Re: Intl. Box-Office: Angels & Demons at $356 million WW!
Things actually look even worse for Up here: the final number is $3.875 m and 121.1 million rubles, behind Wall-E. Overall b/o so far looks completely awful - in tough times people just download and buy pirated DVDs more, thank god for this opportunity. We can hardly expect any growth from last year's number, and potentially a decline of around 10%, for the first time in 10 years, unless things really start getting better.

Re: Intl. Box-Office: Angels & Demons at $356 million WW!
http://www.screendaily.com/sony-rules-o ... 25.articleWalt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International reported that Up took $7.8m from 1,200 sites in four territories for an early $13.5m running total Weekend business was led by a number one $3.8m launch in Mexico on 547 screens that beat the combined results of the films ranked second to fourth. Studio executives said 41% of the box office came from 3D screens, which currently account for only 20% of the nation’s screen count, adding that this was the second biggest Pixar launch behind Wall-E. In the second weekend Up fell 35% in Russia on $2.6m for $8.4m and is expected to overhaul Ratatouille by Monday and Wall-E by Wednesday to become the biggest Pixar release. Up opened top in Venezuela on $835,000 for Disney’s biggest animated launch, and debuted at number in Colombia on $455,That opening in Venezuala is particularly strong......though must've been a 3-Day without previews because last year Wall-E did $1,012,956 (or $792,591 3-Day - 89). Though Disney/Pixar has trouble outopening Dreamworks here... Harry Potter 5: OOTP - $1,187,127 (5-day or $776,226 3-Day - 144) Kung Fu Panda - $1,099,896 (or $874,752 3-Day - 97) Shrek 3 - $1,073,358 (or $890,506 3-Day - 129) Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa - $1,040,859 (or $810,473 3-Day - 87) Wall-E - $1,012,956 (or $792,591 3-Day - 89)The Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian - $922,774 (or $767,641 3-Day - 97) Up - $835,000The Mummy 3: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor - $794,078 (87) Hancock - $781,813 (79) The Simpsons Movie - $755,389 (97)

I'd say Up is recovering well after a quite dissapointing opening w/e, having more staying power than other Pixar's films. However, it's 32% 2nd w/e drop falls short of Bolt's achievement last year (-26%), although it had less competition. We'll see how it does next week. Land of the lost shouldn't be that big, not many people remember the 1990s show and they don't emphasize this connection, which is kinda bad, the show was quite popular back then. Bolt was killed in its 3rd weekend by massive TDTESS. Up has Land of the lost in its 3rd, which is not a problem, and its 4th w/e is empty. We might see up to $15 m total if it holds.

How will Ice Age 3 perform in Russia? I know the economy is down recently and all...but is $35+ million possible?

Dr. Lecter wrote: How will Ice Age 3 perform in Russia? I know the economy is down recently and all...but is $35+ million possible? Well, the economy is kinda recovering. Ruble is now 35% lower than its high last August (and it was 56% lower not long ago), so it's good news. Everything goes back on track - people are just more selective with movies these days, if it's not an event picture, they won't go and just download it or buy pirated dvd, so non-blockbusters lost a lot of potential, that's why total b/o is down. But I don't see any problems with event pictures, and Ice Age 3 is one of the biggest of them. Nothing stops it from being as big as Madagascar 2 IMO...

