At least Detroit beat Minnesota.
Go San Jose!

 Re: NHL 2008-2009 Season
Update
1. Sharks - (79) 52-16-11 115 pts 2. Bruins - (78) 51-17-10 112 pts 3. Red Wings - (79) 51-19-9 111 pts
Sharks final six: @ Edmonton (4/2), vs. Anaheim (4/4) , @ Anaheim (4/5), vs. Colorado (4/7), vs. Phoenix (4/9), @ Los Angeles (4/11) Bruins final six: vs. Ottawa (4/2), vs. NY Rangers (4/4) , @ Ottawa (4/7), vs. Montreal (4/9), @ Buffalo (4/11), @ NY Islanders (4/12) Red Wings final six: @ St. Louis (4/2), vs. Minnesota (4/5), @ Buffalo (4/6), vs. Nashville (4/9), vs. Chicago (4/11), @ Chicago (4/12)
I have a bad feeling that game against the Sharks is going to come back and bite the Bruins in the ass. Unless they completely don't show up against one of their final three, I don't see how the Sharks miss out on the President's Trophy.

Unless the Sharks don't show up against the Av's I think they've got it pretty much wrapped up. At least we got Kessel back tonight. And he scored too which is even better.
And the Panthers really picked a bad time to lose one.

Oil are done. Hopefully this spells the end for MacT. I like him, but... they need new blood.

And that pretty much wraps up the President's Trophy. The only way the Bruins can get it now is if the Sharks lose to both the Coyotes and Kings while they win out. The Bruins have a chance to win out but there is no way in hell the Sharks are losing to both the Coyotes and the Kings.

 Re: NHL 2008-2009 Season
Pittsburgh clinched a playoff spot. Considering it was sketchy even up to a few weeks ago, that's no small feat. Getting at least one point in roughly 90-95% of their games since late February didn't hurt either.

I guess Boston doesn't want that President's Trophy.

 Re: NHL 2008-2009 Season
Another year, another Bruins/Canadiens matchup. Yippeee!
Hopefully since we're the number one seed we won't have so much Canadian advertising plastered all over the boards. If I see a Pizza Pizza 967-1111 (or whatever the fuck the number was) sign I'm gonna flip out. Then again it'd be nice if a TV sports channel here in America covered it so you wouldn't have as many of those signs.
Unlike last year though I think we match up better with them in this series. We should get out of the first round for the first time in about a decade. We just can't let them get under our skin like they did on Thursday.

 Re: NHL 2008-2009 Season
Of course they had to schedule Game 1 while I'm in my long evening class. I had to miss the first two periods of last week's game because of this class and I'm gonna have to do it again this week. At least none of the other games in the series are scheduled for Thursday.

I'm going to Game 1 Pens/Flyers ... Igloo Club seats, I'll be in the orange Bobby Clarke jersey, probably taking a beer shower.
GO FLYERS!

Pens take a nice one game lead, but the rivalry between the two teams will probably push this to the seven games some have predicted here.
