 Re: 2009 NFL Season Discussion
I'm thinking their season will almost be a complete replica of the Jets last year. They'll start off extremely well and then when Favre gets hurt (which he will) it will all go to shit. And Peterson will only be able to carry them so far.
9-7. Packers will finish 11-5. It wouldn't surprise me if the Vikings actually finish third.

 Re: 2009 NFL Season Discussion
Packers are legit this year if their defense shows up at all.

Patriots just traded Richard Seymour to the Raiders for a 2011 1st round draft pick.

The team isn't going anywhere, and although Seymour will help they'll be nowhere near the playoff hunt this year. Now add in the fact that Seymour will not resign with them next year, and you're pretty much left with the Patriots getting a top five pick in 2011 for a rent-a-player. And this also allows them to sign Wilfork. As much as it could hurt them this year on defense (they're still a contender, just slighty weaker) this is a great move for the future.

 Re: 2009 NFL Season Discussion
This helps Oaklands d a lot actually. Tommy Kelly is a pretty decent player but hes had zero help; seymour brings relief. And if he does well enough theyll franchise him, and even before that, its not like Oakland wont give him a huge payday if he is good.

 Re: 2009 NFL Season Discussion
They did.
I also can't decide if Rothlesberger is a good bad QB or just lucky here. He looked so terrible at times yet he had a pretty good stat line. He had a ton of completions vs incompletes.
I liked that the Tennessee D still appears to be as good as it was last season.
The Pittsburgh offense was anemic but it does have the Tennessee D as the scapegoat for that.

 Re: 2009 NFL Season Discussion
That was not a very good opener. Sloppy all around. Hope this is not a bad sign for the season. Plus The Madden Curse didn't waste much time to strike is first blow Quote: Pittsburgh Steelers All-Pro safety Troy Polamalu sprained the medial collateral ligament in his left knee late in the first half of their 13-10 overtime victory against Tennessee on Thursday night. Coach Mike Tomlin said the injury usually sidelines a player from 3 to 6 weeks.

Ouch! Hate to see a great player like Troy go down. That int he caught one handed was one of the best I've ever seen.

 Re: 2009 NFL Season Discussion
I'm bummed he's gonna be out 3 weeks probably (Troy). He was all over the field in the first half racking up points in the fantasy league.
