Downfall's box-office run in Poland:
Week - weekend gross - % Change - theatres - (PTA) - total gross
November 5-7 - $191,250 - NEW - 30 - ($6,375) - $205,894
November 12-14 - $152,849 - -20% - 30 - ($5,095) - $484,213
November 19-21 - $98,687 - -35% - 35 - ($2,820) - $661,997
November 26-28 - $64,916 - -34% - 25 - ($1,855) - $793,756
December 3-5 - $57,808 - -11% - 35 - ($1,652) - $909,660
December 10-12 - $43,051 - -26% - 35 - ($1,230) - $970,833
December 17-19 - $22,526 - -48% - 35 - ($644) - $1,038,648
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After that it was out of the TOP 10. This run is not as phenomenal as it was in Netherlands, but nonetheless very impressive. It outgrossed many Hollywood films there as well, like 13 Going on 30, The Chronicles of Riddick and I, Robot.

Finally! It's about time to start some marketing in the USA...
The trailer is pretty good, but the international trailer is still much better.
Thanks for posting it here, mary!

Movies about the late dictator often disappoint because directors are wary of the subject matter; Hirschbiegel pushes forward, telling his story without varnish. The result is a movie whose forcefulness kept me thinking about the subject and its treatment long after the lights had returned to the theater. Downfall and Bruno Ganz are deserving of Oscars they will not get (although Downfall was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film).
Well said!

Very decent run. It has outgrossed movies like The Grudge, Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortuante Events and Hellboy in France and will soon become the most successful German movie in France of all time.

Maybe.
However, many arthouse audience in New York believe NY times' review.
BTW, New York Daily News also gives this movie a negative review.
New York Post gives this movie a very positive review.

I think in the case of this movie the curiosity will simply prevail. People will want to see it despite the reviews (unless they are horrendous).
That NY Times Review is crap.

Downfall's box-office run in Hungary:
Weekend - weekend gross - % Change - theatres - (PTA) - total gross
January 21-23 - $63,548 - NEW - 11 - ($5,777) - $75,699
January 28-30 - $73,523 - +16% - 11 - ($6,684) - $197,316
February 4-6 - $81,707 - +11% - 11 - ( $7,428) - $328,047
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Amazing run so far. It might very well cross $1,000,000 there if it goes like and and become quite a huge success for those standards.
Worldwide, the movie has already passed $53 million and with success in UK and the States as well as other foreign markets, I hope for at least $85 million worldwide.

Well, the movie has opened to good reviews and decent numbers in the USA, considering it opened only on one screen in NYC.
Downfall's box-office run in USA:
Weekend - weekend gross - % Change - theatres - (PTA) - total gross
February 18-20 - $18,195 - NEW - 1 - ($18,195) - $18,195
___________________________________________________________________________________
During the 4-day weekend, it has made $24,220. Next weekend, it'll add one theatre in LA and expand to more theatres throughout March. I hope for strong returns The movie has already made $56,676,132 overseas and that with countries like jAPAN AND uk AHEAD:
