 Re: Big 3 Bailout
Chrysler is now under Chapter 11.
So does this now mean that if Chrysler owns money to me I can go and fuck myself?

 Re: Big 3 Bailout
So what do you folks think is gonna happen when GM goes the Chrysler way end of the month?
Not much because everyone saw it comming?
Or big panic and a DowJones drop?
Discuss.

Predictions are that car sales will not even stabilize for the next few years and might not ever reach the same levels they were at in the past decade. That and US cars still suckcompared to imports. At least sink that money into high speed rail if you're not looking to cut even on a transportation investment any time in the near future or perhaps ever.

 Re: Big 3 Bailout
over at cnn.com: GM is to announce chapter 11 filing tomorrow at 8:00am.
Strike that, Barack Obama is to discuss the bankruptcy with the nation at 11:30am. WTF??? Can we at least pretend not to be sinking into socialism???

 Re: Big 3 Bailout
Canada and Ontario will pump $9.5B into the company and get a 12.5% stake. Urgh, I do NOT want our taxpayers' money to go into a has-been auto company.

 Re: Big 3 Bailout
Maybe they should have given the money to Ford. One big healthy US manufacturer sounds better. And a small (Chrysler) supported by FIAT.

We're (USA) dumping another $30 Billion and we get 60%! Then again, we've also dumped in about $20 billion already, so I assume that's where the 12.5% comes from.

Yeah it helps the dow that it is gone. I think the govt has to do something or else GM would go Chapter 7 which would be worse.