"With the overseas opening of Universal's comic fantasy "Land of the Lost" a week away, the international circuit lacked a summer blockbuster debut during the weekend. That left it up to holdover "Terminator Salvation" to decisively claim the No. 1 spot with a $65.2 million frame from 8,279 screens in 70 markets.
The fourth title in the sci-fi action series has been in foreign release since May 27, mostly playing limited dates in the Middle East and Asia. The Christian Bale-Sam Worthington vehicle broke wide during the weekend, however, finishing No. 1 in all but four of the territories it played.
According to Sony, which is distributing the title in most territories, "Terminator" already is running 21% ahead of the comparable overseas boxoffice compiled by its predecessor, 2003's "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines." The latest title's weekend is the third-highest of 2009.
"Terminator's" leading market was the U.K., where it grossed $11 million from 489 locations. Russia produced $8 million from 786 sites, the 10th-biggest weekend opener to date for a Hollywood title there. France came up with $5.4 million from 752 spots, Germany provided $6 million from 981 locations, Australia generated $5.2 million from 386 screens and Spain contributed $4.9 million from 563 locations.
"Terminator's" early foreign gross total is $99.1 million from all distributors with Sony-handled territories providing about $77.5 million.
In second place overall was last weekend's No. 1 foreign attraction, Fox's "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian," which generated $27.9 million from 8,350 screens in 66 markets. Its overseas cume is $149.6 million.
The family comedy starring Ben Stiller premiered at No. 1 in Korea ($4.5 million from 542 spots) and finished first in its second China weekend with $2.1 million from 818 locations.
At No. 3, Sony's "Angels & Demons," drew $22.2 million from 9,059 screens in 100 markets, hiking the international gross of "The Da Vinci Code's" follow-up to $291 million. The Tom Hanks vehicle finished at No. 2 in its fourth weekend in Germany with $3.9 million generated from 1,042 sites.
In fourth was Pixar/Disney's "Up," which opened at No. 1 in Mexico, Colombia and Venezuela for an overall weekend tally of $7.8 million from 1,270 screens in four markets (Russia, with $2.6 million at 594 sites for a 10-day market cume of $8.4 million, is the fourth territory). "Up's" international gross is $13.5 million in 10 days of release. Worldwide, it's $150.8 million.
A delayed Mexico premiere produced $3.8 million from 540 locations, out-grossing the totals of the market's No. 2-No. 5 films. The animation title was similarly dominant in Venezuela ($835,000 from 63 sites) and Colombia. Openings in six market including Thailand and Argentina loom this week.
Paramount's 11th "Star Trek" edition finished at No. 5, dialing up $5.8 million in its fifth weekend playing 3,621 screens in 46 markets, good for a solid international cume of $112 million. Worldwide, its gross stands at $334.8 million. Its foreign total is easily the biggest overseas tally of any of the "Star Trek" titles; the series' previous top grosser was 1996's "Star Trek: First Contact" with offshore boxoffice of $57.4 million.
A delayed Mexico premiere produced $1.1 million from 448 sites. The latest "Star Trek" has a U.K. cume of more than $30 million so far, exceeding the market totals to date of Fox's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" and "Angels & Demons."
Disney's "Hannah Montana: The Movie" generated $5.6 million from 2,100 screens in 21 markets, good for an international cume of $43.5 million. The teen pop saga starring Miley Cyrus opened at No. 3 in Germany with $3.9 million from 457 locations. Disney calculates that in terms of attendance, albeit at lower ticket-price levels, "Hannah Montana" actually was No. 1 in the market. A Brazil opening is on tap this weekend.
"Wolverine" drew $3.4 million on the weekend from 3,717 sites in 47 territories, hiking its foreign cume to $176.3 million. Universal's "State of Play," a journalism drama starring Russell Crowe, grossed $2.5 million from 1,149 sites in 26 markets for a cume of $28.5 million. A Mexico opening produced $693,000 from 294 screens, enough for a No. 6 weekend ranking.
Mandate International's "Drag Me to Hell" opened in the Philippines and Thailand, generating an estimated $2.4 million overall from 860 screens. The Sam Raimi horror title grabbed the No. 4 weekend slot in France ($1 million from 280 screens in its second weekend for a market cume of $2.5 million) and the No. 3 spot in the U.K. Its overall cume in 10 days is $7.3 million.
A No. 5 Spain opening accounted for $1.1 million (from 336 locations) of the total weekend gross of Focus Features/Universal's "Coraline," which pulled in $2.1 million from 1,094 screens in 23 markets. Its international cume is $26.4 million.
In France, Spanish director Pedro Almodovar's "Broken Embraces" from Pathe finished at No. 4 in its third weekend with $872,011 from 408 locations, for a market cume of $5 million. In Japan, Toho's release of baseball drama "Rookies: Sotsugyo" dominated the market for the second straight weekend, rolling up a $10.6 million gross from 428 screens, and achieving an astonishing $33 million market cume.
Other international cumes: Universal's "Fast & Furious," $193.9 million; Fox Searchlight/Pathe's "Slumdog Millionaire," $215.2 million; Universal's "The Boat That Rocked," $23.3 million;DreamWorks Animation/Paramount's "Monsters vs. Aliens," $169.4 million; Universal's "Duplicity," $35.9 million; New Line's "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past," $12.3 million; Universal's "The Last House on the Left," $3.5 million; Fox's "Australia," $158 million (its final overseas gross); Universal's "Fighting," $4.6 million; New Line's "Coco Before Chanel," $775,449; Universal's "The Unborn," $31.8 million; DreamWorks/Paramount's "I Love You, Man," $12.6 million; Universal's "Thirst," $11.7 million; Fox's "Dragonball: Evolution," $48.2 million; New Line's "He's Just Not That Into You," $72 million; United Artists/Fox's "Valkyrie," $115.6 million; New Line's "17 Again," $58.1 million; Fox's "Marley & Me," $100.2 million; Fox's "12 Rounds," $4.4 million; and Fox's Brazilian hit "Se Eu Fosse Voce 2," $21.7 million. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/con ... b8a09703e3_____________________________________________________________________________

