Do you have another TV so you could watch one of the two while taping the other?

Since so many auditioners who got through didnt get any air time I think fox should have done the reverse in doing 3 night shows(Mon,tues,wed) during the cities and hollywod auditions then bring it down to 2 nights. That would give most of us who only caught a blur especially in the hollywood auditions of those who made it and some who didnt make it. Instead fox is going to put idol on three nights when it gets to 24 singers which maybe be overkill.

Currently, Im rooting for that Jennifer girl...You know, the "big" one, that could really sing....

Vonzell( Kickboxing girl) is my pick, along with the Big Girl who had a cold.

When or if they move it to 3 nights they should put it on Thursdays at 9pm.

Oh yeaa, cause Thursdays are SO empty..

Jennifer and that country girl seem like the most obvious ones to make the Top 12 so far.

I remember watching a show about a year ago on FOX. It was similar to this one, in that Ryan Seacrest was the host, Paula, Randy, Simon were judging and everyone was always crying. Hell I even think it was called American Idol too. But they can't be the same show, because that one actually spent quality time on people singing.

I think the total time spent showing people singing this episode would amount to 10% of the episode. The rest was on the heartwrenching drama of whether or not the kids we have grown to care for (who? Yeah that's right) have made it through. It's not like it was even dramatic. Sufficient backstory time = through, hardly seen at all = not so through. I felt bad for, the black girl with the cold, Rasheeda she had a good voice even with cold and would have liked to see her move forward. Not too sorry about Aa'isha leaving - long over due. Same deal with Angel she got some bug eyes.

The 16 year old who cries a lot should never sing a Kelly Clarkson song again - she was more like a ugly disaster (oh snap!). I'm glad she made it through because each time that she does it just increases the level of hilarity that her eventual elimination will bring. The rest of them? Meh. I hope to form some sort of opinion on them tomorrow, but for right now I can only say that I like Anwar and Lindsay (I think that's her name)

Anyone else enjoy Paula's "acting" performance? She can't sing, she can't critique, she can't form coherent thoughts and now we know she can't act. Apparently having the ability to dance is worth a hell of a lot more than I thought.

I was thinking the same thing, un, didn;t this hsow used to focus on people singing and less on Paula trying to act.

The peisdoe from last night was really dull and b/c of Alias I won't get to see tonight. Hollywood is usually the best par to fthe season, this year is really sucking. The auditions were dull, Hollywood is dull....who they hell decided to make the show suck.

If it does not get better soon, I'm jumping ship.

I still find it entertaining, but I agree with both of you. I would like to see more of the auditions less of the fluff. I like to see dejected teenagers crying as much as the next person, but they overdue the human emotion part a little too much. They're trying to turn it into a soap opera instead of a singing competition.

They also tried to build up the drama between the last two rooms over the last 1/2 hour, when it was painfully obvious which room was going home and which was staying.

Luckily for me I get east and west coast feeds of the major networks, so I can watch both AI and Alias tonight!

They've toyed too much with the formula. I don't even understand what the point of tonight's episode is.

I like the emotion,but how can I get attached to these people if I don't hear them sing! What makes it interesting is seeing the dleusional people, but also getting invested in contestants. I don't need to hear Paula's speech 4 times, that's anout 7 or 8 contestants I could have heard sing.

This year it seems to be all about trying to built drama and suspense, did not learn that by focusing on the singing part of the show that you build drama and suspense. We didn't here anyone sing till what 20 minutes into last night show, I hoenstly thought they were not goign to show any signign at all, since they said, the had to perform, cut to the judges decision...it was like, wtf?

I find myself getting bored this season, last night I got up and folded laundry and left it on in the background, the week before I pbarely watched the end of the show.

Last year was more fun, we had William Hung during the auditions, in Hollywood I was rooting for camille, who manged to be entirely lackluster while int he final 12..I was just more invested at this point last year then I am now.



Seriosuly, its like you are all excited, not go home, when you come back we are going Apprentice style and about half of you will be fired.

I am also not liking this whole chair business. While I like seeing disappointment and dejection on the faces of these Idol hopefuls I much prefer it in group form. Seeing one 17 year old breakdown in front of the judges is kind of meh, seeing 20 - now that's television. The flipside is the same deal. I'd much rather see 20 people celebrating with each other after making it through than just one person jumping up and down and running to hug the judges. Will that even be possible now that they have a desk separating them?

All this individual business does is that it allows for conflict to arise between whoever gets cut and the judges. Now they can talk back to the judges like in the audition shows. I liked Hollywood because the amount of talking back was kept to a minimum but with the advent of this chair I see it making a strong comeback tonight. Maybe I'm wrong, and I will be pleased if I am. I just don't see how this wait three weeks and then tell them individually will make for interesting, exciting and pleasurable TV.

The only thing I can see myself liking this episode for is if they decide to devote a lot of time to the actual judges process in selecting the finalists, but I doubt that's going to happen.

more comments from the judges as to why someone was rejected would be nice, even if they don;t tell the person, to hear them discuss it would be interesting.

Wow, that was a bust.

Not even "nothing to live for" Faith could make it wortwhile. Not only are we treated to zero of the judges deliberations but we don't really get to hear any singing at all. The most we heard was from the big crooner who wouldn't get up from the seat...and he didn't get through! I think they showed him for at least a minute and a half and this was after he was told he was gone.

I'm surprised they let two 'rockers' through, I could have done without Constantine his personality grates and that Bo has a better voice. Overall I wasn't too disappointed in any of the judges decisions. I was surprised by them not putting Jacyln through since we've seen her in past episodes, but when it came down to it I didn't really care if she made it or not.

Lindsay and Nadia are my favourite female singers from the 12 and Anwar, David and Travis. Those are my three favourite male singers. It's going to be interesting to see which 6 guys and 6 girls America votes to the top 12, and I'd be shocked if Anthony or Mario don't make it.

Agreed that the only surprises were both rocker guys making it, the elimination of that rotund fella and the elimination of that Crumb girl. My faves, David and Sarah, made it through so it's all good.

Some of the guarantees for the top twelve are David, Anwar, Mario, Anthony, Sarah and Carrie.

By the way, I find that Mikalah chick incredibly overbearing and from what I've heard from her, she could be the next Leah Labelle =; .

Carrie, Nadia, and Mario are my early pics for the final three. Unless the producers pull another La Toya London out of their asses like they did last season :wink:

Haven't really been paying attention to it much this season, but my favorite from what I've seen (personality and talent-wise) are Mario and Mikalah.

But I think Mikalah is not the type of person many people (well, girls mostly) would vote for. :-\
