 Re: 2008 NFL Discussion
Goddell is out of his mind if he believes this topped last year's Super Bowl. I would've liked for that to have been the case, but this didn't "top" last year.

 Re: 2008 NFL Discussion
Well that was one helluva game. First three quarters shit? How about the longest play in Super Bowl history to end the first half? It may not have been the best-played game, but it was certainly exciting.
And no way was that an incomplete pass. Warner didn't even have his arm forward. There'll be no controversy about it. The refs got it right.

Fuck those championship hats are horrible. I'm not sure if they're quite as bad as the '05 beige hats the Patriots got, but they look like they were tailor made for a Hartford Whalers championship.

Electrifying fourth quarter made up for 3 lame quarters. That Holmes touchdown reception was an instant classic, a carreer definer at this point for him. You'll see that one on greatest super bowl highlights for a long time.

As a neutral observer I'm telling you the arm moved forward. Discussion would be if he still had possession then. But that's what a review is for. Doesn't matter if it was the correct call, the very fact that they didn't even check is a travesty

If the game had finished the way it was looking like it was going to with a 20-7 score with only three or six points added onto the score on either side, this would've been easily one of the worst Super Bowl's, at least in recent memory.

Well I enjoyed the game. And the ball got knocked loose when Warner's arm was behind his head. It was a fumble.

And you all seem to forget that last year's game was terribly boring until the fourth quarter. Just like you all are complaining about this year.

The ball moved, but I would say from what I saw that he still had possession. But again. That's not the point. It is the biggest game of the season, you have the opportunity to get it right beyond doubt. Why aren't you doing it? Why even bother having booth reviews if you don't use it in the most important play of the year. Plus, remember: Pittsburgh had a personal foul. The next attempt would have been from the 31 yard line. It's not as if this didn't matter

"Boring" (Hard fought 7-3 game - I wouldn't exactly call that boring, but I know there are many who would disagree with that) compared against pure shit with a flash of brilliance. That game was at least close. Pittsburgh dominated for three quarters. Rorschach wrote: 19-0 is much bigger than 6 SB wins. Memorable, yes. Not overall compared to 6 Super Bowl wins.

I said the same thing last year. The thing about last year though is that the forth quarter was more memorable, the Tyree catch is 100x bigger than any play in this game, and what was at stake was MUCH bigger. 19-0 is much bigger than 6 SB wins. The 2007 Patriots were the most high profile team since the early and mid 1990's Cowboys. They were undefeated. They lost with 35 seconds to go. Doesnt get any more dramatic.

But seriously, a healthy Patriots team is just too scary offensivly to handle. This year they put up over 100 yards in just 4 1/2 minutes until Brady got hurt. With Brady and Maroney healthy gaain and hopefully Moss and Welker stay ok, and a more balanced attack with McDaniels gone...the Pats are just gonna be SCARY! SCORE AT WILL SCARY! Is it september 2009 yet??

it was a fumble, the ball was out of his hand before his arm was moving forward.
Great 4th quarter. Boring ass game though.
Titans vs. Rams is still the best super bowl in recent memory

First thing first.
If the Lions magically make the Super Bowl next year and lose with 35 seconds left, I will officially be on suicide watch.
Next... This is Pitt's SECOND SB in a row in which the losing team had some HORRIBLE calls against them. Pathetic. I mean, that roughing the passer penalty? Seriously?
Larry Fitz is officially the 2nd greatest receiver of all time. If he has another post season like this, I will make him #1.
If it wasn't for the Red Wings... man would I be a depressed human being.

The TV sadi they reviewed it upstairs...but in that situation they should have stopped the game as it was kindof an important play. but then again, teh NFL doesn't mind mistakes during the game.

Titans vs. Rams is still the best super bowl in recent memory I agree actually, although the best one I have seen is Super Bowl 23 with the Niners beating the Bengals SB 25 was a classic too. This game was no classic, the first 3 quarters sucked.