Re: Intl. Box-Office: Angels & Demons passes $400m worldwide!
As for my thoughts on the performers:
It's pretty impressive for Terminator: Salvation which will get over 2/3 of its total gross from overseas markets, I'm sure. I definitely see a $400+ million worldwide gross for it. The previews in Japan indicate great things and in most other markets it did very well too. The UK opening in particular is huge and beats those of Star Trek, Angels & Demons and Wolverine.
Night at the Museum II's overseas run is prety steady and with Mexico and Japan ahead it still has two big markets to open in. It should end up with around $380-390 million worldwide with a small chance at $400 million as well.
Angels & Demons is certainly the most terrific performer overseas this year so far. While its popularity isn't as huge as its predecessor's, it is still making TONS of money in the international marketplace. At this point, it's a lock for $450 million WW and I'm guessing that it'll break $350 million OS for a worldwide total of $480 million with over 70% coming from OS markets.
Star Trek is doing alright for what it is. Sure, its OS numbers pale compared to the US, but on its own terms, these are good number that will give it a WW total of $375 million.
Drag Me to Hell looks like it could become one of the biggest recent horror films overseas. I could see it reaching up to $95-100 million worldwide, a feat usually accomplished only by the Saw flicks.
Slumdog Millionaire's worldwide total is just stunning. It stands at $355+ million WW and is still in Germany's Top 10 among other things. Should pass $360 million eventually.
Duplicity disappointed overseas just as much as in the States.
Congrats to Marley & Me at passing $100 million overseas.

Wow for Angels and Demons. it'll be at $480-$500m worldwide, which is massive.
Terminator looks to save *some* face overseas.
Fantastic for Drag Me To Hell, which has been huge in the UK, opening to £1.9M last week and falling to £1.3M this week, which is great for a horror. Could get to $10M alone in the UK. I could see $50M internationally, and $90-$100m worldwide as Lecter said.
Last House on The Left should do well next week as it opens in the UK this weekend, the reviews have been good here and theres alot of marketing.

The UK opening is huge for a horror film (Drag Me to Hell). Was marketing that good there?
Here it opened today and at my theatres it sold third-most tickets tonight (after Terminator 4 and Angels & Demons), but that is not saying much since it still wasn't selling on blockbuster levels. I see an openng around 100,000 admissions which, for a horror film, is solid, but overall rather small.

It looks like Angels & Demons could retake the #1 spot in Germany from T4 in its 5th (!) week. It could drop as little as 10% this weekend (thanks to little competition, a holiday on Thursday as well as initially bad weather). That'd put it at almost 4 million admissions, I suppose. It starts gaining gound on The Da Vinci Code which, at this point of its run, was affected by the World Cup. Overall it could finish with 4.5 million, less than 1 million admissions behind The Da Vinci Code. Very impressive performance.

Yeah the tv spots were in all the right places...Big Brother, Katie & Peter...even Britains Got Talent, which was the most watched show in the Uk for the past 10 years. And the reviews have been amazing. I can't beleive it only dropped 33% aswell, thats awesome after opening so huge. But WOM is great here. My Bloody Valentine was massive in January, one of the biggest grossing horrors of the past few years. But FINAL DESTINATION 4 will best them both, as the other ones are HUGE in the UK. And we're obviously suckers for 3D horror ala My Bloody Valentine.

