 The Third Debate
The Third Presidential Debate is tomorrow night at 9pm EST. CBS News' Bob Schieffer, host of "Face the Nation," will moderate the debate. What will the turnout be for the final debate? Has most everyone already decided their vote, or are there still numerous undecided voters who will turn in to see the final presidential debate? Will the moderator have any success in directing the two candidates so as to ensure they answer each question they are asked? Will Obama be able to continue his upward progression and strong performances or will McCain be able to come up with a game changer that his campaign desperately needs? I'll be sure to see you all tomorrow night for our own reactions/debate about the last presidential debate of 2008.

 Re: The Third Debate
This debate is a bit of a dead rubber, unless they plan to fire mortars at each candidate as they answer questions.

McCain has said that he will bring up Ayers tonight. Let's see how that goes.

^ you only need to tune into Brothers & Sisters to get an idea. Rob Lowe ran a so-so campaign. He seemed to very involved but had many advisors giving him all kinds of advice.

 Re: The Third Debate
Some advice for McCain from The Corner:
What demeanor should McCain display tonight? Angry doesn't work. Solemn doesn't work. ake-smiley doesn't work. Instead, McCain should go back to his roots and unleash his inner smart-aleck. If Obama accuses him of being erratic in a crisis, he should say: "So I'm erotic in a crisis? Who knew?"
This approach has a couple of advantages. First, it enables McCain to show the more appealing side of his personality. Second, it throws Obama off his game. His handlers have surely anticipated every possible attack line about Ayers and Wright. And as a good liberal, he's waiting for the chance to say, "Have you left no sense of decency?" But he'd be hard put to defend against ridicule. The One can't handle the jokes.
So to get ready for the debate, McCain should lay aside the notes, crack open a beer, and watch Animal House.
Please for the love of Pete, John McCain, follow this advice.

How much input do you think either candidate has over how his campaign is run, organized, or even implemented? I know one of the fail safe comments about Obama's lack of experience is that he's spent the past 2 years running one of, if not the most successful bid for president in America's history. I'm just curious if there's a way to measure how much of that is Obama and how much is parties unknown behind the scenes. Same goes for McCain's fucked up campaign. McCain's campaign was just channeling default Atwater. Obama's you can tell is very hands on it holds his stamp.

I bet McCain doesn't mention Ayers unless the moderator brings it up. I think his plan is to go after seniors with heavy pandering and giveaways.

 Re: The Third Debate
McCain is still pushing his $300 billion mortgage, saying that his would put homeowners first. And he says people are angry... multiple times.
And Obama is pushing his middle class stand. He also made a good point about how McCain's plan would benefit banks.

 Re: The Third Debate
I think the early signs show McCain will be on the attack in this debate.

McCain seems like he's about to have a heart-attack, also, he's stammering and stuttering all over himself.
Sweet.

 Re: The Third Debate
Interesting comment by McCain "If you wanted to run against Bush you should have run for president 4 years ago".
I think McCain is on the attack and the moderator is asking for specifics, which is good.

 Re: The Third Debate
Wait, did Palin repudiate her comments about Obama hanging out with terrorists?
And also, about the $$ spent on negative attacks ... maybe it's because he spends more $$ overall.
