Every once in a while the Oilers forget to show up.

Hank now has a 12 year contract. $6 mil a year.
Does anyone know how long Datsyuk has a contract for?

 Re: NHL 2008-2009 Season
Is there a reason why the Canadiens dressed as 1930's prisoners today?

It was actually a vintage jersey. From 1912-13. Before the NHL was even founded. There's probably a reason nobody remembers them.

Was that even their original jersey?

I can't believe a team with Crosby and Malkin is going to miss the playoffs. Que. Stanley Cup hangover is legit.
But like... really?

Bruins up their lead to 20 in the division and 14 in the conference. And we're now only 10 points away from matching last year's point total.

Yeah, but they still almost lost to the Sens.

 Re: NHL 2008-2009 Season
Wings register 27 shots in the first period... and 51 shots total.
I guess they like playing Nashville, as it's the THIRD time they've hit 50 shots against them.

This is the Habs we're talking about. They suck and never fail to show just how well they can suck. Stupid Habs. Peace, Mike

 Re: NHL 2008-2009 Season
http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/326 ... Y1f4pivLYFIn addition to being just about the funniest NHL player right now, Alexander Semin is incredibly consistent. He's only gone point-less in five games. And on a points per game basis, he'd be second -- behind only Malkin. Between him, Ovechkin, Backstrom, and Green...the Caps are friggin' crazy...

Sundin just won it in a shootout for the Canucks in his return to Toronto. Doesn't get any better than that.

 Re: NHL 2008-2009 Season
Ovechkin needs 7.6 shots per game in the next 22 games to break Phil Esposito's 38-year-old record...
He's averaging 6.6 per game right now...

 Re: NHL 2008-2009 Season
I hate how everyone who doesn't follow hockey thinks that Ovechkin/Crosby are the best 2 players in the league.
