I didn't laugh once. T. part looked like a lame R rated Freaky Friday rip-off. Buck was better. I chuckled a bit when he was calling the kid a fag and stuff, just so it would turn out he enjoys ballet.

But it was dull. The concept is good though, so there's definitely room for improvement.

That's probably when Diablo Cody stopped penning the show.

I don't hate her. I thought Juno was awful. I was looking forward to USoT a lot, as it sounded like it could be really good. Didn't have a problem with Diablo Cody writing it. Unfortunately the connection between Juno and this first episode was painfully obvious, and as I didn't like Juno, guess what - USoT didn't impress me at all.

So I apologize for forming a completely valid opinion after giving her benefit of the doubt that maybe Juno wasn't just my cup of tea and hopes she would do better with her next effort. I wanted to puke when she used teen sex/pregnancy as a theme again.

Also I checked on imdb. Diablo penned first three episodes. From that point other writers took it over. So maybe I was right.

You should get off you pedestal now. Its actually just a pile of shit.

Hopefully everyone comes to their senses and finds SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE to be shit :P.

Anyway, I plan on downloading the pilot. I'm just wondering how Sunday night's lineup of L WORD, TARA, and CALL GIRL did in the ratings.

That's encouraging. The pilot was terrible.

Yeah, the show gets better as it continues. Episode 4 and 5 are great! The end of episode 5 with Marshall getting frustrated is a good moment. I can't wait for the rest. I love Marshall and his boy crush! Ridiculously adorable. Toni Collette is simply brilliant, too.

Peace,
Mike

Holy fucking shit at episode 10. That was nuts!

This show is awesome. It always goes by so fast. Before I know it, the episode ends.

Peace,
Mike

Up to the last episode the show was getting near the best stuff on TV currently. Unfortunately Diablo Cody sucked up the last episode so hard. Awful dialogue and seemingly out-of-character characters and lack of anything happening story-wide completely undermined the hard work of other people that managed to turn this show into some really good TV.

Here's hoping for a DC free second season. And they should have really avoided the lame-o twist about the alters.

Hmm, interesting perspective. I don't see the whole "sucked up the last episode so hard" at all. I really, really enjoyed the finale. Not sure what you mean by "twist about the alters" either... because I don't remember any twist. Maybe you can clarify that for me.

I enjoyed that as Tara was getting closer and closer to possibly pinpointing the reason why she has dissociative identity disorder, the alters basically went all out trying to protect themselves. Toni Collette has always been really adept at doing the transitions, but she shined in this episode, the first time she has had to transition multiple times within such a short span across all three alters. The way she portrayed Alice at the end there was really creepy, and I started to think "wow, what secret are they really harbouring from Tara?".

Can't wait for season 2.

Peace,
Mike

The twist that her altering didn't start in college, she was altering before that. That was the twist about the alters.

Yeah, Toni was awesome in the transitions, but the whole episode felt really empty and uneventful comparing just to those that preceded it. The only thing I really liked was the final shot.

I have now watched the first nine episodes and I too love it. Definitely did not expect it to be so damn good. I love the storyline with Marshall and Jason. I also really enjoy Rosemarie DeWitt on this show.

Anyway, I'll be disappointed when I finish the first season. Good thing another season starts in March. It will suck doing one episode a week though since they're so short.

I know this show is now off the air, but I finally watched Season 3 this week. What a terrific fucking season and a wonderful finale. I'm sad this was canceled but since it was I'm glad the ending was kind of fitting. It kind of felt like it was a series finale despite them not knowing it was going to be ending. There wasn't really a big cliffhanger or anything. Most of the characters had an ending, and while it's open with Tara even her ending was kind of perfect. My friend I watched it with wasn't happy with the ending but they're someone who always wants more and needs everything explained.

Great show. The cast was just terrific.

I would contribute to a Kickstarter to see a movie or something ;). It's not a case where I feel it's needed, but I wouldn't be against one at all.
