 Your Obama Wish List
There's no question that Obama probably won't be able to get everything accomplished in one term. So what is YOUR priority wish list for an Obama administration?
Mine:
His tax plan and economic reform Health care reform Re-banning torture and shutting down Gitmo Withdrawing from Iraq Restoring court oversight on wiretapping Overturning DOMA and DADT

 Re: Your Obama Wish List
Making Americans feel optimistic about the future and see themselves united as a nation. (of course excluding the far right nutters who will never like him anyway just out of principle)
Bringing common sense to politics with no partisanship for the sake of partisanship. Gaining respect of moderate republicans as well, and being able to work with them together to do good for the nation as a whole.
Gaining respect and admiration for USA from the rest of the world, and using the respect to handle international conflicts in logical and calm manner, to create solutions that can be permanent.
Bringing a sense of decency and honesty to american politics as a whole. Not intentionally trying to lie or mislead the voters, other politicians or other countries.

On a not so related note: I just realized that Obama is not recognized by Firefox as a correctly spelled word, I except it too change soon

I've given up on us finding Bin Laden and I don't believe we'll see universal health care

Ending (or greatly restricting) the war on drugs. Overhaul of the tax system (simplifying things, not saying change specific tax policy) Overhaul of the veterans administration, veteran's health care system, and grievance/benefits process. Immigration reform (enforcement with easier path to citizenship for those here currently and to those who want to come in the future).

It would still cost less than the Iraq war.

His journalism career spans 61 years and includes a stint as a correspondent in Washington D.C. for ORF, Austria's public television station. He is something like the Wolf Blitzer of Austria. Or, at least, he was. Now, the respected US expert has stained his own report card with a string of blatantly racist remarks regarding the election of Barack Obama in the US. Speaking on a talk show on the Austrian public channel ORF on Wednesday, he said: "I wouldn't want the Western world to be directed by a black man. When you say that is a racist remark: right, without a doubt."Americans are "racists, now as before, and it must be going very badly for them that they so convincingly ... send a black man, and a black, very good-looking woman, into the White House," he said. The Austrian broadcaster distanced itself from his views, saying it was against any form of discrimination. "We have never had any comments from Mr. Emmerich which would indicate he has such opinions," Pius Strobl, head of communications at the channel told SPIEGEL ONLINE. ..Following his outburst, the moderator prevented the now-retired Emmerich from having another chance to speak, Pius said. But Emmerich himself voiced no regret. On the contrary, he even took a harder line in subsequent interviews. Obama's victory was an "extremely disconcerting development" he told the Austrian Standard on Wednesday, because "blacks aren't as politically civilized." Meanwhile, he told Die Presse in an interview published on Friday that Obama has "a devil-like talent to present his rhetoric so effectively." Dieter Brosz, a speaker of the Green Party, was one of many riled by the comments. He urged the channel not to give Emmerich a platform again. "Racist remarks have no place on ORF and are to be avoided." Well that isn't a good example haha. Foo is crazy. But did you guys see this http://www.economist.com/Vote2008/It is pretty crazy, though obviously it has flaws but still, a remarkable feature.

Our infrastructure is a mess and we need a lot fixing. I would like to see some fixes on the transportation, maybe invest in better railroads to give people alternatives to driving on the freeway. Now I am biased about Museums, and National Parks being some one in that field, but I do see him giving more money to the NPS, the Smithsonian, etc. The Government need to create more ways for people with college degrees to get jobs. Could open up positions for historians, scientists, etc.

Is change really coming? http://www.time.com/time/politics/artic ... 66,00.htmlWASHINGTON  President-elect Obama's advisers are quietly crafting a proposal to ship dozens, if not hundreds, of imprisoned terrorism suspects to the United States to face criminal trials, a plan that would make good on his promise to close the Guantanamo Bay prison but could require creation of a controversial new system of justice.
