Is This Whole Rod Blagojevich Scandal THAT Big A Deal??
When you sit back and really look at the big picture of this whole Blagojevich trying to sell Obama's Senate seat, you really think this is that big a deal as though this sort of thing probably goes on every day and the only reason it's getting so much attention is because it was Obama's seat?? I mean, if this were anyone else, you think the media would be making as big a deal about it as they are now?? From where I'm sitting, the only thing this guy Blagojevich is really guilty of is simply getting caught.. Thoughts??

I'm not sure what your point is. Yes, he is guilty (well, of course we don't know for sure - he hasn't been proven guilty in the court of law yet). He's guilty not just "of getting caught"; he's accused of corruption the likes of which even Illinois has rarely seen.
And yes, the reason it's getting a lot of attention is because it's Obama's seat. That doesn't mean that we wouldn't even hear about it otherwise.

MR. GREEN wrote: sort of thing probably goes on every day No it doesn't. Corruption in American politics occurs more frequently at the community, local levels. Corruption decreases as you move up the hierarchy of American politics, and most corruption in the upper levels of politics is exposed by the media.

The only reason it seems to decrease as you go higher up is that the worst corruption up there is legal. Like work at the SEC for 2 years and get a job on Wall Street with the same guys you were just in charge of regulating.