"Despite the foreign introduction of three big summer titles, including Warner Bros.' domestic boxoffice winner "The Hangover," Sony's "Terminator Salvation" remained atop the international circuit during the weekend by grossing an estimated $46.1 million from 10,500 screens in 80 territories.
A No. 1 Japan opening for the fourth title in the sci-fi action series, which has played overseas since May 27, generated $10.7 million from 729 sites. The film's China bow registered $9 million from 1,671 locations. In all, "Salvation" took the No. 1 spot in more than 30 territories.
"Salvation's" international cume stands at $165.5 million, of which $141.1 million originates from territories handled by Sony. During its second weekend in the U.K., the film finished No. 2 with $3.4 million from 875 locations. In France, its second weekend produced $2.8 million from 737 locations.
The overseas weekend was moderate overall, with torrid temperatures in many European markets complicating boxoffice action.
"Hangover" finished No. 4 on the weekend with $11.6 million from more than 1,350 screens in 15 markets. The comedy's No. 1 U.K. opening produced $5.2 million, including previews, from 424 screens. A No. 1 bow in Australia generated $2.7 million from 226 sites. The film opens Wednesday in Belgium and Friday in Italy.
Sony's "The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3," which opened No. 3 domestically, finished out of the top five overseas with $2.4 million from 400 screens, mostly in Asia and the Middle East. Its top market was Korea, where the Tony Scott-helmed Columbia/MGM title, starring Denzel Washington and John Travolta, grossed $1 million from 200 locations.
Also out of the top five overseas was Universal's family comedy/fantasy "Land of the Lost," which ranked No. 5 during its second weekend domestically. The Will Ferrell vehicle opened at 670 sites in five markets for an offshore tally of $3.1 million. A No. 3 bow in Australia produced $1.3 million from 194 screens, and a No. 2 debut in Russia generated $1.4 million from 100 locations.
Finishing second was Fox's "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian," which took the No. 1 spot in its Mexico bow (grabbing a 38% market share with $3.3 million from 1,150 sites) and ranked first during its second Korea round ($6.9 million from 446 screens). Overall, the family comedy, starring Ben Stiller, drew $17.9 million from 8,156 sites in 104 markets, raising its international cume to $176.2 million (vs. $143.4 domestic).
In third position was Sony's "Angels & Demons," which grossed $14.1 million from 7,110 screens for an overseas cume of $315 million. In Germany, "The Da Vinci Code" follow-up, starring Tom Hanks, finished No. 1 during its fifth stanza with $2.9 million from 1,041 screens for a market cume of $39.9 million.
At No. 5 on the weekend was Pixar/Disney's "Up," which continued its graduated foreign rollout by grossing $8.2 million from 2,243 locales in 14 territories.
"Up's" international total stands at $26.6 million and its worldwide cume at $213.8 million. The animation title finished first in 12 markets, with its second Mexico weekend generating $2.6 million (down only 29% from its opening there) from 799 screens for a market cume of $7.9 million. A Ukraine opening looms this weekend.
