I'm not even going there. Both movies were unspectacular. Both in terms of quality and box office results.

Actually I thought Elektra was slightly better quality wise.

Sure, Elektra was a bigger flop, in terms of how much it made. But not in terms of how much it cost.
Elektra:
Costs: $60M est.
DOM: $24,000,000.
INTL: $20,000,000.
US RENTALS: N/A
______________________________
Catwoman:
Costs: $120M est.
DOM: $40,000,000.
INTL: $42,000,000.
US RENTALS: $30,000,000 (In 3 weeks)
Both just as bad as each other really...will both make profit after worldwide rentals/sales are counted.

Well, Elektra may be making less money.
but at the end of the day, catwoman was subjected to more ridicule, more fun was made of it .. and honestly, having seen neither yet, I would prefer watching elektra over catwoman any day.

Yep. But Elektra was still a less-painful movie.
I think I'm gonna pull out that Catwoman vs. Bourne Supremacy quote I loved so much.

Algren, why do you make asshole posts like this?
From all your ranting it still stands as dubious if youve seen ELEKTRA or not and you keep ranting on about the box office like it PROVES something? So what, it bombed - its still a better movie than half of the crap in theaters right now, and certainly better than Catwoman - which was not bad....more horrific.
Elektra cost less than $40m to make, by dvd time it will have made its costs back. Catwoman however cost $100m to make and the gulf in quality is unbelievable; even the CGI in Elektra was miles better than anything in Catwoman. The point is audiences clearly dont want comic book heroines onscreen. The action hero role seems to be reserved for men only - and thats why both of these movies performed terribly. Although your argument is a flimsy one since Catwoman opened on a month where box office figures were rife and it had holiday weekdays to get those idiots in the theaters.
It had no redeeming qualities whatsoever and is one of the least enjoyable movies ive seen - im game for camp fun, its just Charlies Angels does that 100000x better.
A cat breathing on Halle Berry's face to resurrect her into someone who orgasms over Catnip? Please.....
So lets stop making threads designed to boost your ego, start arguments and make you look like a huge asshole shall we?

Let's see, though. In my eyes, Elektra was of better film quality than Catwoman, better star, better characters, better writing... well, better everything, concerning the two films themselves. But, in most eyes, Catwoman was a bigger failure, box office-wise. Although, that isn't saying much, because they both failed on most levels. Catwoman's only real downside is double Elektra's budget. Otherwise, they would be on level playing fields.
As for touching a nerve, wasn't that your intention all along in creating this thread? For a guy who seems to redeem himself most of the time, you do tend to walk over to the other side sometimes, and be a flat out PROVERBIAL asshole. It doesn't bother me, though, your insults to a film I liked and praise to a film I loathe have fallen on deaf ears. I've merely corrected what you said, and will move on.

Yeah, it doesn't. But this thread is clearly for the last round in the Elektra Supporters vs. Elektra Haters. It's DONE! The movie failed, it couldn't even muster up a 2x multiplier. So? I liked the movie, and for now, that's all that matters to me, not that it failed horribly. And see the damn movie, before you go and shoot your mouth off about Catwoman being a better movie, Algren.
This thread's sole purpose was for personal attacks, and I think anyone with eyes can see that.

Except for Algren. He probably thinks its a perfectly legit thread that "caused a bunch of over-sensative queers to get all mad. And did I mention I think queers should be burned to death? The whole lot of em, gassed. Oh, and my taste in anything is the best. Your taste is horrible. Now, shut up, or I will wave a little Shame on You smiliee in your face for having an opinion." (Or Something like that)

while they both did terrible at the BO.... I remotly liked them both...
however...
if they both had been released in the summer, or both in January, I honestly think Elektra would have made more money... *shrug*
not fair to compare which one sucked more when one came out in the "prime" time for an action movie

I have not seen Elektra, but I have watched Catwoman.
And let me say this: It is beyond laughter. The film is an insult to humanity as a whole. I seriously had to rethink my stance on us human beings as a species. If we can stoop that low as is evident in Catwoman, it's unlikely we'll fall much harder. We're already at the bottom. Catwoman is among the most pathetic excuses for a film I have seen in a while. And I have seen some royal trash.
Maybe if I end up watching The Phantom of the Opera, it'll make Catwoman look like Casablanca in comparison, but as it is, Catwoman's the bottom of the barrel right now.
Btw, for the most part, Elektra's performance really doesn't matter. It would if it affected Garner's future career, but her show is hot, and she's going to be in more films, I'm sure. Among actresses currently working, I can name you a hundred off the top of my head that are way worse than Garner could ever be. I'd like to see her in more films, tbh. Think of it this way: if she was arresting enough in Daredevil for that crapfilm to get a spin-off because of her and only her (and it was because of Garner and only Garner), then that's saying quite something. We know this for sure: Garner shone in Daredevil and (according to critics and audiences alike) was by far the best part of Elektra. So she was tolerable in two (apparently*) intolerable films. Now that's charisma!
*'Apparently' because I haven't seen Elektra (Daredevil I saw, and it was intolerable, except for a few scenes here and there, a decent/ok job by Affleck, and a charming Garner).

Huh? There is absolutely NO way anyone can think The Phantom of the Opera is worse than Catwoman, that statement is about to make me cry. #-o
Anyways... Catwoman sucked, Elektra wasn't bad and didn't deserve its poor gross, my 2 cents.
