Post Tina Palin

The points are well made, even though they're all pretty obvious when watching Palin speak herself. Still, it does a good job at succinctly articulating most everything that's wrong with Sarah Palin as a candidate and possible President of the good ole US of A.

Haha it is great! This makes you feel so bad for Hillary Clinton though...

I hope this not just a one-time performance for Tina Fey and she will be back regularly as Palin.

Me too!! I know 30 Rock is a full time gig but one skit a week would suffice. Plus, it's only for the next 6 weeks.

I think Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are going to win acting Emmys next week. That will be SWEEET!

If the ticket wins, they should make a show. Seriously.

That was actually quite funny. Haven't seen SNL in ages.

"..to address the now very ugly role that sexism is playing in the campaign..."
"An issue which I am frankly surprised to hear people suddenly care about."

"And I don't believe in the Bush doctrine."
"I don't know what that is..." - GOLD!

But that sketch made me feel bad for Hillary a little bit... :tears:

I think the sketch definitely shows what Hillary seriously must be thinking now. "I worked my buns off and then this bitch with no experience who is the exact opposite of everything I stand for gets picked out of nowhere? Where is the justice in this world?"

It's more than just unjust. It reeks of sexism and agism. It begs the question: would people like Hillarymore is she were younger and prettier? Would she be the one running against McCain? Did she go to far trying to be "one of the guys"?

Hey, I'm a Hillary supporter. I would not have been unhappy if she had gotten the nomination. I like Obama better though. I made a decision not based on her sex or his race, but by who I thought would be the better President.

It's not like by liking one you dislike the other.

And, the fact is, she ran a poor campaign and Obama ran a great one. She had a team of yes men who didn't know what they were doing in many of the caucus states, and ran an old fashioned campaign in this day of the internet, and she got outmanouvered by Obama.

Sometimes you lose just because you aren't as organized and prepared.

apparently the mccain campaign is now saying the sketch is sexist toward palin. their reasoning though, is just too good.

Quote:
"The portrait was very dismissive of the substance of Sarah Palin, and so in that sense, they were defining Hillary Clinton as very substantive, and Sarah Palin as totally superficial," Fiorina told MSNBC earlier Monday. "I think that continues the line of argument that is disrespectful in the extreme, and yes, I would say, sexist in the sense that just because Sarah Palin has different views than Hillary Clinton does not mean that she lacks substance."

Rumors Swirl Around Palin

Ever since Sen. John McCain's selection of Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate, the press has been abuzz with rumors about the former mayor of Wasilla, AK. Here are some of the more persistent rumors:

As a local Alaskan sportscaster, her signature on-air phrase was "Life begins at conception"

An evening-gown-clad Palin personally drilled a clumsy but functional oil well during the talent portion of the 1984 Miss Alaska pageant

Actually a Muslim

A lower-back tattoo of Alaska can be seen when Palin wears low-riding jeans

In addition to the five children that the media are aware of—Track, Bristol, Willow, Piper, and Trig—Palin also has nine secret children: Frag, Moss, Scoot, Skiffer, Minnow, Plow, Snatch, Twiglet, and Drum

Elaborate moose-lowering-for-sex machine gathers dust in basement

The Republican Party installed Palin as mayor of Wasilla, AK in 1996 to begin grooming her for a position as VP

Palin a viable candidate
