I've vastly underBondeducated. I've seen CR, the Brosnan ones, Moonraker, the Man with the Golden Gun, License to Kill. That's right... no Connerys.

The Best Bond's (****)

1. Live and Let Die - (My favorite)

The Least Revisited Bond's (**)

22. Die Another Day

I don't understand how anyone could rank these two films first and worst?!? They are both of the same great style - - pure Bond formula flicks which get everything right (the "gags, gadgets, and girls" as I've read a million places this week).

Anyways, I'm just going to use two categories for my own rankings:

Great Bond Movies:

Die Another Day
The World is Not Enough
Live and Let Die
The Man With the Golden Gun
The Spy Who Loved Me
Moonraker
For Your Eye's Only
Octopussy
On Her Majesty's Secret Service

+ all of the Sean Connery Bond films

Crappy Bond Movies:

Casino Royale
Tomorrow Never Dies
Goldeneye
A View To A Kill
The Living Daylights
Licence To Kill

From what I recall:

Great enough to make a top 10 of the year

Casino Royale
The Spy Who Loved Me

The pretty good

Dr. No
Live and Let Die
On Her Majesty's Secret Service
The Living Daylights
Goldeneye
Thunderball
The World is Not Enough
Octopussy
Tomorrow Never Dies

Decent

Die Another Day
A View to a Kill

Mediocre

Moonraker

the rest I either don't remember that much seeing them since it was a long time ago (namely some of the Sean Connery ones like Goldfinger), or I haven't seen them at all...

I remember reading 7 years ago in the Guinness book of records that they estimate 3 billion people have watched one of these films on some sort of media over the last 40+ years.

All i know is the worst Bond is Live and Let Die, even worse then Moonraker. Its like watching a silly blacksplotation movie.

Best is a tie between Casino Royale, The Living Daylights, Goldeneye and You Only Live Twice.

So I have the best and worst ranked #1 and #2 according to you.

Bond films are subjective I guess but the sheen seems to worn off quite a bit on the new era of Bond.

I just can't believe people like Die Another Day that much (of course it was Bradley, so I really don't believe it to begin with). It was so phoney and going through the motions, there's not a hint of soul in the delivery of any line and whilst I don't have a problem with CG you have to sell it with a little more gusto than that awful climax. The highlight of the film was the swordfight.

In my opinion there are two Bond formulas and the over-the-top aspect has it's place, but there are definately great (You Only Live Twice, The Spy Who Loved Me... which ironically are like the same film) ones and exceedingly poor ones (Die Another Day, Moonraker).

Likewise of the more grounded Bonds, there are great ones (From Russia With Love, Casino Royale) and really poorer examples (Licence to Kill).

Guess so. Live and Let Die was just sooooo boring to me, it consisted entirely of Roger Moore getting his Jive on, so unappealing!!

You Only Live Twice was gloriously OTT right down to the missile thingy having hot vaginal sex with satellites.

I'm horribly uneducated in Bond. I have the first two box sets and haven't even watched all of them yet. I have seen all of Brosnan's films, Casino Royale and Goldfinger.

I would rank Goldfinger, Goldeneye and Casino Royale at the top of those six. Tomorrow Never Dies and TWINE are good. DAD is all right, nothing great.

This gives me the incentive to watch those box sets and get Vol. 3 and 4 soon.

I haven't seen all, but most of them.

Moonraker is CLEARLY the worst.

And of the four Brosnan Bond flicks, The World is Not Enough is my favorite. Sue me.

Um, yeah, Loyal...that's cos' Ronin featurs one of the best car chases ever. Better than seen in any Bond flick.

World is Not Enough would be a top tier Bond if it had...

- No Denise Richards
- A more substantial finale (the sub explosion needed to be bigger and more climactic)

The World is Not Enough had the coldest Brosnan moment when he shot Sophie, that certainly made it memorable.

Yeah I remember sitting in the audience saying, "Well that was different"

I can't remember a time where Bond basically just walks up to the main villian and shoots him/her.

Exactly, that car chase is still absolutely stunning.

I have only seen three Bond movies: Goldeneye, Die Another Day and Casino Royale (2006). I think it was Goldeneye in which the movie ended at a huge radio antenna observatory. I live 10 minutes from it! It's truly majestic. That was the best part of the movie.

I guess I need to become more educated on Bond movies, especially Connery ones.