Mandate/Universal's "Drag Me to Hell" looks to register $4.5 million on the weekend from an unspecified number of screens in holdover territories and about 25 new markets. Mandate is handling at least 10 territories, and Universal has 14 markets. Universal will premiere Sam Raimi's horror title July 31 in Spain.
Disney's "Hannah Montana: The Movie" finished its second Germany round in the market's No. 4 spot, eliciting $1.8 million from 526 sites for a market cume of $5.2 million. The overseas weekend figure for the Miley Cyrus teen-pop saga was $3.8 million from 2,353 locations in 26 territories, pushing its foreign cume of $48.2 million. The film opens this week in France and Greece.
Paramount's "Star Trek" grossed $3.5 million from 3,284 locations in 63 markets. Its overseas cume stands at $119 million.
Focus/Universal's "Coraline" upped its international cume to $29.7 million thanks to a $2.7 million weekend from 1,690 screens in 31 markets. Debuts in four markets were capped by a No. 3 opening in France, which produced $1.3 million from 438 locations.
In France, "The French Kissers," Pathe's teen-sex comedy from first-time director Riad Sattouf -- which played in the Directors' Fortnight at the Festival de Cannes -- opened No. 2 in the market with $2.3 million from 600 locations.
Other newcomers were SND's release of Darren Grant's dance title "Make It Happen," starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead, which bowed at No. 4 in Paris and its environs, and UGC's Amanda Sthers-helmed "Je Vais te manquer," starring Carole Bouquet and Pierre Arditi, which opened No. 5 in Paris.
Pedro Almodovar's "Broken Embraces," from Pathe, finished out of the top five in France with $875,000 from 408 locales. Its market cume stands at $5.8 million.
Other international cumes: Fox's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," $179.7 million (thanks to a $1.7 million weekend from 2,000 screens in 33 markets); New Line's "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past," $13.1 million; Universal's "State of Play," $31.4 million; DreamWorks/Paramount's "I Love You, Man," $15 million; Fox's "Marley & Me," $100.2 million; DreamWorks Animation/Paramount's "Monsters vs. Aliens," $171.5 million through 11 weeks; New Line's "17 Again," $60.5 million; Pathe/Fox's "Slumdog Millionaire," $216.2 million; New Line's "He's Just Not That Into You," $72.1 million; Universal's "The Last House on the Left," $4.5 million (Universal territories only); Fox's "Dragonball Evolution," $48.2 million; Fox's "Taken," $74.6 million; Fox's "12 Rounds," $4.9 million; Fox's "Notorious," $6.3 million; and Fox's "Secret Life of Bees," $2 million. Very good for Terminator: Salvation. I have little doubt it'll pass $250 million overseas after that humongous opening in Japan and it also still has Mexico left to open in. By the end of the next weekend, it'll be well beyond $200 million.
Night at the Museum II is enjoying a great run overseas. With Japan still ahead and still going strong in several other markets, it is looking at a $390-400 million worldwide total, well ahead of the likes of Terminator 4, Star Trek or Wolverine.
But of course the real overseas stunner is still Angels & Demons which managed to recapture the top spot in Germany in the 5th week of its run!! I believe it stands a great chance at making it all the way to $350 million overseas and thus to a worldwide total of $480-490 million. While domestically it is well behind the likes of Monsters Vs. Aliens, Fast & Furious, Star Trek and Wolverine, worldwide it'll outgross 'em all.

