A couple teams in my league are trying to do a trade: Brett Favre for Steven Jackson/J T OSullivan The team A is trading Brett Favre is 5-0 and has: Peyton Manning Frank Gore Fred Taylor Willis McGahee Ray Rice The other team B is 3-2 and has: Trent Edwards Matt Ryan David Garrad Ryan Grant John Stewart Julius Jones I wrote a note protesting the trade to the commissioner since he decides if trades go through. Here is my explanation... Quote: First, the trade is essentially Steven Jackson for Brett Favre since JoePa already has Peyton as his starter the rest of the season. His bye week has passed so why does he need a 2nd rate QB? It's just filler.
Second, Steven Jackson vs Brett Favre. Brett Favre has average 24.25 PPG while Jackson is 5.4 PPG. How does this make sense? There's more, Jackson is on a team that is last in scoring at 10.8 PPG while the Jets avg 28.8 PPG. Who's going to be contributing more with these facts. There's more, if JoePa really needs a running back why not just pickup FA Michael Pittman from Denver who has score 30 points and doesn't cost him Favre.
Lastly, again the trade comes down to the RB vs QB and who is going to be benefitting wildly here. One person gets a person who can get them 20 points a game while the other gets a RB who might get 5 points on a good day. The QB O'Sullivan is a non factor because I don't ever see him starting him over Peyton. Team A does need a running back but is Brett Favre really worth a Steven Jackson? Another reason I'm protesting but don't mention is that I'm playing this guy this week and I'm fully confident I'll beat his ass down but Brett Favre is a top tier QB in my mind and the trade would really boost Team B's team compared to all his other crappy QBs. Anyone agree with my position?

Re: WOKJ NFL Fantasy League 2008 Curses again!! It helps Team B. But I don't see a problem with the trade. JT could start a week or 2 over Peyton when SF plays in the division. Jackson may come on later in the year, I mean, he is REALLY good... just not good atm.

Re: WOKJ NFL Fantasy League 2008 Curses again!! This is the only trade I've voiced about this year just because I consider Favre a Tier 1 QB and Sullivan/Jackson isn't on the same level. Favre scores 46 points in 1 game in our league. That's a game changer. Steven Jackson barely gets 5.4 PPG in our league. That's a joke. Substituting Sullivan for Peyton doesn't make sense to me either. If anything he should be trading Peyton and keeping Favre imo. It'll probably be accepted anyway but jee it's just making Team B more solid by handing him such a quality QB. I listed all his other joksters. Whatever, I'm riding Kurt Warner and a gang of receiver machines and Ronnie Brown. I'm a point magnet.

Favre won't throw for 6 TDs in a game again and Steven Jackson has still fantasy potential even on a team as weak as the Rams. It helps both teams, it isn't a trade where one is tired of the season. You need to take a risk if you're behind and that's what Player B does.
