The Angels needed an offense, and they got one, and especially one who can bat left handed. The Yanks may have stole one of our top players, but we got one of theirs. This is also the second consecutive year we stoled a deal from the White Sux. Angels for 2009!!!

and another note, I got a 13 Angels home game mini plan for the 2009 season for only $97.50 (which includes a Boston and Yankees game). Quite a bargain huh.

Adam Dunn got sign by the Washington Nationals for a two-year, $20M deal.

In other words, the Nats have a Dunn deal.

He has a problem with the everyone's money but he is fine with him making about 18 Million last year.

He went soft on steroids back in the 1990s instead of taking a hard stance but now he is acting like that didn't exist. Just worry about things since MLB changes the rules.

He only has problem with Aaron's record but no other records/events.

He cares so much about Arod but not the other 103 players that are on those lists.

Griffey is back in Seattle, which I think is pretty great. I hope he does well. On a related I'd like to see Thome back on the Tribe at some point.

Spring Training starts in two days. I can't wait.

Just a note, i updated the title of the thread for the 2009 season, i figure we can start predictions with spring training games right around the corner.

I am very excited for this season. the indians appear to be healthy again and if they get anything out of hafner and their starting pitching is adequate, there's no reason to think they can't be right back in the mix for the al central title. they have what should be a great bullpen and, barring injury, finally have a great closer. thank god i won't have to sit through any more stomach-churning joe borowski save situations anymore.

Early word is that hafner has been looking good in batting practice so far and he has said this is the first time he has no pain in his shoulder in 2 years. if he can get back to even close to what he was in 2006, our lineup should be pretty good.

I am predicting a good year for my Angels too.

We have the aquisition of Bobby Abreu, which will strenghten our offense. Vladdy is healthier than ever, and he even lost a decent amount of weight, so that he can run again. Torii is now considered the team leader. All three players I mention are the outfield, which means our defense is strong too. Juan Rivera is the fourth person in the outfield, if one of them is out (even if not, he can still be in the DH role many times). We even have Gary Matthews Jr. for backup in the outfield. As for our infield, let's see how Morales does at first base, in addition of having Figgins at third, we have quite a variety of infielders at second and short stop (Izturas, Aybar, Kendrick, and even Brandon Wood). Our pitching staff is as strong as ever too. We still have Lackey, Santana, Weaver, Oliver, and Saunders is looking to make a great comeback with him being healthy again after an injury hamper last season. Scott Shields is still our top reliever, and despite losing K-rod (who was hit and miss in my opinion), the Angels made a good choice with Fuentes as our closer.

Let's see how they do.

The Angels pounded the White Sox on the spring training season opener, 12-3. Napoli came through with the 2 run RBI double, not to mention the great defense by Brandon Wood at third base. Looks like the Angels are getting it together here.

Phillies: World Fucking Champions

No sarcasm Scott, the Phillies are World Fucking Champions!@!@!!!!!! Loss, no loss, doesn't matter because a) it's spring training and b) we're still the champs for another 7+ months!!!

I know, I was being sarcastic with that reply.

Also, don't forget that the Angels swept your Phillies during Interleague.

The Angels win again. So far, we are 3 for 3. Let's see how long this perfect record goes for. This time, it was Abreu that came through today, with two doubles.

The Tigers did great last spring training too

I was originally going to do this as one league today with the other tomorrow, but I realized after the first division that it would just take too long. So, a division a day it is.

AL EAST

1. Red Sox - 93-69
2. Yankees - 90-72
3. Rays - 85-77
4. Blue Jays - 75-87
5. Orioles - 72-84

*Notes*

• Red Sox: The wildcard is Brad Penny. If he's healthy the Red Sox are going to be one great ballclub this year. Anything over 10+ wins and they'll be in fantastic shape. The big question mark though is Wakefield. He needs to be above .500 this year, I don't care if it's 12-11. And then you've got smaller moves like Smoltz. The Sox didn't make a big signing during the offseason, but if these little moves work.....

• Yankees: Look at the moves they made this year. Then look at the players they lost. They're practically the same team. They'll be more balanced this year though. I can't see this team with Sabathia being horrible one month and then on fire the next. I think it'll just be a straight forward year. They need Burnett to be good (15+ wins) though. He's the wildcard. If he isn't or gets hurt (which is the way most of his career has gone. And now that he has a contract and got paid......), there's a chance they slip into third.

• Rays: They'll fall back to Earth this year, but they'll be in the hunt for most of the year.

Comon, I want to see what you predict for the AL West.

The AL West isn't worth his time.

Fyi, Lots more analysis needed on Yanks. First the pickups of Sab and Tex fair out-weigh anyone that they lost. And last year they only lost about 30 starts from Wang and Joba's injuries which is the only reason their playoff streak got stopped at what, 13 years.

Went to the South Africa/Angels game today to see my friend DOMINATE the Angels.

From the time I was there he went 3/3, RBI and 2 runs.