I was browsing BOM today and saw that Valkyrie (finally) made it over 200M WW. A pretty solid performance considering the buzz around it at the time.

Re: Intl. Box-Office: Terminator: Salvation at $165 million OS!
Doesn't really surprise me that it did. Cruise still seems to be a draw overseas and it certainly appealed more to European audiences.

In Germany, it looks like it's a close race for #1 between Angels & Demons (in its 6th weekend!) and T4 (in its third). Both are looking at ~150,000 admissionms this weekend. Next weekend, Transformers 2 crashes into the marketplace.

"Playing in just two key foreign markets, Paramount's "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" from director Michael Bay premiered No. 1 over the weekend on the international circuit, rolling up $20 million from 846 locations.
The sci-fi/action sequel to "Transformers," Bay's 2007 smash -- which grossed $389 million overseas -- opened No. 1 in the U.K. ($14.1 million from 517 screens) and in Japan ($5.8 million from 329 sites).
The explosive saga of shape-shifting robots co-starring Shia Labeouf and Megan Fox outperformed the original in the U.K. by 71%, and by 13% in Japan, Paramount said. "Revenge of the Fallen" opens worldwide on Wednesday.
Finishing No. 2 was Sony's "Terminator Salvation," which dominated the charts last weekend. The fourth title in the action series with Christian Bale grossed $18.4 million from 9,400 screens in 74 territories for an international cume of $200 million. The portion of the total from Sony-handled markets was $174.7 million.
The No. 1 domestic title, Disney's "The Proposal," opened day-and-date overseas at 1,490 screens in 10 markets for a solid weekend tally of $10 million. No. 1 bows were recorded in Australia ($3.3 million from 275 locations), Russia ($2.8 million from 400 screens), Belgium and Holland. This coming weekend will see openings in Sweden and Greece.
Sony's "Year One," the latest comedy from the Judd Apatow production factory, dipped its toes internationally in two markets for a mild-mannered $1.6 million from 191 screens. The Jack Black-Michael Cera vehicle about a pair of inept cavemen grossed almost all its weekend take from a No. 3 opening in Australia on 185 screens.
Sony's "Angels & Demons" drew $8.4 million from 5,765 sites in 82 territories. Director Ron Howard's follow-up to 2006's "The Da Vinci Code" has rolled up an overseas cume so far of $329.2 million, still far short of "Code's" international gross total of $539.7 million.
Finishing No. 1 in 11 markets including the Ukraine, Argentina, Venezuela and Colombia was Pixar/Disney's "Up," which collected $6 million from 2,051 locations. The animated feature's overseas gross over the course of a graduated rollout is $38.8 million to date.
A No. 2 Germany introduction bolstered Universal's "State of Play," which grossed $3.4 million on the weekend overall from 1,450 sites in 44 markets. Cume for the journalism drama starring Russell Crowe stands at $35.8 million.
Focus Features/Universal's "Coraline" raised its international total to $33.2 million thanks to a $2.8 million weekend from 1,570 screens in 31 markets. The stop-motion animated feature opened No. 1 in Italy with $1.2 million from 167 locations.
Treading lightly so far internationally is Sony's "The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3," the action title remake with Denzel Washington and John Travolta. Its second weekend on the foreign circuit generated $1.4 million from 395 screens in 18 territories for an early foreign total of $5 million.
The rejuvenated "Star Trek" has accumulated $122.2 million so far overseas making it the biggest offshore grosser of the 11-title series. Weekend action was $1.9 million from 1,981 locations.
Director Sam Raimi's tongue-in-cheek horror item, "Drag Me to Hell," yielded an estimated $2 million from territories handled by Mandate International and Universal. Mandate territories provided $1.3 million while Universal reported $700,000 from 355 situations in 14 markets. Cume stands at about $18 million.
Off to a leisurely start is Universal's "Land of the Lost," the family comedy/fantasy with Will Farrell which drew $1.7 million in its second weekend in five markets for an early international total of $5.9 million. A U.K. opening is set for July 31.
The top three titles in France were local language films with Mar Distribution's "Tellement Proches" (So Near) opening No. 1 with $1.8 million from 400 locations. The comedy from co-directors Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache concerns a hapless husband coping with overbearing in-laws.
No. 2 is another debut title, BAC Films' release of "Lascars," which tallied $1.6 million from 324 sites. The animated feature based the French tv cartoon series about the misadventures of two petty crooks, co-directed by Albert Pereira and Emmanuel Klotz, played the Critics Week sidebar at this year's International Festival du Cannes.

I am really not stunned by Transformers 2's gross. It doesn't look to top the first one by much overseas. Maybe $400-430 million OS...
Terminator: Salvation is showing absolutely horrible legs oveerseas, but its overall worldwide gross so far is solid. I still see it crawling to $250 million OS and $370+ million worldwide with Mexico's help.
Angels & Demons is fucking HUGE...I wouldn't be surprised if Transformers 2 outgrossed it by less than $100 million OS. very likely actually. It should pull in $480 million worldwide.

Re: Intl. Box-Office: Terminator: Salvation hits $200 million OS
Another 61% drop for T4, exactly as I predicted. Hopefully people will finally see the light, Transformers will kill it next weekend. With this number I see about 230 million OS for T4 and another 10 million from Mexico maybe. 365 WW total.
I can't believe Wolverine and Star Trek will have higher WW grosses.

Re: Intl. Box-Office: Terminator: Salvation hits $200 million OS
Quote: Fox International’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine took an estimated $1.8m from 14 territories, pushing its international total to $182.9m.
The spin-off opened powerfully in India, ranking top of the local chart with $1.4m from 322 screens. It was Fox’s biggest opening weekend ever in India and the biggest opening for a Hollywood film in the market so far this year. I just want to say that Wolverine opened with $1.4 million OW in India. That is absolutely fucking impressive due to 3 reasons 1) The biggest OW of all x-men movies. 2) Biggest OW for a FOX movie in India. 3) Biggest opening for a hollywood movie this year in India. The reason it did so well is because for the last 3 months there have been no local releases due to a strike between multiplexes and producer. The strike is over now but the first local movie that released after the strike bombed.

With Japan and China still it will certainly pass X2s international, and should pass 200 million, hopefully even more.
