Post Re: NBA 2008-2009 season
Somehow the Nuggets are in 2nd place in the West. I don't think anyone has them as a contender later in the year, but I'm excited for how well we have been doing. I just hope that we don't end up facing the Spurs in the 1st round of the playoffs again.

As for the Eastern Conference, it's pretty interesting at this point because I think Boston has that swagger that they think they are the best team in basketball (and they may as well be, or at least top 3). But at the same time Lebron has the swagger that he's the best player in basketball (which he may be, or at least top 3). Even though Howard's been playing out of his mind and it's never wise to bet against D Wade, I'm pretty excited to see a Boston-Cleveland rematch to go to the finals this year. I think both can and will win 65 games.

It's been a pretty good NBA year thus far!

Celtics win again. They go to 21-2. With that win that makes 13 in a row for the Green. And with their 21-2 record they're now off to the best start in the franchise's history.

So yeah......they're good.
January 9th. :)

The Cavaliers will lose to the Celtics again and we'll all be witnesses? ;)

Hill doesn't get that last second shot if Howard was in the game. Howard was dominating when he was in there but ended up only playing 20 minutes due to his knee. But great game!

Well, sure made for an exciting finish with Howard hurt, that's for sure.

I'm still eager to see how well Richardson meshes with Nash. Nash and Bell were best friends and although Richardson is a much better player than Bell is now, we'll see if Nash learns to trust him.

Any chance the Celtics match the '95-'96 Chicago Bulls for the best start in NBA history? The Bulls went 41-3 going on to a 72-10 record. The Celts only need to win 19 more in a row for that to happen. :funny:

I guess the 76ers were underperforming ... but did they really think they were going to compete with the elite teams in the East with what they have? Elton Brand may be a great addition, but I never thought it would guarentee them anything above the 4 spot in the East...

I don't think this will help the Sixers... they're just a bad fit... Miller/Igoudala/Dalembert/Williams are only effective running and that's why they were good last year, with Brand they have to play halfcourt basketball all the time and it's ruining them, they just have the wrong pieces for it, no shooting, etc. Also Miller and Brand really don't work together because Miller can't shoot and Brand's best weapon is the 'pick and pop' which requires a PG who can, they won like 27 games last them they were a pair on the Clippers. They should've gotten Josh Smith, that would've been godly.

Detroit scored 12 points in the 4th quarter almost losing...

And Cleveland finally lost.

Damn I swear what's wrong with the Rockets this year. It could be the fact that there never Healthy but losing to teams like the Grizzles and Clippers? OUCH.

No in general... he takes at least one in every close 4th quarter and always at the worst possible time for a dumb shot... it's ridiculous... even if he makes one every once in a while it's still the DUMBEST shot we could take, Bosh is about as much of a 3 point shooter as Duncan. He took 25 all of last year and has now taken 11 in the last 11 games... and that's with not taking any in the last 2 because they were blowouts and he was sitting in the 4th... it's so annoying!

No best player, basically bench players starting...meh, I don't like that sacking. Didin't like Cheeks' too. Problem might be a bit higher too.

Only problem with Theus seemed to be playing the older guys instead of Thompson and Hawes. But they're probably trading the older guys soon anyways so that problem would've been fixed. So meh.

The Nuggets should restrict Melo to shooting in one quarter and one quarter only. Kidding aside, he has had some brilliant moments lately and some downright ugly ones.

I thought the same thing at the beginning of the season.

Though some of my other team predictions may be off (ahem Philly and Denver atm), I still stand by that.

Don Nelson might now be one of the top 5 worst coaches in the league....he's lost it big time. Managment wont fire him because he has them by the balls.
