In fact, I believe that's one of the lowest second weekend drops for any movie opening over $40M.
Amazing for The Aviator, down about 11% despite shedding a lot of screens.

BOM says it was #1 for the weekend. Constantine also made $2M less on Saturday, so Hitch has it in the bag.

Yes. Hitch kept the number one spot according to Mojo.
Algren I am not sure if Aviator can reach 100 million. Unless it really wins Best Picture (which I hope it will) it will start dropping even more theatres and I think it might end around 95 million or something. Hopefully I am wrong.

Forgetting about my "X" discussion from last week but look at the total for
Are We There Yet - 6.500.000 6.500.000 -21.1% (Total - 69.507.000)
Just Very Impressive. That must be a very good movie!

The Aviator is definently going to hit $100 million. With the drops it's been getting, and Oscars around the corner, it doesn't even have to win Best Picture to stir up another $12 million.

Wasn't Hitch the highest grossing opening ever for a romcom? Not sure about that , but just thinking about it, I can't think of many that were that high.

Friday: $11,100,000
Saturday: $10,850,000 (SB D again overestimated day)
Sunday: $5,750,000 (-47%)
------------------------------------
Weekend $27,700,000
4-day $31,200,000
And if I'm proven wrong, I'll never again post in this thread after tommorow. NEVER!

The closest I can think of at the moment is What Women Want - $34Mio and Runaway Bride -$35Mio.
Impressive.
EDIT: Forgot about 50 First Dates - $39Mio (I think)

Nebs, all movies have nice drops today. Tomorrow is President's Day. If Constantine drops that much, I'll be utterly shocked.

thats hilarious, how did you come up with that :?:
I say due to this being a holiday sunday the drop will be anywhere between 10%-25%, also judging by the performances of the films in 2000 this film should have a sunday drop under even 20%

That won't happen. Even Hitch dropped 30% on Sunday. Constantine has to drop that much, atleast.

bleh, Zing thats called horible projecting anyway hitch is a comedy and the comedy films in 2000 all fell 30% on sunday. Now as for the horror/action/killing movies, they all droped under 20% including the openers and most droped under 15% with one acualy increasing and some just staying flat. I said that Constantine a drop anywhere between 10%-25% any thing beyond 25% will not happen
