Seriously, out of the Canadian teams you listed as possible teams you can back, you should have went with the Oilers. Re: Help Shack pledge his allegiance! My only concern with picking the Bills is that I literally know nothing about them, they're probably the most irrelevant team in the league to me right now. So yeah I'm not counting them out, but that's mostly why this isn't a 'slam dunk' decision. I'm having a rough time choosing in both categories.

If they played in any other city, I'd pick them no ifs ands or buts. Take away the city and I like no team more. But being the evil assholes of my division in the NBA and MLB and considering my contempt for the Pats, I simply can't side with a Boston sports team. It would be too much of a Judas of an act.

I'm a big big Wild and Jacques Lemaire fan... it pains me to cut them, but it had to be done, Toronto and Buffalo just rank too strongly on my list. So there's nothing I can say here other than my feelings for the other teams being stronger.

Feel free to laugh. The Tavares race is on! Not the most suspenseful answer I know... but at the start of the race I was probably leaning towards Edmonton or Vancouver actually... soon as it went on I realized how much I liked Buffalo, Minny, Boston and they got up there too. Edmonton and Vancouver ended up being easier to cut because I realized I liked Toronto more than them and wanted to be there when the curse ended, and had to be the Canadian team if I chose one, and then the rest fell into place.

I've been long debating over the day whether I should actually pick this team or drop them at 4th. In the end the answer came to me - despite the geographic tie in of my other teams being from Toronto and the Bills being tied to them, I just don't care about this team or franchise... if they played in any other city they'd be right near the bottom. In this case the reasoning of being someone who lives in Victoria but cheers for Toronto teams therefore because the Bills are playing a game there next year I should adopt them??? is ultimately too flimsy for me to get over that.

This is a bit surprising even to me, but once I admitted it wouldn't be the Bills, the shortcomings of Arizona and Atlanta in comparison to Minny was clear. For one thing, I support almost all the 4 Minnesota sports teams, I just like those franchises and it seems like the fans care... I could give a rats ass about Arizona and Atlanta and their sports teams. Then it came to specifics. For Atlanta, I realized they were on here for a specific number of reasons. They had a young exciting quarterback, and their mini underdog rise this year in the post-Vick era. In addition they seemed like a solid low-key team for me to jump on board, where they're not a 'favorite' but not painful to watch either. In the end though, I realized that was as far as I went with this otherwise irrelevant franchise.
Arizona... I have had a soft spot for them as the NFL's kicking bag the last couple years, but at the end of the day when things were so close it was the Arizona part of their name that did them in, I'll admit. Just would've felt... random. Also, I like defense. Cards don't do defense.
As for Minnesota, they seemed like the one team that had everything going for them. Watchable and entertaining but not too good already? Check. The Minnesota thing? Check. Cool jerseys and logos and thus having me root for them a little bit when I was younger? Check.
