Begich takes the lead!!! 3 votes is all, but pretty telling that he came from 4000 behind and there are still 40 or 50 thousand more ballots, a lot coming from districts Begich is leading. Looks pretty good.

Nice!

This will keep Palin out of Washington for a while. Hopefully forever!

You do not understand, what Palin is in Alaska.

Serious you guys are blind followers.

You think one party are Nazi's and the other party is full of FDR's and Lincolns.

Coleman is vastly superior then Franken as a politician and as a senator. The other guy is a comedian who will tell stupid jokes in the Senate.

It is not good to do that as there are good and bad people on both sides.

Imo more people should not do a blind one party vote. Look at the person himself.

I am shocked some you people who are so much more smarter and educated then myself are still so partisan.

Do not in the quest of getting 60 senators, elected idiots as well.

Nice strawman, jackass. Just because you don't know anything about them, doesn't mean the rest of us don't either.

Coleman is a Bush patsy and one of the rubber stamp Republicans. Franken is a former comedian, and current host of a talk-radio show. And if you've ever listened to his show, he does a lot more than tell jokes. He's a very reasonable and knowledgeable voice on the left.

Well, you got the first part right. We are smarter.

Coleman has been all over the political map. Often changing positions just so he can get ahead. Smart politician? Sure. But he has accomplished almost nothing.

What do you care? You don't live in Minnesota anyway. And Coleman did a lot for Minnesota, pivotal in getting the Minnesota Wild hockey team here and the Xcel Energy Center built.

Yeah, give the man a break. He's only the 4th most corrupt Senator in Washington:

Post Re: Senate Recounts Likely
WTF if Franken going to do? Make Hillary cry of laughter with his stupid jokes.

Franken is man of reason, may someone cut of your blindfolds and earmuffs please... the guy was cracking jokes throughout the debate as well, because that is all he can do.

Considering you are blind to everything to the left to you, you should have seen the type of a race that was fought there.

It was likely one of the few races in recent memory, where the democrat went even lower then the Republican. Coleman suspended his negative campaigns with two weeks to go while Franken kept going.

Overall, both are idiots because Coleman is very questionable and Franken is still a huge idiot especially with the ads he ran in the end. Franken could have won the race, but he went far to neagtive and hate Coleman all you want, he played it pretty clean in the end and it saved him.

So, stop with this portrayal that the democrats are Angels and the other are Nazi's.

Stick to the middle and weed out the best ones, however no doubt there are far greater men on the democrat side for now.

However there were far greater men on the Republican side in 1994.

Anyways, what ever the result in Minnesota, it is a loss for the people.

I am surprised of this blind following, in 12 or so years we are going to have Republicans coming here calling all the democrats idiots and the cycle will go on forever.

I am sick and tired of this pointless partisanship.

I get worked up sometimes and say some stupid things.

My view point is simply....

Franken and Coleman are both idiots, so stop cannozing Franken please.

That is all I have to say.

You speak with forked-tongue...again. Like when you were all up McCain's ass and then suddenly flip-flopped like a dying fish on the beach to Obama.

Talk about blinders on. Jeez. You're in your own world having a discussion with cartoon characters that have no resemblance to anything actually going on in this discussion. No one has said that Dems are angels or that Reps are Nazis. Some of us prefer Franken to Coleman, which is true of about half of Minnesotans. Do they ALL have blinders on, you pathetic idiot?

Lol, if former McCain/Republican supporters did not go for Obama, you would be crying in a corner with 4 more years of Republican rule or it would have been 2000 all over again. Obama would have edged out with new voters, but Republican support collapsed and that helped him.

its called an election my friend.

People change views based on their Candidates performance during the election.

There were a lot of democrats for Jimmy Carter and then switched to Regan in the last days. They call them Regan democrats.

McCain get the upper hand after the conventions and then flooped big time. Palin looked good at first, but she was a bimboo.

If people did not change their views during elections, they would be very boring and useless.

After Obama's great performance during the financial crisis and the debates and getting the endorsement of a moderate like Powell, I then finally believed Obama was right.

The thing was McCain already had a record on the national stage so you knew where he stood.

Obama did not really so we had to see him first. You do not know how big the debates were for him.

My view is I disagree Franken is a great candidate and that Coleman is not much better. What ever the result, it will not be great for Minnesota. Prehaps, I went to crazy going after Franken, but I do not see any greatness in him. Imo the only reason he will get elected is because of the democratic takeover, not because of his personal ability. Considering you guys go after tons of Republicans for that reason, I found that unfair.

 You're not a voter, so I'm not talking about voters.

I'm talking about your utterly rudderless opinions devoid of any reason or principle. There is a difference between voters watching debates and ultimately moving from candidate to another, and you flipping and flopping within minutes or hours between how Coleman is a fantastic and skilled senator or a total idiot.

And then of course your outright lying by claiming everyone here thinks that Dems are angels from heaven while all Reps are Nazis. I haven't seen even the most partisan person here, right or left, have such a simplistic and one-dimensional view of anything.

I was an influence!!! :funny:

got 4 votes from Obama in California by convincing them to vote.

However, they then voted yes for the Gay Marriage ban.

It appears this explained what happened in California.

Ok, I skimmed this, but I think Manny was just reporting what I read, too. That both senators were seriously negative and dirty, and that people disliked them so much they all (15%) voted for an under-funded, un-promoted third party candidate who pretty much ran a campaign on 'not being either of your other two options.'

I don't take issue with any of that. I take issue with the idea that those of us who want Franken are simply blind partisans, that Coleman is a vastly more skilled senator and that Franken is an idiot, but Coleman is also equally an idiot. None of that really adds up.

Hmm... tides have turned in Alaska. Begich is leading by about 1,000 now.

Any word on how many ballots need to be counted in Minnesota? They're about 200 votes apart now.

Looks like dems will have about 58 seats at least.

I think Begich will end up winning. Minnesota is still too close to call. All the votes are counted as far as I know, which is why there is no update on the total. They're waiting for a recount. And I think Georgia will probably go to Chambliss in the re-vote, unfortunately.

My stance on this, despite what some here stupidly claim, is not about a filibuster-proof majority, since I don't think that 60 Dems is necessarily filibuster-proof (especially when one of those "Dems" is Lieberman). I hate Saxby Chambliss. Coleman is a rubberstamp Bushbot. And Stevens is a convicted felon. There are plenty of good reasons to oppose each of these guys.

Chambliss will win unless the democrats go all out in that state.

The problem is that even with the gigantic black vote in Atlanta, Chambliss still got close to a majority of votes.

Considering a run off, will see low turnout, I cannot see a situation.

Should he be kicked out, maybe, will he, does not look likely.
